After 8 1/2 weeks of sporadic work, the window had not been replaced, the entry door not refinished, the porch not repaired and, while the house was painted, the shed was not. The "carpenters" paid little attention to detail, trampling shrubs and lawn and damaging gutters while removing siding boards. The painting prep was shoddy, uncaulked seams in many cases and caked-on caulk around windows and doors. This job was poorly managed and the lack of professionalism really showed. In the end, I cancelled the work which had not been started, primarily because I did not trust these "carpenters" to do quality work on a window replacement and porch repair. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

We brought S and A in and they got to work pretty quickly. In addition to the work noted above, we also had a covered front porch along the front of the house added along with a new (pavers) sidewalk to replaced the busted up 50 year old concrete with a parking pad adjacent to the street. The HVAC was replaced and upgraded, an outdoor kitchen was added off the back with a new roof and stone work. The old "dutch" roof that came down over the second floor exterior wall was straightened and covered in Hardiplank. There were modifications made, there were some delays with the timing/arrival of materials, but nothing significant. We transformed a 50 year old house by adding 800+ feet of heated living space, a massive covered front porch with lights and fans, and an extremely large (14' x 25") covered outdoor kitchen with lights, fans, a sink, and a gas grill. It looks like a completely different home. Our one massive project was actually 6 big projects rolled up into one. We are quite happy with the results. The complexity and scale of it meant it would not be quick and easy as it involved having to deal with all the 'behind the drywall' infrastructure, electrical, HVAC, gas, and plumbing. All has been completed and we are quite pleased with Ed and his team.

When we freed up money for the larger scope to include the kitchen, were told suddenly that it was a mistake and would cost more. --Wrong roof was installed on the deck. Instead of being charged the difference in the cost of the materials, we were charged for the cost of the materials and install without the usual mark-up. --Wrong lights installed in bathroom. --Bedroom door opened in front of window. Design error, but we were still charged for a change to the bi-parting door. --Wrong color paint on front hall wall. Told it was close enough until I hacked out a piece of old wall and had it matched myself --No air return planned for --AC move not thought about by design team or engineers. More than 2000USD to move it to a place that would allow us to hear each other talk on the deck. Chose to have someone else do that. --Generator mis- installed. When I shared link with that installation information, was ignored. New board installed. Still problem. Generac guy came out, was indeed installation. --Water in crawl space and lake around generator and front of house --New floor needed the contract pulled out to ensure no corners were being cut. Was told we were getting prestained flooring put in when contract called for flooring stained on site. Was told the weight room and closet were not getting sanded and refinished when the permits called for that. Building and Project Managers acting like they were doing me a favor in following what was in the permits and contract. --Floor installed has cracks already --Bedroom fan made fluorescent humming noise when on, and although it was changed out, I was told that I was being "too sensitive" --Shower head designed and installed at an unreasonable height --Drywall was left outside under a leaky tarp in the rain and was only replaced at my insistence --Screens were put in backward so they could only be removed/changed/cleaned from someone on a ladder outside the house --Shower surround as designed would have made the shelving unusable --The security lights on the outside of the original house were supposed to be reused, but were instead thrown out. Getting new ones and having them installed to the same specifications was a weeks long problem --Floor needed redoing, not once but twice. I have been told repeatedly that a floor has 6 sandings in it, and we are now 3 in --Drainage and waterproofing for the addition was not properly planned for or executed --Entire project was supposed to be done mid-May even with the few days delay caused by changing the foundation to pass inspection. It is now the last week September. --Not one single inspection was passed the first time. I do not recommend. ** After I posted this review, I heard from Ken Combs, company owner who I had not heard from at all during the nine month period that we worked with them to address my "allegations". This master suite renovation was our second project with them; the first was an award-winning kitchen remodel. And there will likely be additional projects as we have developed trusting relationships with the company owner as well as the crew. They provide detailed estimates and adjust whenever necessary. Work began on the exact day scheduled. There was a minor delay due to the pandemic - completely understandable. They communicate regularly so that we always knew who was coming, when they were coming, and what they were going to do. If there was a day or time inconvenient to us, it was rescheduled. They cleaned up the work area before leaving every day. Clearly, their goal was to ensure our satisfaction at all times. Any and all concerns were immediately addressed. This was a major renovation of the master bedroom, bathroom, and closet that included replacing the bedroom carpet with hardwood floors stained to match the rest of the house; installing wood ceilings in both the bedroom and bathroom; and a complete overhaul of the master bath. Our shower was in bad shape, our tub took up a lot of room and served no purpose as neither of us used it, and the entire bathroom was outdated. The bathroom remodel was designed for aging in place and includes several grab bars strategically located as well as a high-tech toilet with bidet and heated floor tiles. The tub was removed and the shower relocated to that area. Above the tub was a large picture window that was removed and restructured into a transom above the shower that allowed for both light and privacy. That, of course, required brickwork on the outside of the house. Now, we have a large, stunning shower with treated glass, a seat and two showerheads - one is a wand next to the seat. Moving the shower allowed for custom vanities with drawers that are extremely functional being specifically designed to hold hair styling tools and a makeup area for seating. We asked them to accommodate lighted glass sculptures and their cabinet maker designed a tower specifically for this purpose and the electrician set it up so the cords from the light bases were not showing. Once again, we worked with their gifted designer who guided us through all material selections. She offered options and truly helped with the decision process. When it comes to choosing tile, cabinet styles, hardware, and paint colors she has the ability to pull it all together in a way that generates stunning results. Her guidance was priceless! Fresh paint everywhere, new fan and TV mounted in the bedroom...all perfectly done. Wake Remodeling even has a "cleaner" who comes in when all the work is done to ensure everything is spotless! And when we dinged the walls moving the furniture back into the bedroom, the painter returned and touched it up. In the last 30 years, in prior homes, we have done many, many renovations and experienced both good and bad contractors. The Wake Remodeling team has now completed two renovations for us and both have exceeded our expectations. There will more than likely be future projects and they will be the team we call.

We bought a spec house with builder grade finishes about 14 years ago. During that time we have…read moreupdated most of the finishes. We finished our third floor, renovated our master bath, and replaced all our carpets with wood and tile floors. Lynn's Renovation Gang did all this work for us at various times. I think their work was very good, Lynn was good at helping us make decisions but gave us the freedom to pick the finishes directly from the suppliers and didn't get in the way of our decisions. Many of these projects included long periods of time with workers in our house. I will say that I have always felt they were very polite and cleaned up after their repairs and updates. I think the combination of their pricing and their workmanship makes them a great value for a remodeler. I also have had them service my HVAC unit and different times when my heat went out or my A/C was on the fritz they were out very quickly to get things working. Once when the A/C went out and they needed to order parts they brought in their air conditioners for the bedroom so we could sleep at night. It's very rare that you find a contractor that can brag on such consistent customer service above and beyond in many I felt bad that I never left a review but recently referred her to some friends for their project and they asked why I hadn't reviewed the business. I felt bad as they have done numerous jobs and provided excellent follow-up service when needed so I remedied that situation today.
