The first time I got a gas can and an axe before a hurricane , and I was questioned like it was an Law and Order episode. (Axe is great, I've been clearing dead trees ever since). Sure they ask me what I'm looking for, but when ever I've tried to explain, it's like I've somehow burdened them, and today got a sarcastic response. I'm sorry, when I buy flashlights, gas cans, seeds, light bulbs or yard tools, the bare minimum you could provide is a positive attitude, I'm simply someone taking advantage of the convenient location, but at this point I'm willing to drive a little further to avoid people bitter in their career path. I understand there's the regulars that either actively get supplies for their business or come in more , but I've been there as a customer, and it's not going to happen again because I never leave there feeling like I should have been there in the first place, so I guess it's a non-issue. Don't have what I'm looking for? Try looking in to where I could find it instead of making an unintelligent and sarcastic joke about you not carrying it. I had to tell them where I would look next.

I walked into his store with an old glass onion fixture, looking to replace it. He told me to save several hundred dollars it would cost for one of his new fixtures, led me into his workshop, and after some soldering, a few part replacements from his vintage inventory and some glass polishing, sent me home with my original fixture, shiny, updated and upgraded. I did this with the help of conversations with the folks at the Weather Store; very helpful service (I left a message, and the owner promptly called me back). The barometer arrived in good shape, solidly packaged. And it is almost a work of art. I elected the brushed nickel finish and navy blue face. It's a very solid feeling instrument; nothing about it feels cheap. I followed the easy setting instructions, and set the current pressure to the local Accuweather barometer reading. It has tracked the local readings very closely, so I don't bother comparing the readings anymore; I trust the reading on the barometer. I mounted it on a wall, with the screws provided, although I did provide small drywall anchors. Overall, very happy with the service from The Weather Store and the quality of this product!

Yes you will be paying more than the box stores but the reason is that you get a better quality machine for what you pay. The box stores may carry Honda and Husqvarna, even Echo too but they get them with inferior components (Lowe's Husqvarna trimmers come with Toro shafts). Do your research and you'll find that spending an extra what, $50? Will save you much more in repairs, down time, and eventual replacement of the machines.
