This is a very difficult review to write because Henry and Judy have been three for me for multiple pets, including my mom's beloved cat. I have told so many people about them with rave reviews but recently I lost the love of my life a saint of a German Shepperd. He was a big guy and I knew things were changing when he turned ten. I brought them back in the fold paid for house calls so they could be there when I needed them. I knew he was having issues and was assured they would come when I called but that didn't happen. Rather they were too busy to even call back and suggested that my giving him cat food just to see if he would eat anything at all was the cause of his issues. I told them I thought it was his time as a pet owner/ pet lover I knew what was happening was the end but they told me to rush him to Peak Urgent Care possible stomach issue where he spent the last 7 hours of his life. Although Peak was amazing and kind it was not how I wanted my beautiful boy to end his story. They said they could not have diagnosed cancer but they put multiple of my animals down with no diagnosis only a few visit was all then needed to know what I knew it was time to say goodbye. but they were too busy to call back too busy to fit us in . It is with a heavy heart I write this review, I know another rescue is in my future but Henry and Judy are not. read more

It came time to put our big guy down. We weren't happy about it, he was like our son! Yes, he argued just like one! Thanks to yelp reviews, I chose Homeward Bound and gave Henry a call. We made an appointment for Dr. Judy and Henry to come by. They sat in our living room and enjoyed my big boy's company, and we discussed our options... Henry said one of his clients had a saying - "I would rather be one week early then one day late". We agreed! When is it time? You gotta figure that out yourself. That was the worst part! When it was time, I called Henry again, and he in Dr. Judy came back to our home. Dr. Judy was very gentle, and loving toward my boy. I had my big guy's head in my lap, and we got to say goodbye. Afterwards, Dr. Judy and Henry went out to get some transport equipment, leaving us alone to mourn for a little bit. At the perfect time, they came back in and prepared our big boy for removal. We went in the other room while they did it. When we came back, he was all wrapped up and looked so peaceful. Henry is wonderful with the business end! I'm happy that this business is around. They made my dog's passing very easy and relatively stress free. I appreciated that you can text them instead of calling to schedule. Scheduling was very easy since they respond fairly quickly. I had to cancel once since my dog was feeling better but I was also able to get him an appointment to help with his passing a couple of days later. They were very professional when they visited my house. My dog went peacefully and everything was done well and respectfully. I'm so happy that my dog was able to pass in the comfort of his home instead of taking him to the vet. They also drop off your pet for you if you would like them cremated. These are the nicest people. They bent over backwards for us. Changed appointment times on the fly to accommodate our dog's deteriorating condition and when he finally passed they were incredibly kind to us and our other dog. Dr. Judy, Henry, and their team are phenomenal. We have had them come and care for our two Shiba Inus for the past couple of years. My older Shiba had extreme anxiety and a history of seizures. His anxiety increased through his life and when he was 11 or 12 going to the vet's office was too much for him. We had Dr. Judy begin to make house visits for his wellness care and prescriptions. She helped us find CBD that helped his anxiety and Antinol which helped his aching joints. Dr. Judy helped us make the last few years of Diego's life the best it can be. Death and dying are some of the hardest things to process. We called on a Sunday night and were informed that they could come tomorrow. We made arrangements for three o'clock. Our dear beloved Savanna (a 12 + year old toy Australian Shepherd) took a turn for the worst during the night. We believe she had a stroke or two. She was not able to walk straight. We knew she had congenital heart failure. We could hear she had liquid in her lungs when she coughed. We called and left a message for Henry and the vet. They called us first thing in the morning and asked when they should come. They came as soon as they could. My kids stayed up all night loving and taking care of our beautiful and unique little girl. We live out in the country so she could not spend the night outside because of the coyotes. When the vet and Henry arrived she was ready to go. My husband filled out the paperwork and they asked us if we were ready. We said we were. We let her go outside to her favorite tree and lay down. She crossed her beautiful little legs in front of her and let us know it was ok. The Vet asked if we were ready. We said we were. The vet and Henry informed us that they were going to give her a shot to calm her down and she would sleep. Henry held her head because they were afraid that it might caused her some pain and that she would nip. We know that she would never do that. But they didn't. She was very strong and held her own. As soon as she went to sleep they gave her another shot to stop her heart. They informed us when her heart stopped. They asked us if we had a blanket to wrap her in. We did not. So they got a beautiful blanket that had paw prints on it put it on top of a stretcher and wrapped her in the blanket and carried her off. They took her to the mortuary where they cremated our little girl and put her inside a pretty box. They gave us a card and informed us that the mortuary would call and let us know when she was ready to be picked up. Our little girl didn't like the vet's office and I think the stress on getting in the car and going to the vet would have killed her. It was much nicer for her to be able to spend as much time as she could with us. The cremation was included in the price for Dr. Byarlay and Henry to come to our house. The vet and Henry were so understanding, kind, friendly and compassionate. They saw how wonderful and what a lady our Savanna was. We will so miss our beautiful girl who now lives forever in our hearts. read more

We have had nothing but great experiences with Homeward bound. One of our 15 year old kitties has chronic kidney disease and we were close to having to put him out of his misery.
