Pillar To Post Home Inspectors - Beal Team

So I had Pillar to Post do my home inspection because my realtor suggested them. First I was told…read morenot to come to the inspection because of covid but after insisting I was told I could come. Throughout the inspection, the inspector and my realtor chit chatted. I got the report and there were only minor issues noted. Once I moved into the home things got crazy. The refrigerator was missing 2 shelves, 3 door shelves were broken, and I was missing shelves in the freezer. The dishwasher soap dispenser was broken. The dryer vent was so crimped it was basically blocked. The washing machine was full of mold - between the drums and the water pump was basically not connected. The upstairs thermostat did not work and upon further inspection the gas line to the furnace had been turned off. Once it was turned on the damper motors were found to be broken and the bypass for the dampers had been improperly installed. The dormer windows upstairs had been leaking and damaged a ceiling. So basically, almost every major appliance was a disaster and the roof needed repair. All of these items were not found on inspection. I would definitely not recommend Pillar to Post the Beal team as your inspectors because none of these issues were found. They found that a light bulb was burned out in the kitchen cupboard and that the pantry door was missing a latch. If you want a thorough inspection do NOT use them! I have been continuously have contractors in my home to do all of these repairs! BEWARE!

On the first home we made an offer on, he stopped the inspection mid-way and didn't charge us because he said we needed a structural engineer. There are plenty of people who would swindle you out of an extra few hundred dollars, but Guilford is great and very genuine. He has a wonderful personality and is fantastic to work with. If you need a home inspection, Guilford Barnhill is your guy!

Woo hoo, first Yelp review! We initially found Jonathan Goad with Raleigh Inspection Service…read morethrough our real estate agent and did a quick Google search where he has multiple 5-star reviews and we are glad we went with him! My husband and I were incredibly satisfied and impressed by Raleigh Inspection. Jonathan was thorough, efficient and trustworthy. We did a general inspection, radon test, and termite inspection. As first time home buyers, we valued his expertise on a 1980's home we are closing on, which presented some major issues he quickly assessed, all of which we completely overlooked despite walking through the property multiple times. Highly reccomend! 1.) Speedy turn around time on our final report which came as an easy PDF that included detailed descriptions of needed repairs along with photos. All major and minor concerns on the property were clearly communicated and labeled, which provided us with the information needed to negotiate repairs and concessions with the sellers. 2.) Show up for the last 15-20 minutes minimum so he can discuss major issues with you. As first time home buyers, we felt the need to stay the entire time and were tempted to helicopter over his shoulders every step of the way. He kindly communicated his need for space to focus solely on the house but was happy to include us in his assessment of the particular areas we had concerns about.
