We had such a great time that we ended up getting married here 3 years later! For several months, we worked with Kyle. He is one of the coolest guys to work with. So accommodating and understanding. He was very patient with us, our family and our wedding coordinator. We had booked the venue before renovations were scheduled, and while we hit some bumps on the road. Kyle was absolutely great. He followed through with everything and made our night happen. The venue has changed so much since our first visit. They acquired more space and turned the back patio into a bar/dance floor. We love the exhibits here and the eclectic vibe. Our wedding was beautiful, unique and so perfect! They do special events, private events and cool exhibits. Located on H Street, right near all the cool spots to eat, drink and shop.

I left energized and inspired! First, they had a DJ performing great music and while I am sure that is not always the case, it added to the scene. They had beautiful local art on the walls as well as a separate exhibit where you could purchase distinct art from a number of different artists. The bookstore had a great selection of books, bookmarks, and other items to inspire and motivate. There was a studio and event space as well as a second hand shop. It looks like they had a number of offices and co-working space for entrepreneurs. They also were hosting a number of workshops and community-building events. Moreover, there were a number of businesses and restaurants on the block and nearby which helps position the AAC at the heart of the community. I hope to be back for a future visit to catch events, workshops, and walk away energized.

When I've peered through the windows it tends to look abandoned, with art hanging crooked and furniture strewn about. The same art is there for months, but there is never anyone around? On their website it says that it is apparently DC's "largest contemporary art gallery", but it appears to be more of a rarely used wedding and corporate event venue.

But, I can't comment on the pricing or service for Longview because I haven't been involved in organizing/hosting an event here. However, I can say that it's fun to ATTEND events here. Blagden alley is also behind it so you can have Tiger Fork, The Dabney, and a bunch of other places right there. Espita Mezcaleria is basically next door.

I really like the emerging 14th Street and U Street art scenes. I often find myself leaving work…read moreand visiting Irvine and Plan B on 14th Street, then walking over to Hamilton and Project 4 on U Street. These private galleries each have their own look, but their feel, well they each make you feel accepted. I like Hamiltonian, for example, because it's staff understands that some visitors only want to appreciate the art for the art. Honestly, I can't tell you about any art movement or modern artists or even notable works. But I can tell you what I find visually appealing, and the guys at Hamiltonian get that.
