I had Home Repair Dudes take care of several projects around the house that had been on my list for months. They repaired damaged drywall, replaced a few worn baseboards, and fixed a gate that would no longer close properly. Everything was completed neatly, and it was nice seeing all those small repairs finally taken care of in one visit. read more

It hurts me to write this, but I feel I have to share our experience so others can be cautious. We hired Home Repair Dudes, owned by Guliyev Mursal (who also goes by "Mark"), for multiple home improvement projects. We read 5 star reviews on this company, but no way those reviews come close to what our experience have been. We are also reading reviews of work he has supposedly completed in the last few weeks and find this concerning, especially since he has told us he was depressed and was in bed, and unable to work. He stated that once he recovered, he would return to finish our project and possibly begin driving for Uber. The timing and volume of these recent reviews raise serious questions. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. At best, the crew seems capable of basic painting, and even that required close supervision. He promised to repair all cracks before painting, but only some were addressed, with repeated promises to come back later for the rest. We were sold on hardwood flooring with claims of a 100 year lifespan and unlimited resurfacing. Without our knowledge, refurbished wood was used instead. The floors are already making loud squeaking noises. The turf installation was poorly done. There are potholes throughout, no level surface, and the areas around the trees are messy. Grass is already growing through the turf. Sand was dumped directly on top of the grass and not properly removed, and leftover turf was left sitting on the lawn, killing the grass underneath. turf not anchored and he only used weed barrier around the trees. Plug covers removed for painting were misplaced, so they are left bare now. He removed our backyard tiles before even securing a contractor to replace them. His plan was to install tiles before painting the walls, but when he could not find someone, he painted anyway, promising to power wash the walls later because debris from the areas without tiles repeated splashed on the freshly painted walls everytime it rained. 6 months later, the tiles are still not installed. He told us two months ago, that the person he contracted with, wanted more money for labor and we offered to pay the difference. just so our work can be done. One contractor he sent out started installing the tiles, before ensuring a leveled surface and before the tiles on the sides and the door was removed. Yet he stated the tile guy was the best in Houston. The contractor also proposed for the new tiles to go the existed tiles. We also discovered that interior paint was used on exterior trim. We only found this out when workers he sent for touch ups told us directly. Additionally, drains were not marked before removal, so they were reinstalled incorrectly. This has caused water to collect improperly in our yard during rain. He built a wine room but has yet to complete it. Lights and shelving are still missing. He placed tiles here without grout and left some areas open. Although our contract included a kitchen remodel, we chose not to proceed until the existing incomplete work was finished. We had been paying in installments, and the amount paid now exceeds the value of the work completed. In total, this company owes us around $5000 in work paid for and yet to be done. Payments made were supposed to cover: Replacement of a cracked window Driveway touch up Backyard tile work Garage shelves Front door waxing One kitchen tile Tiles in two areas in the back These items are completely paid for but remain unfinished. He left in December stating he needed knee surgery. When he returned, he gave personal reasons for delays and asked for more time, yet we later learned he was taking on other jobs while ours remained unfinished. They broke our sprinkler system and promised to repair it but have not done so. They also entered our garage without permission, took items such as a ladder, brooms, shovels, and cords, used them, left them unclean and disorganized, and damaged some. Additionally, they entered the house wearing shoes without using protective shoe coverings. This contractor has received a number of positive reviews within the past month, which coincides with the time we sent him a certified letter regarding our concerns. This timing raises questions about whether those reviews were strategically posted to offset negative feedback he anticipated. We gave this company so many chances because we understand the struggles of some small businesses. Overall, this has been a stressful and frustrating experience. Mursal is an Irresponsible contractor with consistent failure to complete contracted work, Exhibits deceptive or misleading business practices and lacks integrity and accountability in fulfilling obligations. We strongly recommend exercising extreme caution when considering Home Repair Dudes or Guliyev Mursal, who also goes by Mark. read more

I am so glad I turned to Yelp rather than home advisor or google to address a needed repair on my investment property. Mark responded quickly, sent me photos before, during and after, answered all my questions and emailed me a proposal as I requested. I was a bit leery initially as his bid was substantially less than another handyman company quoted for the same job, but Mark's bid was very much in line with what I thought it should cost and I was willing to pay to not have to do it myself. But where I really found the five star worthy rating is in the reports I received from my tenants. They said the workers who came were on time, polite, and very respectful of their home, taking shoes off, laying plastic down, and keeping everything clean while working. My tenants texted me a photo of the interior repair and said it was like nothing was ever wrong and they were very pleased. Keeping a quality tenant happy is LIFE for me as a landlord and I will be using Home Repair Dudes again I am sure. Highly recommend. read more

