Contacted Home Maid Services in early February to schedule cleaning 2 bathrooms in a single family home. My late elderly mother's house passed away 1 month ago and bathrooms were messy from looking after her. Being my first time using a cleaning service, the rep on the phone was very patient and professional. She mentioned she was the owner's daughter. She walked me through the cleaning options and prices. Per her suggestion, settled on 2 maids for 2hrs each per bathroom, for a total of 4hrs, with their 1st time customer special. The rep asked me if there was time left over, was there any other areas I would like the maids to clean. I suggested the Foyer tiles. Rep then scheduled an arrival time for around 1pm on a different day as the maids would have a couple other houses to clean on that morning. The morning of the appointment, I was prepparing time to clear bathroom medicine shelves, hampers etc so that would make it easier for the maids to clean. Thought I had enough time since appt was scheduled later for 1pm. At 11:30am, the door bell rang and two young women stood at the door with cleaning supplies. No heads-up, no apologies or even acknowledgment of being extremely early. When I mentioned the oversight, they eyed each other and gave me a look of confusion, which left me apprehensive. I showed them to the bathrooms and they split up cleaning. Was told by the rep that only one of them could speak English, the other Spanish. I could not communicate with the Spanish speaking maid and the fluent maid couldnt be less interested in translating or assisting. I left them to cleaning. Close to 1hr in, I told the fluent maid about cleaning the entrance tiles if she gets done early with the bathrooms. She then promptly leaves the bathroom to tell the non-fluent maid in the other bathroom to move to the foyer; but could only assume as I couldnt understand Spanish. They quickly abondoned the bathrooms and moved thier focus to the entrance. 5 minutes later, they told me they were done, packed up their supplies as if in a mad rush, and headed out the door. This was at around 12:30pm, with 1hr still left on the clock. I, doubt, I calmy asked the fluent maid to stick around a little while I checked the bathrooms to ensure they were cleaned and what I found was a disappointing and mediocre job. There were visible streaks of dust left on the door frames and doors, stains left on the sink. The vanity mirror wasnt dusted, nor vacummed, dust and dirt left in the floor corners etc (see photos). I asked both of them to come back. I showed them the left-over dirt and told them they still had 1hr left and the cleaning wasnt satisfactory. The attitudes of both of them were terrible, but they hastily got their cleaning cloths and sloppily (and barely) wiped off the dust on the doors for about a minute without addressing the other areas. When I indicated the deficiency, the fluent maid huffed and impatiently said, "what do you expect, your bathrooms are very dirty!." Found the response unbelievable, because obviously, that is why they were hired. English speaking maid impatiently said if im not satisfied, take it up with the owners, grabbed the other maid and left. I contacted the company, spoke with the same rep and told her the situation. She understood, apologized and told me to only pay for the time that they cleaned. She said I could leave the payment with the maids, who I assumed were still in the driveway, but when I went outside, their car was gone and they left behind their dirty gloves in my yard as a token of their disrespect (see photo). I struggled with the decision to leave this review on account of the proffessionalism and courteousness that the Home Maid Service rep had over the phone. Seems was doing her best to represent her father's company and even allowed me to mail the payment, which is why I gave them 2 instead of 1 star. But, the bad attitude, terrible communication, lack of pride in doing a good job, disrespectful nature and bad attitude of the maids on duty, I can only vouch for a terrible experience. read more

I hired the Home Maid Services to do a general cleaning of our house today. The price was good so I decided to give it a try. The cleaning was generally fine, aside from leaving couple of things which needed reminder to complete. Since there were still 15 minutes left in the agreed time, I asked the ladies to wipe clean a removable window screen, which would have just taken 5 minutes to complete. One of the cleaning staff, Blanca, began to be quite defiant and rude about it -- clearly very poor communication skills and did not treat her customers with any respect. She called her boss, Joe, and he said even though it's not one of the items included in the cleaning, they should just go ahead to clean it, given the amount of time left. I do appreciate Joe's flexibility on this. So Blanca grudgingly wiped the screen. At one point I asked the ladies if they have seen my cat, since the door was ajar earlier and I was concerned that the cat had escaped. Blanca gave me this rude laugh instead of answer my question with a decent amount of the respect. After the ladies left (again, more rude attitude displayed by Blanca while leaving), I spoke to the owner Joe on the phone and he sincerely apologized for her rude and disrespectful behavior. It is because of Joe's apologies, I am giving a 3-star rating INSTEAD of 1 or 2 STARS. I wish these companies know that aside from doing the cleaning well, the staff need to know basic manners and communication skills ... it determines whether I am comfortable to invite them into my house again. I have been using HMS for about 9 years. I was happy the first few years...a few things missed here and there. But over the past 2-3 years I have called and asked for new crews several times. Just coming back from COVID you would think the crew would do an exceptional job...at least decent. Nope. I will not be using this company anymore. And to top things off I paid $10 more than on their website. read more

