John explained what was involved: synthetic underlayment, ice and water barrier, ridge vent, drip edge, a couple sheets of decking and a day and a half later the whole thing looks good as new - because it is! They cleaned up nice too; no scraps or bit or pieces or wrappers or anything laying around; a little raking, some blowering, and a couple guys did a couple passes with the nail finders and the place looks a little better than when they showed up. Good news/bad news: they do such nice work that I'm probably never going to see these guys again.

Started getting estimates to replace my 25+ year old roof and Solid Roofing was one roofing company…read moreI reached out to. The estimate was scheduled promptly and the estimator was friendly but kept pushing drippage rails on us saying it required by NC building codes and we would not get a warranty on the new roof if it was not installed which we found out later was not true. It is RECOMMNEDED but not required by NC building codes. On top of that their estimate was the highest of all the estimates we received and $3,300 higher than the roofing company we went with to install our new roof. That's a lot of money we saved to put into another project on the house. Follow up to owner's comments: If drip rails are required by Nc building code as you claim then why did none of the other estimates we received even mention them?? Much less tell us that we needed them to get the warranty on our new roof? Maybe that why your estimate was so much higher than any of the other estimates we received.

When you're replacing a roof while living in another state, trust becomes the most important…read morefactor. We bought a 2003 home that still had its original roof, complete with solar panels, and had to coordinate everything from a distance. That could have been incredibly stressful, but Marcus made it feel surprisingly easy. He was consistently proactive, communicative, and transparent throughout the project. We never felt like we were wondering what was happening. When rain threatened the schedule, he immediately brought in additional crew members so they could finish before the weather rolled in. Instead of excuses, he found solutions. The installation itself was fast, organized, and professional. The crew arrived when they said they would and got the job done efficiently. One unexpected highlight was the documentation afterward. The drone photos of the finished roof were outstanding, and the detailed paperwork made getting approval from our homeowners insurance company simple. It's one of those little things you don't think about until you need it, and they absolutely delivered. We did run into some frustrations with the separate solar vendor, but as far as Elite Roof & Solar is concerned, we'd hire them again in a heartbeat. In fact, our parents are buying an older home in the Asheville area. When that roof eventually needs replacing, Marcus will be our first call. It's rare to find a contractor who combines excellent workmanship with great communication and follow-through. Elite Roof & Solar earned our trust, and that's probably the highest compliment we can give.

The follow-up was very good until the salesman obtained the signed contract. However, once i returned the signed contract, ALL communication stopped. No phone calls were returned or work scheduled. She advised the company would not replace the roof for the contracted amount as the company would lose money.

We hired Phillip to replace our shingles and do trim repairs, on a large and steep roof…read more Previously, he had assisted our insurance adjuster. He and his crew found problems that the drone initially missed. His estimate was equally detailed, and included high-quality architectural shingles and underlying materials. The job, in April, took his crew 2 days, including trim repairs. Given the size and steepness of the roof this was amazing. I cannot stress enough the professionalism, and camaraderie, of Phillip and his crew. They prepped meticulously (tarps everywhere including over pool) and cleaned up debris (using some nifty robotic machines) quickly as stripping and then shingling progressed. Multiple magnet sweeps throughout and afterwards. The quality of the roofing process as well as the trim repairs reflected their expertise and experience. Most of the crew have been with Phillip for ten years and it obviously showed.

After installation we had unused nails on our roof. Some came down, some didn't. We also keep finding nails in our yard, some used/some not. Got one in a mower tire! One very mature heirloom bush was totally destroyed and will probably lose the one beside it as well because it was split in half all the way into the ground. They compensated us for the bushes and nails($200)...but not enough to have the one dug out and replaced, the other cut back and shored up to try to save it.