I am glad I turned to Yelp when we needed some small home repair jobs done. Home Repair Dudes received high stars and after using his service, I can see why! Mark was super fast in responding and providing a quote. He also shows up on time and is very professional with his quoting process. We also appreciate his honesty when there was one job that he recommended further investigation into before he repaired it, to ensure the water damage would not occur again. He could have easily fixed it and we would have been in the same position later, when the water damage reappeared. But nope, Mark recommended further investigation, and that is why we trust him. We will be using him and recommending him for future jobs! read more

After getting screwed over by two other handymen I decided to click on a quote from Home Repair Dudes. Mark arrived the next day, right on time and gave a fair estimate. Mark did a wonderful job with drywall under my sink and I will definitely call him for all future needs. Thank you so much. read more

Mark and Ali are friendly, responsive, responsible and great at getting nearly any kind of job done. We originally reached out to them because we had a big leak in our apartment building's roof that needed to be patched. Unlike most folks in the roofing industry, they not only checked out the roof itself, but climbed into the crawl space to examine the wood. After patching the roof, we also had them repair the drywall in the ceiling that had caved in due to the leak. They were timely, and flexible with our schedule, their estimates were reasonable and they fixed up a ceiling, along with repainting it in the same style as the original paint job. Both of them were a pleasure to work with, very respectful of our space and our time, and got the job done. I'll absolutely be hiring them for any home repair work that is beyond our skill level, and absolutely recommend them. I appreciate that they document their hours clearly, save receipts, and are so easy to work with. read more

Marc was the one who communicated with me via Yelp when I requested locals for quotes. My dog chewed up part of the staircase and lo and behold he came and fixed it right up. I had called Home Repair Dudes for a few Handy man work at my rental property. Some one answered the call and agreed to meet us on a Sunday at 4pm. An hour before the appt time he called and asked to reschedule to 6-7pm. I live an hour from the rental property and I had asked my tenant to be there for this appointment. I called and rescheduled the appt with my tenant, but no one showed up and no one answered my texts or calls. It has been 2 days since the appointment, till now no one called to rescheduled or apologized for the no show. Very unprofessional. Will not recommend them. read more

I needed an outdoor hose faucet in my front yard replaced, and Dan and Mark were able to come out the next day for a price competitive with other handymen who quoted me 3 weeks until their next availability. I had conflicting meetings at work, but Mark gave regular updates on the status of the work via text message and video throughout the morning. I came home to a working faucet and zero stress! Can't recommend Home Repair Dudes enough - this is what professionalism and communication should be. read more

I am so happy I found a handy man that knows his stuff. I called them the day before thanksgiving, and he was able to come the same day, I had another appointment with someone else, and he canceled on me after my appointment time of 10 am. I searched on yelp, called, he answered straight away, and was over at 5. He took off his shoes, without me even asking, gold star there. Then after seeing what jobs I needed, quoted me, and got to work right away. He was so honest, his prices were very fair, and he took his time. I highly recommend them! read more

No matter how small or big the job is, Mark is always there for me. Thank you Mark. Always courteous and on time.

Today I had the honor of meeting with Home Repair Dudes worker to discuss several projects I need done to repair my 10 year old house. Unlike the other contractors I had spoken with, he took the time to inspect each area, and fully disclose and discuss- the possible causes of issues I had, and then suggested multiple solutions to these. I felt like he not only wanted me well informed, but he genuinely cared about the outcome being the best possible to solve my issues. Whereas other contractors did not even inspect related aspects of the problem-he made sure to review them with me, so that I would fully understand. He is honest, passionate about his work and helping people, and this is RARE in people today-but more rare in a contractor. I give him and company my very highest rating! read more

Beware! I called this company for some simple handyman repairs because I didn't have time to go look myself and I always take care of repairs promptly for my tenants. I am in real estate and I'm always referring business to trusted contractors, but when I had a few issues on my own rental property this time, I decided to try someone new because my favorite handyman was sick. I always like to try new contractors myself a few times to continue building my referral list for clients. This handyman went out to my rental and told me the garbage disposal needed to be replaced, and the toilet valve needed to be replaced. I declined the repairs because I could tell he was overcharging and I didn't think they really needed to be replaced at all. Needless to say I got someone else to take a look with me and there was literally a huge chunk of broken glass in the disposal ... we removed it and it worked like a charm. The water value supplying the toilet was just half way off. Again, quick fix and it worked fine. He was very prompt, and very nice on the phone ... but he tried to take advantage of me and that's not the way to run a business. read more
