The met their move in expectation within 10% of the original forecast and were within a couple points of budget (although I micromanaged the budget with more granularity than they did). It was relatively smooth sailing for the first 90% of the project. By the end of the project, however, Doug and I had a very hard time seeing eye-to-eye. I was, in hindsight, likely pretty high maintenance. That being said, the small issues I was focused on have grown into larger issues. For example, the electrician was absolutely horrendous -- sloppy, inexperienced (I had to teach him how to splice Cat5 cable after Googling it myself), and just unprofessional. He used the cheapest outlets possible - many of which still don't work properly. Closet lights don't work, the electrical panel is completely mislabeled, I have no faith in Cat5 working aside from those I did and QA'ed. The painters were a point of frustration, too. They did a very rushed and messy job and the the exterior has more peeling paint and rot after 4 years than our last house did after 20+ years. Another example, we have a tile company coming this week to fix some tiles that (for the 3rd time) have fallen out and to repair grout that has already cracked and fallen out. I believe the house is generally of solid quality but the amount of work we have to put into the house has been disappointing, to say the least. In their defense, they offered to do any remaining warranty work (I had a Google Doc listing outstanding items after we had moved in) but Doug has made it pretty clear he doesn't want to work with us on any additional projects, so I'm hesitant to trust the level of craftsmanship to fix existing projects.

To this day, people stop at our home and are amazed at the look and the beautiful work. He remodeled our bathroom, completely gutted, and turn our 1970 bathroom into an oasis. He installed new flooring in four rooms of our house and took the time to make it flow seamlessly from one room to another. Once done, he transformed our living room with a detailed paint job giving the room a wow factor. Dave is in constant communication with the customer from the beginning of the project and through until the end of the project. He is very meticulous to meeting the customers wishes and their every need. You can tell he takes pride in his work and values his customers. Dave is definitely skilled and we have always appreciated his honesty of what will work or not work in every project he has completed for us. His work is worth every penny spent.

The peastone was not embedded as intended, the topcoat is extremely rough and pitted, there is a huge ridge down the middle of the driveway, and the end is all torn up from a plow. I called almost every day for a month before I got Brian Kniskern's attention with an email. He blamed me for my choice of finish and failed to follow through with any resolution because the stone was not under warranty. That is a poor excuse for failing entirely to achieve the agreed installation! Worst customer service experience I've had in a long time. Very unprofessional.

He cancelled on me more than one time after we had taken time off from work to meet with him, and his help was bafflingly rude when they told me after the last cancellation that they didn't want our business. Saying "oh boo hoo other contractors would have been worse!" Is no excuse for the awful treatment we received.

The entire project team was great to work with, very responsive and highly organized. We really liked the project management app and 3D design software they used. Before bringing in the Core team my husband and I struggled with making decisions around the final design. However once we brought in Corey's team, they helped with determining the design elements and provided great guidance & suggestions that made the decision process much easier. The Core team was very flexible and happy to work with the company installing our AV system so all the design planning and scheduling was aligned. We highly recommend Core Remodeling and we look forward to doing additional home renovations with their team soon.

I had to reach out several times requesting the written estimate. Charles did not even bother to respond to the first request for the estimate. Almost two weeks later, Charles finally texted he wouldn't provide a written estimate. Spoke to Brian. He requested a $250 deposit for the estimate. I refused. Then Charles texted he was swamped and couldn't do the work anyway. Total waste of my time. Bait and switch. Flaky. Fired these guys before they even started work.
