The store's vast collection of material goods is unified under a gorgeous Baroque inspired esthetic. The store is well laid out; however, it seems impossible to take it all in during one visit. There is an overwhelming abundance of things to look at, but an obvious eye for detail and decadence. Affiliated with Abby's Fabric Shop, the store also contains plentiful fabric spools to allude luxury. Bellissimo is rich and a gorgeous spot to explore. Whoever does the merchandising for Kept knows what they're doing, I'll say that for sure! If you're looking for local gifts, they've got some local products in here too. I noted some local card makers up on the second floor - if it can be counted as a second floor? - and Rousseau's has chocolates there, for instance. And in the not local category, they have Rifle Paper Co. here. I'm completely in love with the Rifle Paper Co. art style, so that made me incredibly happy!

The prices can be a little higher in some instances, but I expect that with local businesses that provide unique and higher quality items. There's a little area for parents and kids to play or relax, and they've got a Kurig! I can really take my time here to browse and investigate my options without feeling like I'm going to lose my mind (I like kids - really I do, but 17 million of them screaming and running circles around me in Toys 'R Us is more than I can bear some days). - The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable, but will also blend into the background if you just want to browse around on your own. - The selection of second-hand clothing is in immaculate condition. I've never purchased second-hand clothes as a gift, but if I had a kid, I would so buy their clothes here. - They will "gift wrap" for you by putting your item in a Fiddleheads brown paper gift bag filled with pretty yellow-green tissue paper and tied with a green ribbon. Maybe not the traditional style of wrapping children's gifts, but the parents will appreciate a little understated beauty. I have suggested to the manager that employees don't wear cologne, scented hand cream, etc. so that it's easier to tell if the furniture has fragrance in it. For me, fragrance chemicals are a deal breaker.

I freqently visit the Dollarama to purchase my gift bags, bows, party favors, hair accessories, cooking utencils, batteries and crafts. They have an excellent scrapbooking/craft section. Sometimes I wonder how they can sell what they sell for only a dollar! I buy all of my household scissors there and have yet to break a pair. They are great quality! I will even buy some of my stationary at the dollar store! For their 'one-time-uses' the Dollarama is a great catch!

Or what I don't need but buy anyways because it is only a dollar! Sometimes when I am on the broke side of things but want some shopping therapy, I will go drop $20 at the dollar store. I come home with many bags of random crap I most likely don't need, but it quells my urge to spend money and I am entertained for a while. I also like to use the dollar store to collect items to cheer friends up. Most recently, my boyfriend ended up with a "bag o' crap" as I called - prime items were a container of play-doh, an emergency mylar shelter and aero bubbles! The store is usually clean/organized and the staff are less than friendly, but I know I wouldnt be friendly if I worked there so it doesnt phase me. I would only suggest avoiding it on a Saturday afternoon unless you like snuggling with strangers while you shop.
