This place was terrible! My father who is battling a severe case of stage 4 lung cancer went in…read morefor a consultation. He is very weak and in pain and was hoping to get a little relief in some area of his life and was hoping getting a consultation for hearing aids was going to do that for him, give him a little hope. He has had bad hearing his whole life and was hoping to finally get help. He chose this company due to they offered a free consultation. He had gone many years ago to another doctor and was treated like he was less than and this stopped him from ever wanting to go to another doctor for help with his hearing. Unfortunately this visit to this place ended with the same result. He was treated less than by the doctor, he wasn't even brought into an exam room even though my parents were the only ones there. They didn't even let my mom finish the paperwork (this I believe is due to they did not accept his insurance and figured what was the point of spending time on him). He was called into the doctors office and she took a quick peak into his ears and claimed they were too hairy and too much wax to even do a test. While that may have been the case they could have at least been taken into an actual exam room. The doctor then told him that since he has had hearing issues since he was younger it would then cost him $3600 each ear to even help. They were treated like they were less than and the doctor was very rude and inconsiderate. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone EVER!!!!!!!!!!

The worst experience I very experienced with a Doctor, hapoened when I had an appt w/Dr Gartlan on…read more3/31/2926, in Joliet. I had a 10:00 am appt w/their audiologist, and a 10:45 am appt w/Dr Gartlan. Audiologist couldn't give me test because she found wax in my ears. She brought me next Dr Gartlan, and advised the staff there of the problem. That was about 10:10 am. Mind you, I had a 10:45 appt w/Gartlan, and wasn't brought to an exam room until 11:20 am!!! The intake person was surly and disinterested, to say the least, and left in middle of intake,returning about 10 mins later. The. Dr G enters. He was impatient, and curt with me, wanted me to explain why I was there as he wax in my ears; I had lots of wax in my right ear and less in my right,; painfully poked my right ear; when I flinched asked why I thought I was there; said he probably should have put something in my ear to soften the wax, after he did that there was no pain; he began suctioning the wax out while I still tried to explained my reason for being there - yearly post-surgery brain MRI did not show any reason for vertigo/imbalance and memory glitches; fell 3 times since 1st of the year, etc. Doc G asked if I had the written reports from the MRI and Neurosurgeon visit. I replied I didn't have it because I thought he was affiliated with UofChicago, and could view all that info in MyChart. He again, and several times during the visit, asked why I thought I was there, and he was not affiliated with UofChicago. Also repeated several times that he wanted to READ the reports in his hands, not on the computer, and to bring them on my next visit. I found Dr Gartlan on the UofChicago, and although I live in Chicago, was willing to drive to Joliet because appt with him was quickest I could get, especially since I still had imbalance and vertigo now several times every day Would I recommend this doc to anyone, not even for a horse! Will I return for another appt and bring him the written reports so he can hold them in his hands and read them from paper? NO WAY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH.
