Unprofessional service!!!! brought my mower in for servicing and i was told they had to replace the carburetor? Why there was nothing wrong with it before, dropped $375 on it. Mower was dropped of with a full tank of gas. so they ran it while servicing it. Picked it up and it ran for 20 mins. so back to the shop. this time they told me there was water in the tank. my gas is stored in a shed so no one could get to it. dropped $150 for them to empty the tan and put new gas in it? $150? what did they put in it democratic gas?? then i go to start it again and a cable broke. I swear to my GOD these people tamper with things to keep themself in business. What a shotty job they did for me. so now i have to take their mower to a different mechanic, an actual HONEST mechanic. who replaced the cable for free because of the shitty service i received from another location. Reminds me of a pick and pull place. Some of the sales guys are good at what they do. But others just don't care at all.. treat customers like they're a inconvenience to their job. Big dude with a beard was the worst. If I was management. I'd get rid of that guy asap, have heard some others say how awful this guy is... not sure if he's related to the owners or what not. I'm a long time customer of Honest Engine until today 03-15-24. They have serviced my small engine repairs and maintenance for many years but today was the last time. The maintenance and repairs have always been satisfactory but their Labor charges have dramatically increased till i felt the pricing for the service was totally out of line for the work done. IE. Took push mower in for annual seasonal service. Nothing wrong just needed its usual servicing (oil, spark plus, filter, blades etc,) Parts ran $50 which was reasonable ...but $150 for Labor for general servicing I found as unacceptable almost price gouging in my op. Oil changes and general check up on my Autos aren't that much! It's a shame, but can no longer patronize this business. (and i told the owner as such) I have found other certified small engine repair business with a more and reasonable fair market pricing and value. Makes me question the name of this business in all due respect. read more

A very expensive store. Even the tune up services are pretty high. $150 for a tune up and of change for a honda generator. Also, when I got my generator back it had all new scratches and it's like they just poured oil all over the outside. In all I am pretty disappointed. But they do have a large selection of mowers and trimmers. read more

Do not go here for repairs. I took a Stihl pressure washer in that had a cracked water pump after 3 uses. They charged a $30 inspection fee. I described to them what was going on with the pressure washer when the pump failed. I get a call back a week later and they tell me that they have determined that the reason it was cracked is because it was struck by something and that it would not be covered under warranty. I told them that I had used it 3 times and that nothing had touched it. There was not a dent or ding to be found anywhere on it. Instead of paying them for repairs I went and picked it up, although there is no refund for the $30 inspection fee. I took the pressure washer to another repair shop and described what happened to it. The worker there immediately replied let me check something. He opens the case on the pump and there is no lubricating oil. He said sometimes they miss it in the factory. They agree to cover it under warranty. If I would have kept it at Honest Engine it would have cost me well over $200 to repair. I would expect the type of diagnosis that Honest Engine gave from a big box retailer, not a place that supposedly specializes in small engine repair. They obviously didn't do a thorough inspection of the equipment and gave a guess at what was wrong. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Purchased a yard tractor from them 2 years ago. Took it to them to give it a check over, oil, blades that sort of thing. Got a call it was ready within 3 hours. Went back to pick it up the bill was $265. I asked why it wasn't serviced under the warranty. They said everything they did was not covered. They changed all the filters, spark plugs, blades and a part to the deck for lifting. I could see the blades and the deck part but the spark plug? It wasn't that old and no problem cranking or running. They just wanted to take advantage of a woman who they think doesn't know anything. They wouldn't even help load it back on the trailer. No problem, I did it myself. The man brought it around to the gate and called me over to load it and told me that was a really good mower. I said I'm glad because they sold it to me and I'm glad they don't sell trash. What a comment from an employee. I am not sorry I purchased the mower from them, just sorry I took it there for regular maintence. Will not be taking it back for anything else. Wish I could give them no stars. read more

I took a relatively unused Chain Saw to them because I could not get it to start. They were pretty dismissive to me. After a cursory look I was told it was not worth fixing, that it would cost more for parts and labor than it was worth. Then they tried to sell me one of theirs and take my old one for a few dollars off. I took it to a friend who got the parts online for under 10 dollars and repaired it in about 20 minutes. I only gave them one star because it wouldn't let me post, but I will never go to "Dishonest Engine" again. read more

last year they charged me for a carb rebuild and a blade replacement. mower broke after cutting my grass 4 times. i decided not to mess with it and have someone else cut my grass the rest of the season. i took it back this year. before even looking at it the guy at the counter, "mr personality", said i had water in my tank that somehow came up through a concrete slab and messed up my mower. i called back a week later for an update and the same terrible customer service guy answers the phone and says it will be 2.5 weeks before its even looked at. since no one told me that upfront i picked up my mower and took it somewhere else. turns out there was some blockage in my carb. kind of funny since its supposed to be new. guess what boys and girls, it was never touched. the blade also was never replaced. i will never go back and i will only send my enemies here. read more

I am so unbelievably disappointed by the service received over the last several weeks by "Honest" Engine. I brought in a lawnmower to be looked at 3 weeks ago. I purposely brought it here to support local. I was told a new carburetor had to be ordered for it. After a their expected 8-10 day period, actually at day 14, I called to see what was up; this time the part was re-routed or something of the mail's fault, but I was told "no problem, next Friday." So now its the following Tues. and I haven't heard a word from them. So I call this am and tell them I'm coming for my mower, part or no part, and I was taking my business elsewhere, all of sudden they're able to have it ready for me with a $110 price tag. NO NEW PART by the way - just a cleaning. When I went in to speak with a manager about this, he/she was nowhere to be found. There was no one that cared how my transaction had been handled. This is unreliable and extremely suspicious business practice. I will never trust them or the service they provide - you shouldn't either. No wonder they had to use 'Honest' in their name - it couldn't be found anywhere else. Buyer beware. read more
