What a pleasant surprise! This location was very clean, the staff very friendly, and the food was hot and great amount for the value. For $38 we got: 2 Eggs Rolls 2 Cheese steak Egg Rolls 1 order of Roast Pork Mei Fun 1 order of Beef with Mixed Vegetables (come with rice) The serving sizes, we will be able to eat off of our orders a couple times. We appreciate the containers that keep your food safe and hot. My absolute favorite were the cheesesteak rolls! They had good flavor and amount of filling. Will definitely order those again. Never had Mei Fun before - will definitely order this again. It wasn't oily like some Chinese food can be. Actually, nothing we had was. Great local find. This is probably the best place for Chinese fast-food in Wilson. I get sesame chicken with fried rice or lo mein, always good. They give you enough for 2 or 3 servings. You can dine in, or take-out. Oh my.....so we said in last review we wouldn't be back because it was so bad in 2015....well tried again and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO improvement. Ordered Gen Tsos, Seasame chicken, and Kung Pao.....no seasoning, no flavor, no spice tasted old. The breading tasted like the chicken was made 3 days ago....they really need to step it up its unfortunate because we don't have alot od options for Chinese in Wilson. I have eaten at the Hong Kong many times. Lunch - Dinner, eat in - take out. I have always found it to be just fine. The family that runs it is very dedicated and hard working. One Christmas Evening after driving a friend home, I got a flat tire. As I was walking alone on the road, I spotted one place open. I went to the door of the Hong Kong, they let me in even though they had closed and were eating their family dinner. They let me use their phone and sit there while I waited for a cab to arrive. They were very gracious to me. I have always appreciated that act of kindness. The food has always been enjoyable! I recommend the Hong Kong Restaurant HIGHLY! read more

My husband and my two children decided to give this restaurant a try on the night of Christmas Eve coming from Rocky Mount doing our last minute Christmas shopping. Since everything was about to close we stopped to the Food Lion to pick up a few grocery items and I asked them if they wanted to get a bite to eat there since everything was about to close. I was impressed with their sanitation grade and even congratulated them for having a 100! We ordered vegetable fried rice, shrimp egg foo young General Tso's sesame chicken egg rolls, etc. Within 15 minutes of eating this food I knew something was not right! I felt sick to my stomach . I immediately took two activated charcoal. But it was too late. My husband and I both were sick! First him with diarrhea, then me. Then the vomiting! We were up all night sick! He was sick for a few days, but after 4 days of me still dealing with diarrhea nausea vomiting dehydration I ended up in the emergency room in Wilson with gastroenteritis/gastritis! I thought that it would soon pass but weeks went by and I felt no better! I have spent so much money on home remedies it is ridiculous! I have lost over 25 pounds because I can't eat due to being full after two or three bites of food! I ended up back into the emergency room again, back and forth to my family Dr. who just referred me to see a gastroenterologist and I am still dealing with this!!!!!!! My life has been ruined just for stopping to a new place, which normally I don't do, so I know it was this restaurant and it was the only thing I ate the whole entire day! To complicate things, I didn't know I should have taken certain steps, I assumed that when people went to the hospital for something of this nature that they do the reporting??? Furthermore the nurse on shift that night shared with us that she had just gotten over food poisoning herself and she thought she was going to die and that hers lasted for about 2 weeks. She also said that there was a rise in people coming in for food poisoning in that city! This has really upset me because I feel that it is not being taken seriously and when a person reports it should be automatic request for a stool test or a bacteria test for things like H pylori, but no they all just say let it run its course and give you medication for your symptoms so this is why I'm writing all of this to make everyone aware that if you ever feel like you have food poisoning please get to your Dr, don't take it lightly, call the restaurant and tell them AND report it to your local Health Department because someone else may be going through the same thing!!! And don't let people get away with not being sanitary or serving food being out all day, or being sick and passing things like this along to others. Please don't eat here! read more
