A great gem in a small town. We have a small get away in Stuart and I have been a frequent visitor of the Honduras Coffee Shop since I have been coming to Stuart. The restaurant is located on a nice little quant stretch of "uptown" Stuart with adequate parking on the street. Honduras makes all of their coffee drinks with their own fresh and flavorful coffee. It is great on its own however they can also make any drink you could think of. On the drink menu they also have a decent list of fruit smoothies, which I will definitely be trying once it warms up a little. On my most recent trip, I stopped in and had a quick lunch consisting of their gourmet grilled cheese and a steak and ale soup. I have had their grilled cheese before and it is excellent. You get your choice of breads as well as cheeses. I highly recommend the ciabatta bread no matter what cheese choice you make. They also add a blend of spices to the sandwich that put it over the top. The steak and ale soup I got, which seemed to be a special as others there were surprised it was on the menu, was also very good on a cool day. It was a little on the rich side for my tastes, but certainly was not bad and it was nice to see something different than the 3-4 soups you typically see on menus. If you are ever in Stuart, or just happen to be passing by, take the time to stop in and have cup of coffee in a great atmosphere in an interesting, small town. read more

Fun vibe. Good, strong coffee. I'm not a huge fan of coffee shops for lunch normally but this is a good stop when in Stuart. It's on a busy street in Stuart Uptown so there are cute little shops to visit nearby. Similarities to Starbucks: strong coffee, good selection, artsy decor. Contrasts to Starbucks: more laid back, more conservative vibe, more children. Tried the veggie burger today and it's decent. I would order it again. The barista said that she didn't like it but that fans of veggie burgers did, said that it is mushroom based - not black bean. It looks like it might be a pre-made patty, a little thin but tasty. I have been coming to Stuart for about 12 years to enjoy the wonderful people, wonderful scenery and peace and quiet if the mountains. The Honduras Coffee Shop is a wonderful addition to the community and a real treat. Although i am hooked on the bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant with a hot Americano for breakfast, all their food is fantastic. The coffee is fresh and very good. They have all the specialty things to add to coffee including my favorite, the local honey. The coffee is roasted locally by the Honduras Coffee Company which roasts and sells wholesale, but you can buy beans here as well. They even sell craft beers and the local wines. On weekends there are special events (live music etc..). They also have a reading corner with a book swap which is very nice. Plenty of table seating as well as couch and padded sitting furniture. read more

Went here for the first time and absolutely loved it. I had the cafe caramelo. It was delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The coffee shop has a lot of rustic character on the inside. The couch by the window is extremely comfortable. The cushions are not winked in like other coffee shops. Only downside is that they close at 6pm. I would love to be able to stop by there on my way home from work. If you haven't been here you're missing out. I'm from Atlanta, GA and I'm used to starbucks but this place is just as great if not better. The prices are very reasonable. read more

Absolutely love this place. I drive 30 minutes to go here on the weekends. Delicious coffee and an awesome atmosphere.

My wife and I visited Fairy Stone State Park and were looking for a nearby spot with free WiFi. I found the Honduras Coffee Company on Yelp and I'm glad I did. This business would be right at home in any city, large or small. The scones are among the best I've ever had (not those doughy, overgrown biscuits Starbucks serves) and the coffee was excellent, too. Even better, the prices were lower than you would find in NVA, where I live. The staff is very personable and helpful. The WiFi connection was stable and acceptably fast. Stuart, VA has a treasure here and I hope the business is still doing well when we return. read more

Walked in for coffee and was completely ignored. No hello. Be with u in a minute. Just a 12 year old fussing with coffee pots for :10 and completely ignoring us. After a few townspeople raved about the place we tried it for lunch. Asked the 12 year old for 2 chicken salad sandwiches to go and sat in the rocking chairs 4 feet away from the register. After about :20 we inquired about our sandwiches and the 2 teens that were gossiping at the front counter said "they're right here. Have been sitting here for a while". WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US?!?! Our future leaders. Ugh. Ate the sandwiches later that day and the toast was hard as a rock (who asked for toast?) and the tomato was so unripe it was white! How can you let these 12 year olds run your store?!? read more

First of all the coffee is great! It is roasted in the town of Stuart but not at this coffee shop. We have been going there for years and now that this business has changed hands it's going down hill fast! Yesterday I found a long black hair melted in with cheese on my breakfast sandwich. I brought it to the attention of the barista and instead of the owner making it right, he and his employee joked about it in hearing distance of customers. The whole experience was terrible and they are rude. Don't waste your money here. read more

Passing through Stuart, VA, we were just hoping to find something that was not a chain restaurant , We found this local joint that turned out to be a local hot spot. They served surprisingly good food, great, locally roasted coffee in locally made coffee cups - then local musicians started to play to the growing crowd. I'm coming back! read more
