In order of how quickly you need to run to Honey & Spice to taste them:
Tahini and White Chocolate Plait or Babka - I'm not a fan of Babka. I find it too flaky and often dry. I'm also not a fan of White Chocolate. But this is magic. It's like a perfectly moist brioche dressed up with sweetened tahini. Mysterious, lightly savory and sweet.
The little bundt with candied orange. I also don't like candied orange zest. But this little guy is so moist and lightly flavorful that I can overlook that.
Ashura - is spice glazed puffed rice and nuts. A delicious snack or delicate alternate to granola.
Plum Cake - wonderfully nutty, big crumb, with not-too-sour plums.
Fudge & Pistachio Cookie - crumbly and not too sweet. Not stand out, but good.
Coffee & Walnut cake - the only one that I didn't really like because the cardamom was too pronounced. I swear, I'm discerning not picky; it's testament to H&S that despite all the ingredients I don't usually like, I love most of their desserts.
In addition to pure deliciousness, what's lovely about H&S is the variety. The crumb of the orange cake cake is smaller and less nutty than the crumb of the plum cake, but both are moist and delicious. The spices in the Ashura are completely different from the spices in the Coffee & Walnut cake. Absolutely lovely. read more
