They also didn't have her anxiety medication and one of her Parkinsons medications. Their pharmacy is in Seattle and we are in Olympia and they didn't have other options. And she was very anxious from another patient that was staged in the hall and he was screaming and moaning for hours. We were very uncomfortable in our room that had no air conditioning or fan and one 8"x8" opening window for air. The staff was nice but did not seem to understand the medication and eating regime needed to care for Parkinsons patients. My wife is vegetarian and there were very few options to give adequate nutrition. After not seeing a Dr. all day I got to see the doctor in the evening and after going over my concerns he didn't say one word to me, turned away and started talking to his nurse so I felt very dismissed. The next day they still did't have the medications so I checked her out against medical advice even though I never got any advice from a doctor! I could go on but I would not recommend this facility!!

recently a relative decline hard enough that they needed to be moved into not only hospice but into…read morea place where there was 24 hour staffed... it became clear that the level of care was just too much for the family to manage (with the help of hospice). so, we got everything moved in and on day one I was not too impressed. the overall smell of the place left me thinking of poop, dirt and dirty people. it was more than a little disturbing to me. the staff though is top notch. in particular, Jeff was amazing at how much attention our relative got. as time went on we found even more staff that was pretty amazing. then it happened... the "on staff" doctor stuck his nose in and altered the meds for my relative and hospice had to get involved. with all of that said, the care was good, an aging facility and the only thing I truly didn't understand is why the TV was fuzzy. almost looked like watching a show on an antenna. and yes, that's small nitpicky kind of stuff.

He was mentally sharp, articulate and ready to pass away , as he had three forms of cancer. The only thing he requested were his pain killers ( which he was never into , even after previous surgery's ) . The only one worth their salt , was the delivery driver. Who was compassion and helpful in explaining how the medical equipment works and dangers of oxygen tanks in confined areas. Do not use these people for hospice, choose a smaller local company. Stay safe and protect your loved ones and your self from unnecessary harm.

He has aortic stenosis and dementia, after a nurse visit, we got a call from the social worker saying that we needed to change someone's behavior that is going through dementia and sometimes says things that are inappropriate. These nurses are supposed to be trained and should not take offense to things that are said and should be able to care for these individuals without forming an opinion or getting butt hurt. I ran two adult family homes, and I've worked with hospice numerous times and never in my life have I ever experienced such lack of empathy towards an individual who is at the end of life and who has dementia. We cannot change his behavior or ask him to do so because he doesn't remember, and if he was in his right mind, he would not be saying things that are inappropriate. These nurses should be able to take things with a grain of salt, do their job, care for individuals in need and not call the family to add more stress stress to situations. I'm in complete disbelief!! if these nurses cannot come in and do their jobs with care and compassion, then they need to find new careers that fit their needs and feelings. What a joke!! be careful before letting these people in your home or around your aging and dying parent

This is a man who made it clear he would NEVER want to be in a care facility, yet now he is quite pleased to be here. He was scared of going to a doctor, and now he is fine. Most importantly, his relationship with his only child has also improved. The staff at Olympic West is really good at putting dad at ease. (Particularly when his mind is looping) He enjoys the food and regular meals at his table with the guys. The 24hr nurse can evaluate him at all hours and has prevented several unnecessary ER visits. The staff is also great at communicating with us. All in all, we are so pleased that this facility exists and wish we could have moved dad here earlier.

I was unable to provide for my home and was treated very coldly from a company I thought was a safe place that I thought valued me. I was wrong. They do not care about the clients because If the did they would have let me say goodbye or had me help train the new caregiver. they fired me at the end of the day at the end of the week, I cannot express how betrayed I feel by this company and these people I thought were my friends. They told me I how great I was and then this two faced company throws me out. I hope this company doesn't make it. You and your policy's are trash and a pathetic excuse for a functioning company, 3 years in and you don't have your own board in order.
