Fawnn did a 110% job cutting my unruly 5-year-old's hair. Our son had been too difficult to fully cut his hair at home-He kicked, screamed, wiggled, cried and refused to let the clippers near him. I tried taking him to SportsClips, and they asked us to leave before they could even get the cape on him. At HoneyCuts, Fawnn put up with the screaming while my son sat on my lap, as I held him as still as I could. Fawnn was patient. My second visit here. Really friendly, and efficient shop. I like the ease of scheduling online, both appointments right on schedule. Both of the stylists I've seen, very competent at their craft. I had Lauren Today. Very happy with my haircut, bonus points for the hot towel, shampoo, and styling after the cut. I grew up just a few short blocks from this shop, and so just a touch of nostalgia for the old Dove Candy store. The girls probably hear about that more often then they care to admit...but allow us old dudes to remember out loud. The decor here is supposed to simulate a manly garage look. The cut you'll get will look like your friend did it for you in his garage. We've all had bad cuts...this was mine. Over the holiday I needed a last minute cut and decided I'd try to save myself some cash at one of these chain spots. Turns out it didn't save me much money at all AND the cut was subpar at best. The woman who cut my hair MAY have been named Laura....not sure on this, but something with an L.....I heard her co-worker call her name. Anyhow, she was not listening to my request at all. She was too busy talking about herself and basically gave me a baldy sour. You know when you're getting scalped, and at that point....what can you do? Refuse to pay and get the cops called on you? Make a scene and risk her walking out mid cut? At that point, you're in there for better or for worse. My advice? Don't be in this position at this place. I may as well have stuck my head in my sink's garbage disposal. The owner responded below. Note...this is NOT just about money. Took my 2 yr old son to get a trim and I was amazed at how quick they were able to see him. I was a walk in and within 1 minute my son was in a chair getting his hair cut. They were extremely accommodating and made sure he felt comfortable during his cut. Half way thru the session the tractor chair opened up and they were cool enough to stop and switch chairs so he could get a turn riding the tractor. I love the owner at this place! When my daughter had cancer and was losing her hair I called the owner and asked if she could come to my home and cut my daughters hair!! She was awesome and made my daughter so comfortable at such an awful time in our lives. She wouldn't take any money from us!! HoneyCuts is a newer franchise. They seem to be competing against SportsClips for the male customer. They have multiple flat screen televisions which show sports while attractive girls give haircuts. On my visit, I was fortunate to have Lauren, the owner of this franchise, cut my hair. She is young, attractive, and friendly. After the intial cut, I received a shampoo followed by a scalp massage. The cut was fine. The massage was terrific. As far as the decor is concerned, the business is decorated with saws and tools. The walls are studded out as if you are at a worksite. I'd rather have finished walls with sports on television. You can keep the construction look. In closing, I will return in the future. Despite the somewhat silly decor, I did enjoy the cut and massage. I hope the business does well. read more

I was just driving down 95th looking for a barber and pulled into this place. My experience was great! The waiting area has large comfy couches. The girl did a fantastic job on the low fade and gave me exactly what I wanted. The cut comes with a free shampoo, hot towel, and neck massage if u want it. Cost is $20 regular price. Where to begin!! Walked in to a place that looks like a literal garage, ok cute, I guess. We wait on sofas that I felt was going to eat me. Again not seeing the warning signs. I have a 3 and 4 year old who get haircut. The older one goes first. My husband tells the girl to give him a one on top and fade the rest. She gives him a one all over and sends him on his way. Ok, the three year old is up, sits in the cool tractor I tell her to fade it in to a 3 or 4 she gives him a 3 on the bottom and clips the rest and asks if it's ok. No can you go lower around the head like from the ears down she does ends of snipping his ear, doesn't tell me, goes slightly lower on the rest of his head and sends him on his way. At this point I was already done. We paid $50 for something that we did not ask for or wanted plus a cut on my baby's ear which I can kind of understand because he is quite the wiggle worm but she should have said something about it. Instead of just ignoring it. I will never, EVER go to these people again and would HIGHLY suggest staying far away. read more

