1 Star - Disgusting Experience I am absolutely furious over how Honest-1 treated my elderly parents. Just weeks before this, their car was in this shop for a full checkup. Suddenly, when a warning light came on, Honest-1 claimed the transmission was failing and quoted them OVER $8,000 for a manufactured or new transmission -- using fear, urgency, and worst-case language to push the repair. That alone is alarming. What's worse? We took the car to Honda for a second opinion, and Honda's master technician thoroughly inspected EVERYTHING. The verdict: The transmission is NOT failing No rebuild. No replacement. No catastrophic damage. The real issue was a stuck A-line pressure solenoid valve, a relatively minor repair. Honda fixed the actual problem, replaced fluids, ran full diagnostics, and the total cost was UNDER $1,000. So let me be very clear: After a recent "full checkup," Honest-1 either completely misdiagnosed the vehicle or grossly exaggerated the issue and attempted to sell my elderly parents an $8,000+ repair they absolutely did not need. In my opinion, this was predatory. Targeting seniors with scare tactics and inflated diagnoses is unacceptable. We will never return. We didn't argue. We didn't debate. We simply took the keys and left -- and that should speak volumes. If you have elderly parents or anyone vulnerable in your life, DO NOT trust this shop without getting a second opinion. Really really good people here. The best Customer Service I've ever gotten in a car repair shop. I deal with Michael tire and Louisville and they are very good so that says a lot. We broke down on the side of the road on Easter night stayed at a hotel. They referred them and it went very well. They got me in assured me they'd get me fixed on the road tonight. They did just that, but we're very professional kind and asked about my experience with the car a couple of times. They found all the things that they would address with the car but no pressure. I took three of the four suggestions. I would highly recommend them. read more

This shop charges double what it should be. They do get the job done fast but at an enormous cost.

Ridiculous pricing. $900 for a fan clutch. Every other quote 1/2 the price. The part is $200 and the book flat price is 2 hours

Just moved to Spring Hill from Ohio, and we have been searching for an affordable, honest garage for our gently used vehicles. And with 2 young adults and four cars, we need a no nonsense, affordable mechanic. Honest-1 lived up to their reviews as an honest and affordable option for our vehicle maintenance. I brought my van to them for a second opinion on some very expensive dealership recommended service. The were up front about the maintenance required (validating dealer recommendation), but they were about $400 cheaper. I also brought my new (used) truck in for a post-buy diagnostic and inspection. They got my new used truck humming and purring again taking care of all the maintenance necessary for the mileage and minor post-buy issues (balancing the tires and recalibrating the HVAC). Tip: Best to get to them when they open at 8:00 am because they operate on appointment only, and their days fill up quickly. I called ahead to ensure I was on the schedule. They also offer a shuttle if you need a ride to/from the shop. HIGHLY recommend Honest-1 if you are looking for a local mechanic. Honest 1 is amazing. AAA has them listed as a trusted provider so we had our truck towed here when it wouldn't start up. We found out from the mechanic that someone put a foreign substance in our gas tank over April fools weekend and they were super great to work with throughout the insurance claim and repair process. Brian and Kellen went above and beyond to keep us informed on what was going on throughout the whole process and when the repairs were completed, the owner even spent a few days driving the truck to make sure the fuel system wouldn't give us any troubles. I had a pretty weird experience here. Staff was very kind, friendly and helpful! I felt comfortable and taken care of. But when an issue arose with my vehicle... they sent it to another shop and communication became scarce. I had to call daily to ask about the status of my vehicle. They didn't really know what was happening and basically made things up. Day after day. So I got fed up and went to the other shop. I got to the bottom of it all myself. And came back to honest and told them all I had found out. I could tell they were embarrassed and they apologized several times and I didn't end of having to pay my repair bill for their portion. Let me be clear. It's ok to be unsure of a problematic vehicle. But not communicating is unprofessional. So is making things up. It's ok to say you don't know. It's also ok to call daily with no update. But it's not ok to not call at all. I was also not notified my vehicle was being brought elsewhere until it was already there. Given the opportunity I would've chose to bring it somewhere else, to someone who had time to work on it. My car sat at this other shop for a week before it was even looked at. All in all. The staff was friendly when everything was going well. As soon as an issue came up communication got bad. Communication is key. So is honesty, especially when he word honest is in your name. read more

