Shores Fireplace & BBQ - Primo Ceramic Grill Accessories

Shores Fireplace & BBQ

I recently purchased a Fyre brand log and burner set at Shores Fireplace location in Lake Orion. I…read moreneeded a propane gas burner for up North and I was doing the install myself. I had a lot of questions and I got a lot of great answers. I don't remember the salesperson's name but, she was great. My daughter and I found the log set we wanted on display which really helps when deciding. They had the propane burner in stock, other stores required you to order one. I just installed the set today and it is beautiful, very well engineerd with great instructions, Frye offers a great selection and a great product. The price was good, less than Amazon and this is not a product you want to blindly order online. You need technical help like provided by Shores. You want to be able to be sure you are buying what you had in mind for a log set. I highly recommend Shores Fireplace, Lake Orion.

Made sure he never came back. Workmanship horrible, owners tells you can use more of "brown" fieldstone instead workers used more gray. Workers did not listen to customer. Never cleaned up, so I could my kitchen. Bricks crooked, mantel crooked on one of the sides, when pointing to owner "he said floor wasnt even"ordered incorrect insert logs, the grout or should a say cement is crumbling at the bases/hearth. The other side of FP with a new mantel was taken down 2'xs because of excessive gaps. One worker had to be on one side working and couldnt "touch" the other side of FP of a worker who never showed up.Owner is a "smooth" talker- increased pricing didnt change invoice. Then when it was time to light up the FP, it didn't work! One guy couldnt figure out the problem, then owner came out several times and finally took part of FP apart, found that they didnt build it correctly, workerss forgot to install a baffle inside the exhaust. They never pulled permits with city, remove a gas shut off valve, when house was built, said we didnt need it anymore. What! It took over 3 months to complet the project, neighbors even ask why took so long!

Gas Tech Services - Sparkling Glass with Driftwood burner

Gas Tech Services really saved us this last winter…read more Right as the temps dropped, our furnace died and a full replacement just wasn't in the budget yet. I called around and either couldn't get anyone out quickly or the weekend/"emergency" rate was outrageous. A friend recommended Gas Tech Services, so I reached out a bit desperate. Steve Wallace got back to me fast, asked all the right questions, and suggested a natural gas wall heater as a temporary/backup heat source to get us through the season. He came out on a weekend, in the cold, and handled the gas line work and install like it was nothing. You can tell he's a pipe fitter by trade -- super clean run, everything to code, double-checked for leaks, and took the time to explain how to use it safely. What surprised me most was the price. For a last-minute, winter, weekend visit... I was expecting to get hit hard. His rate was more than fair, and honestly better than a couple places I called during normal hours. Benefits of dealing with small business, instead of these massive nationwide chains that seem to be taking over and controlling the rates is how I view it. The heater has been rock solid and kept the house comfortable enough that we weren't scrambling for space heaters or staying somewhere else. That install basically bought us time to replace the main furnace on our schedule instead of in panic mode. Professional, responsive, and actually cares that the job is done right. I'd absolutely use Gas Tech Services again and would recommend Steve to anyone who needs gas line work or a heating solution in a hurry.

Stateside Spas Direct - Hot tub moves

Wow, this company is fantastic.....February in Michigan, and my outdoor hot tub starts blowing…read morebreakers and stops working. I originally called my local hot tub retailer, and after getting screwed around for 3 days, I found John Grussner at Stateside Spas. I told John what I thought the problem was, and he immediately dispatched one of his guys to my house the next day. Sure enough, it was exactly what I thought. Ryan fixed it all up, and John called me and texted me, to make sure that I understood everything, and was OK with the repairs. He also keeps following up and answers all my questions about chemicals, treatment, etc. This guy is like a throwback to when service companies actually performed a service, not just part replacers. If I could give John 10 stars, I would. WOW!!!!

Disorganized, Not Thorough, and Disrespectful - AVOID…read more This was hands down one of the most infuriating and disappointing experiences I've ever had with any service provider. Main points: Hired for hot tub leak and heating issues. Initially seemed promising. Entered my yard without notice. After the first time, I specifically requested notice because I have 3 large dogs. This was ignored during the second visit, putting my dogs and his workers at risk. Only one side of the tub checked despite clear request to inspect the whole thing. After follow-up, company was unresponsive, vague on scheduling, no-showed, and failed to notify before visits--again entering yard without warning. Discovered second leak; quoted $590 more, including a second service fee. I disputed this since full inspection wasn't done the first time. John, the owner, was rude, dismissive, and hung up twice--laughed at my feedback and ignored safety concerns, with zero accountability. I'm now stuck with unresolved issues and need to fix it myself or hire another company. My first text before their initial visit included images and videos: "I have a leak which appears to be coming from the front connector piece but I'd like that confirmed and look for any others. Its had a known small leak since I got it a couple years ago but it got a lot worse recently." We spoke on the phone and he explained the filter cycle settings, which was helpful. I felt good about the company going into that first visit. Ryan (technician) arrived on time but walked into my yard unannounced. I have three large dogs with access to the backyard, so I wanted to ensure they were inside. He was helpful, explained the heating issue, and repaired the main leak--but didn't check the whole tub. He said it would need to be filled and heated and offered to stay for a fee, but suggested that if more issues arose, I could just reach out and he'd return (no mention of additional charge). First visit was June 18. On June 23, I reported the tub might still be leaking; I was advised to monitor and photograph the water level. On July 4, water was still present on the patio--on the opposite side--and the tub's water level had clearly dropped. I texted again with photos. John told me "I'll probably be back out Monday. We'll keep you updated." I asked for a time and he said "Midday late afternoon depends on how the job prior to you run". Sunday I was told I was on the schedule. Monday morning, I sent: "Please knock or text me when you get here today so I can make sure the dogs are inside. Thank you!", to which I got no response. By 7:30pm I asked if they were still coming. At 9:30pm I was told they got tied up and would come Tuesday. I asked for a time; he replied "Thinking probably around 8 AM, but I'll confirm that in a couple minutes," which was never confirmed. Ryan arrived at 8am. Again, no knock or text--just walked into my backyard. When I brought it up, he said he was never told. He found the other leak and said John would call with a price. John quoted $590 more, including another $250 service charge. I was fine paying for the additional work and parts, just not another service fee since they didn't inspect the full tub the first time. John said to forget the service fee and that he'd tell Ryan to pack up, then rushed me off the phone and hung up. I later called back and calmly said I had feedback. He laughed and said "Oh this'll be good. Okay what is it?" and interrupted me repeatedly. I explained the lack of communication, my safety concerns with the dogs, and why I didn't agree with the second service charge. He kept justifying everything and said I wouldn't be able to find a better deal anywhere else--which wasn't even my main concern. He eventually got frustrated and said "okay we're done" and hung up again. I'm now left with a dismantled hot tub that still needs repair. Blatant disrespect, lack of communication, and terrible customer service. I honestly don't understand how they have any positive reviews if this is how the owner treats clients.