So I have been going to SuperCuts since I was in 6th grade off of 95th and Cicero but they were busy tonight so I figured I would try this place. It is a very cool concept, really tailored for guys with the nice sitting area and the TV's at the stations. The biggest thing that will draw me back is the experience I had. My stylist, I believe her name was Lauren, was awesome. I am not an easy sell but she really seemed like she wanted to know why I was in there as opposed to my other place and trying to sell the experience to me. There is a shampoo with the cut which is nothing new but it seemed like she really took her time to do it right. My head tingled from the shampoo then she did one last look at her cut to make sure I liked it. When you get a haircut, it is supposed to make you feel clean and like a brand new man. I definitely had that feeling leaving and I was so amped up and feeling good I believe I may have gotten a red light ticket driving home! Best part about it is that they do free neck cleanups and for someone like me whose hair grows very fast, I need those! I will be getting my cuts from there as long as I am around here. read more

Came here to get my sons hair cut because it looked cool. They have a tractor that the kids can sit in and it keeps them distracted while they get a haircut. It's full service, they shampoo and give a nice little scalp massage. It was $20 a haircut. Customer service was lacking. I wouldn't come back because of the fact that they didn't seem to like to have to cut kids hair. One girl kind of had an attitude about having to cut my sons hair and asked another girl if she would do it, and they kind of stood there debating it, which is just awkward for us but whatever that's fine. We just won't be returning. I'll take my kids somewhere else that's more kid friendly. I just find it silly to have all that decor that is more amazing to a child and you don't really like them lol read more

I brought my 16-month-old here today for his first haircut and it was great! Lauren was so friendly and did a perfect job even though my son did not cooperate that well for her. They have a very kid friendly area that's really cute! The kids sit on a tractor, eat a sucker, and watch a movie. She even asked before we started if I want to keep the first cut for his baby book. The salon has TVs with sports on so while your getting your haircut you can sit back and relax. Great location with reasonable prices. I've had my haircut by pretty much all the girls but my last hair cut was with Angel. The shampoo was ok but she was kinda rough I had to tell her not so hard. Then when it came to the hair cut she did everything I told her NOT to do. She seemed a little off, her eyes would pop out of her face like something was wrong. She kept ranting about how she needs money and how they don't pay her enough for all the work she puts in. Also when it came time to style my hair she kept stopping so she can "text" I guess she was going through some life crisis and her "attorney" kept contacting her. Angel on the other hand totally destroyed my son's hair not once but twice. The first time I was there they cut my hair a little too short for my liking even after I told them not to but it came out ok I guess, the second time I tried a different stylist no luck at all some areas of my hair were not even cut right and just yesterday I went in tried a third different stylist told her I wanted a #3 clipper on the back and sides and the top cut with scissors and not too short well apparently she didn't understand cause basically she went to work and gave me a buzz cut kind of like the military. The ambiance is eh and that's why 4 stars and not 5, but these ladies do an awesome job. This was my second time bringing in my 10 year old in and both times he was happy with the experience and the results. The most recent time I was hoping for Jeanie(sp.) to be there because that's who we got the first time and my kid loved her, but she wasn't there. So there I am sitting and waiting hoping that we don't get Angel due to her horrible reviews and a little bit of a bitchy face, and who do we get? Yes, Angel. She was awesome. I don't know if she was going through things before or if some parents think that she's supposed to cuddle their kids while cutting their hair, but she was great with my son. She was trying to engage him in a conversation, she was pleasant, she confirmed with me and my son that we liked what we saw before she was finished, etc. I'd be happy to have her cut my son's hair again, who btw loved her too. We recently had a bad experience here with my son who is 20 months old. We had been there before with Lauren and had such a pleasant experience so decided to go back again. Unfortunately, we had Angel this time and she was impatient, rude, rushed and unpleasant. She spent 5 minutes frantically trimming his hair with scissors then decided to move right to the buzzers although she had much more work to do with the scissors. My son was not a fan of the buzzer and got upset when she went to cut his hairline. He was upset because she cut the back of his neck twice, he replied "ow, ow" and she just said, "oh that doesn't hurt". Instead of taking a second and switching the pace, which is common knowledge for anyone who spends time with children, she pushed on - trying to buzz around his ears, insisting that we restrain him so that she could finish as soon as possible. I just wanted to be done and asked my husband how he thought it looked ...Angel looked at me and said "he is fine all kids cry." It took a minute for the idiocy of that statement to sink in at which point I had enough and left. We went home with a horrible, half done haircut and two cuts in the back of his neck.
