Kind of a usual chinese food strip mall place. It seems as though they don't ever clean the door glass or front windows! I just hope the kitchen is kept cleaner. Very dry chicken on my General Tso's. Almost jerky like, plus the sauce was congealed mess. Said they were out of pint steamed rice. Made me pay $3.50 extra for the quart and then still sent only a pint of white rice. Crab Rangoons had a slight rancid smell/taste to it. Almost like it was frozen, unfrozen and then frozen again. I used door dash or order food from this place. When the food was delivered by the dasher I checked to make sure everything was in there. Well come to find out I was missing a item from my order ( crab raggons) so I called Hong Kong and spoke to someone about my order they swore up and down that they put it in there. Then continued to accuse the dasher of stealing and wouldn't resolve the issue. I then explained that there's no possible way that could have happened because the brown paper bag that my food was in was stapled then double knotted by a plastic bag. Please avoid this place if you have any issues with greasy Chinese. I have had a lot of Chinese food in my day, from street food to gourmet and everything in between. I can honestly say I have never had anything this bad before. Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Seffner, Florida

Having grown up in NY metropolitan area, the area with the best Chinese food in the US, I am always looking for a take out Chinese restaurant with a few basic principles that emulate the food I grew up with ( NY Hong Kong style, meaning freshest ingredients, with all lean fresh meats and shellfish, no gristle or fatty edges ever and well spiced carefully prepared sauces and above all not greasy especially even those things that are deep fried, still minimally greasy). In 30 years I have rarely found a restaurant in Florida that lives up to those requirements. One was a place called Palace of the Orient which was nearly in Treasure Island (Closed now unfortunately) and then more recently I discovered this place and was blown away at how good the food was for a Crappy little takeout and staff that often reflected the NY attitude (which is undesirable, but you can get over it if the food is this good). It was only a coincidence I found this all the way in Brandon, the opposite end of town. I've been their patron for 3+ years now and have had a hit/miss experience where the food was not all those things I described once maybe twice... I'll allow them 3 times of failing to hit the mark and sincerely hope that this remains the rare exception to the rule. So for now they still get the 5 stars. This is obviously a competitive business and meeting my requirements is expensive. Even though I would pay more for what I am looking for, not everyone feels that way and undoubtedly they face financial pressures, but as long as they don't cut corners they are still worthy of the benefit of the doubt . Bring these people your business you won't regret it if you have any taste and any intellect. If it misses the mark I'm sorry, but I believe in them enough to write this endless review and hope they will continue to succeed so that I can continue to enjoy their food even though I am way across town. The best Chinese takeout! I used to live in Brooklyn, I never thought I would be able to EVER find a good place here, THIS PLACE IS GREAT!! Their portions are generous, the food is always prepared EXACTLY as I asked for! The girls there remind me about certain things I like the way I like it even when I ALMOST forget to say. The service is horrible. Once i walked in said hello no answer back she took my order all quiet and serious like she didn't want me there. I even said thank you after cashing out and the lady just turned around quick and i can hear her say something "slick" to the cook that I couldn't understand but made it very obvious. Wife and I live locally - have been going there for 5 or more years. Even get the same limited number of items, varying a bit from week-to-week. Over the past year, the food has been inconsistent - some nights ok, others not-so-good. Last night we got our regular order and the food was beyond bad - it was inedible. Now, we understand - food varies from chef to chef, night to night - but I happen to be a cook myself. I do not understand how anyone can take brocolli, carrots, beef and make it so God-awful tasteless. Ditto on the dumplings, and the egg roll looked like it was a relic. OK - ingredients have been going up in price. And I know we're not talking gourmet Chinese here - we're not talking San Francisco or NY's Chinatown .... still, the meat they put in that dish, what little there was of it - looked like the scraps you'd trim off a budget piece of beef - and maybe feed to a dog. We threw the food out. Wife had a bowl of cereal instead. Why don't restaurants GET IT ? Give people some decent ingredients, CONSISTENT quality - and they'll PAY ........ and they'll come back. Now, I went in today and expressed my frustration and yes, anger. I can't go back there. I cannot trust them anymore.