On the way to Florida with 3 little children we had a power steering light come on after hitting a pot hole. The steering became very hard to steer and we started to panic. Decided we had to stop with how hard it was to steer. We called Honest1 and begged for help as we knew most places would be booked this late in the day. They said they could have someone look at it for us. We pulled up and immediately had someone look at it. It was repaired quickly and we were back on the road before we knew it! They also had a cute little play area for kids! The staff were kind, offered us snacks and drinks and so helpful. I couldn't say enough great things and wish we had one closer to our home! I took my F150 truck in for an oil change and to have a blower resistor replaced. It was a fair price for the oil change. Kim Gilliam told me they could not just through parts at it and it would need to have a diagnostic test for $79.00. Then the technician Jim Fuller, called me and said I would need to replace the blower motor along with the resistor, for $375.91 plus taxes to total $431.13. That included price of $53.69 for the resistor. So, my oil change with the diagnostic came to $135.42. Not good. I took my F 150 else were and the blower resistor cost was, 23.04 and the blower motor had debris cleaned out for a total of $120.00. What a disappointment that after a bit, my oil change light came on again. Not a pleasant experience at all. read more

I would highly recommend this business! They are AWESOME & more importantly HONEST! Since they are so good, they are very busy so an appointment is recommended. I can't believe the customer care I just got here... I felt like they really cared about me & my concerns. John took the time to talk with me on the phone with the diagnosis of the air conditioning problem. Then when I came back in to pick it up, Brian spent time explaining additional things:). They where diligent in keeping things clean. I can't remember the last time I got in the van after being in a garage that the steering wheel wasn't nasty. I have been using honest 1 as my main mechanic for over a year. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be continuing with them. While their work is good, I don't think their prices are super reasonable. Their service is okay but could be much better. They only take appointments only and they're very strict on their time frame for accepting appointments. They're also at least $50-$150 more for the same work you could get elsewhere. You're better off finding a cheaper mechanic for the service. read more

So my friend and I are visiting from out of state and we started having car issues. We panicked and called the nearest shop we could. And let me tell you I am SO GLAD it happened to be this place! The staff? Unbelievably friendly and helpful! The technicians? Probably the best I've ever had! Wish we had people that were this knowledgeable and cared to the extent Honest-1 did! They took the time to squeeze us in right before close and it's 10/10 the best experience either of us have had at an auto shop. Very "DIShonest" service and questionable ethical behavior. Had ,my brakes rotors replaced and the oil changed and they informed me of an oil leak coming from the oil pan of the vehicle, i've had my car to multiple places before and after this service and being that i work on cars myself i know with certainty this was a boldface lie, after asking the manager why this was put on the ticket for my vehicle he ignored the question and refused to comment further, when i asked for definitive proof that my car had a leak and not that they didnt wipe it down after changing the oil it was met with no comment, absolute scam and a joke of a company. read more

We get told when we went down there to check on it that they forgot to include labor. We talk to the owner and he looks into it and the price did change. The shop is very clean and the staff is helpful. They were upfront about everything. But make sure you ask about general pricing when you go in because they are quite expensive. They did a good job but the sticker shock was unreal. Don't assume you know "about how much this stuff costs." They will surprise you. No diagnosis, no remedy, just more bullshit. Now I am right back where I started. No clue what is wrong with the blower motor, no idea of how to repair it or what it would cost. Vehicle required new compressor for the Air Conditioner. We got a quote from the Honda dealer for $2,000. Came here and got the parts replaced for half the price. They had no idea how much I had been quoted, this was their published price for parts and labor. Great work, warranted, and done in a third of the time the dealer quoted. Oil Change Fiasco I took my Hyundai into Honest 1 in Spring Hill with a coupon. They put in Kendal Synthetic oil. 3 weeks later I saw oil leakage under my car on my garage floor went back there and they found a cracked oil filter. They replaced oil again and said I needed and oil housing shroud plate $ 100 +; they change the oil this time no charge thinking this was great I told them and my self I'd be back. 2 weeks later found more oil under my car. Went to Hyundai in Columbia where they found less than 1/4 of dipstick with oil.They topped me off with Valvoline 5 quarts free of charge.Returned car for a diagnostic evaluation Honest 1 had actually placed a larger sized oil filter thus my oil was leaking out I've never had an issue with Hyundai service centers and said to John the Hyundai service manager I'd be back indefinitely. He gave me receipt, written documentation in what they found and the Honest 1 oil filter going back to honest 1 to show them how they screwed up and seeking restitution for their incompetence. read more
