They also didn't have her anxiety medication and one of her Parkinsons medications. Their pharmacy is in Seattle and we are in Olympia and they didn't have other options. And she was very anxious from another patient that was staged in the hall and he was screaming and moaning for hours. We were very uncomfortable in our room that had no air conditioning or fan and one 8"x8" opening window for air. The staff was nice but did not seem to understand the medication and eating regime needed to care for Parkinsons patients. My wife is vegetarian and there were very few options to give adequate nutrition. After not seeing a Dr. all day I got to see the doctor in the evening and after going over my concerns he didn't say one word to me, turned away and started talking to his nurse so I felt very dismissed. The next day they still did't have the medications so I checked her out against medical advice even though I never got any advice from a doctor! I could go on but I would not recommend this facility!!

Andy, the Social Worker was a pleasure to know, her insurance knowledge is exceptional Andy goes that extra mile. Years ago, I visited there at Regence, I visited the old Mother Jo's and the old Evergreen . And I remarked, Regence was the best then, and years later, I got to stay at the very best facility, and feel the genuine care of the residents there, feel free to call me anytime Thank you to all that make the excellent care happen Thomas Ridge (360)970-2086

She was hospitalized for 6 weeks prior to this and left with the dr orders for drain management, infection control and physical therapy. 3 days later, 2 of them being the weekend, they declared that her needs were met and were working on discharge! She did not get her meds in a timely fashion, and had to ask for them multiple times. There is a community restroom that doesn't lock, so people can walk in on others using the restroom, and the Physical therapist observed my aunt sweating from the exertion of simply sitting unassisted and called her good to go, "her needs are met." But also "she should have supervision using stairs and shouldn't be left alone for more than 8 hours." I told her she wouldnt have anyone to do that, she informed me that she could be supervised by phone. This place is trash, the management is inept and it is very much worth less than a 1 star rating. The CNA that showered my aunt on her 3rd day there, was pretty great tho.

She was moving to Lacey from out of state and we researched and toured many options. From my first phone conversation with Jordan to the delightful lunch we had on the patio I could tell he loves his work and genuinely cares about the well being of his residents. I loved the way the building's design brought nature inside in all the public rooms and I think that would be a very positive thing in the colder months for someone coming from a warmer climate. I felt there was a strong sense of community and engagement between residents and staff. We were both very impressed by our tour of the Firs and it was by far at the top of our list. (Mom had her heart set on a place with an indoor heated pool and that was the only reason she did not choose the Firs.)