I contracted with Home Maids to clean my son and daughter-in-laws new home before they moved in. I spoke to Cheryl, the office manager, and arranged to have the cleaning done, as a surprise, while they were at the closing. I wanted them to come into a beautifully clean new home but instead it was quite the opposite. I was told that I would get 2 ladies for 4 hours for $200.00. She explained to me that cleaning an empty house is much more labor intensive and took much more time since they need to clean inside cabinets, drawers, closets, etc. which normally are filled. She said that according to the square footage of the home, I might need to arrange more time than the 4 hours and that it would be another $50.00 per hour more or any portion thereof. I told her that I wanted to cut off the job at just the 4 hours and that I would take care of whatever else needed to be done. I specifically expressed most importantly, that the bathrooms and kitchen must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized as well as the normal cleaning of an empty house. She assured me that they would do a good job, hopefully in the 4 hours allotted. When the closing was over, the kids immediately went to the house, walked in and found that there was a great deal of work still needed to be done. It seems that the 2 ladies finished up and left after only 1 1/2 hrs. instead of the 4 hours I had contracted for! Upon further inspection, they were appalled at what they found. The ladies appeared to have dusted (kind of), vacuumed (maybe) and not much else. The bathrooms were disgusting, hair, bobby pins, black dust in the drawers, the light fixtures caked with dust, in every bathroom! Dirty, muddy fingerprints on the light switch plates, filthy fingerprints on doors, toothpaste splashes and smears all over the vanities and bathroom cabinet doors. Very obvious dirt EVERYWHERE! They owed me 2 1/2 hours of work time since I had paid for 4!! When I called to complain, I spoke to Joe, the owner and he told they would try to make it up. Because of scheduling conflicts, they couldn't get back into the house before the kids moved in so we had to clean as we went along with unpacking. Just what I tried to avoid!!! To try to make it up, Joe spoke with my son and agreed to clean the townhouse they had moved out of. Instead of using the 2 1/2 hours they owed from the first job, they made a deal for $125.00 more!!! Now they will get $325.00 for going a job they should have done for $200.00 the first time. We got left with a dirty house that we had to clean ourselves and are out $325.00 to boot. We used this company on the suggestion of the Realtor. Well I will never do that again. Do your homework and check the reviews of any one you're hiring to do a job. If you're looking for a cleaning service, keep looking....don't under any circumstances, use this company!!! read more

I work from home so I was in the bedroom on the computer for most of the visit. After they left I had to call and complain that they had missed hair balls and completely disregarded my office. After they returned they spent about 5 minutes in the office and left. I called again and complained once more. It is not my job to tell the service what to do... that is why I was willing to pay a cleaning service instead of buying a 5 dollar bucket and mop myself... I figured they would be on their hands and knees getting those finicky spots off my wood floors (at least for the $220 they were charging me). After they left the second time I did another once around and I was still very dissatisfied!! They didn't vacuum or mop in the office. Didn't pick up scraps or hair balls in office. Didn't clean behind the door. Didn't wash marks off the wall. Finding myself cleaning where they didn't . Should have demanded 50 percent off. read more

I've been using this service for more than a year and I am very happy with them. The rates are reasonable, the schedule is flexible, and the cleaning is great! The office always calls me the day before to remind me of my cleaning appointment and they are very flexible if I have to cancel due to travel. My kitchen always sparkles when they are done and my carpet looks great! They miss the occasion cobweb and once in a great while they'll forget to clean my second bathroom, but overall this is a great service if you need a regular cleaning service! read more

I've used home maid services for a while, but then stopped using them after the cleaners got rude with me, when i pointed places they missed in the apartment. After 2 years, i decided to give them another shot. Nothing improved. The last time, Joe was with the cleaner and we pointed out clearly missed greasy spots. Joe says" Aren't these low income apartments, paid by government, do the tenants really care how clean the apartments are?" Joe, first of all, check your facts first before speaking! Second, that shouldn't matter, you are paid to clean! We will never use your services again and will not at any of our properties. Unprofessional, rude, dumb company. read more

I found Home Maid Services on Facebook and decided to give them a try for a move out cleaning of my apartment. I emailed them and do have to say that the owners Joe was usually quick to return emails but I felt like I had to ask a million questions regarding the services I needed which should have been explained to me without having to ask. I booked them for 10:00am. They then tell me that the arrival time is between 10-11am. Wish you had told me that sooner but whatever no big deal because clearly the job before me could take them longer or there could be traffic. Carlos called me at 10:06 to tell me he would be there by 1030/1045 which was awesome that he at least let me know. 11:15/11:20 comes around he's still not there so I call Joe. He appologized, which seemed fake, and told me he would find out what's going on and call me back. He called me back 10 minutes later only to tell me he didn't know what was going on. You're the owner you probably should! And then I had to ask what form of payment they accept because no one ever told me and come to find out they only accept cash. He was surprised I didn't know that and t I was quick to tell him that no one from his company had even talked to me on the phone and he sure never emailed me these details. Anyway, Carlos and a maid showed up finally a little bit before noon, surveyed what they would need to do and got started. I paid Carlos the cash, called Joe and requested a receipt be emailed to me and left to let them do their thing. They did call me, as requested, so that I could come back and check out the place before they left to make sure it was clean. I would not recommend this company based on the fact at how poorly this was all handled by the owner himself. His apologies were just the standard customer service apologies and he seemed to care very little about us as his customers. However, Carlos and the woman who was helping him clean the place and steam clean the apartments did a wonderful job. The fridge and stove looked brand new (even the apartment maintenance guy I did my final walk through said that) and the carpets looked great. If I could just hire Carlos and the woman who helped instead of going through the company I would but I will never use this company again. read more
