Knowing…read morefrom my own monitoring that the radon levels in my home were too high, I started soliciting quotes from several companies. Southern Valley was the ONLY company which actually sent a representative out to look at the project. All of the other contractors without exception quoted me over the telephone or via email. Southern Valley Services sent rep David Fletcher out to look at the project. His inspection along with his knowledge and experience identified additional issues that I should be aware of in the crawl space. These were issues unknown to the contractors who quoted me over the telephone or through email. I thank David for the education. From there it was the small details which sealed my satisfaction. One of those details was responsive communication. Another detail was that Southern Valley was the only vendor willing to put the exhaust pipe through the roof rather than have it be an eyesore on the exterior wall of the house. In fairness to another vendor I did not go with, that vendor offered the roof penetration at an additional cost in some areas, but for whatever reason, they wouldn't do it due to my location. In closing, Southern Valley Services, represented by David Fletcher, provided great service, fantastic communication, a professional installation, the best price of the vendors I shopped and installed an effective system. Not knowing anything about any of them, I chose Cody because, honestly, his last name sounded like someone I knew from back home. Ridiculous, yes, but it ended up being a very good decision. Cody immediately responded to my request to schedule the inspection. He was able to promptly get us on his schedule which was important since we only had ten days to have the inspection completed. We wanted to be there for the inspection but our realtor asked us to give them about 45 minutes to an hour to get going with the inspection. When we arrived, Cody gave us a brief rundown of what he had looked at and his findings. He took my husband with him for the rest of the inspection and then backtracked and showed him the few things that he identified that needed done before moving in and a few things that should eventually be taken care of. We've had inspections on other property and we've wondered what they really looked at as they were in and right out. Cody took his time and really looked at the house - every part, including getting up in the roof and crawling through the attic. His written report was almost immediate (although it did initially go to our spam folder) and was quite comprehensive.
