As it is the only remaining shoe store in here now. You can tell it is a DSW before you even get near it with that totally white interior with the lights blazing out of the store. Inside, it's like every other store in the chain. White walls, white ceiling, white floors, aisle upon aisle of shoes. No rhyme or reason as to how they put their stock out. I went through the men's section and was about to leave when I found what I wanted to look at on a display in the main aisle. No organization to this but to just hope that a box that had your size on it might be something they have on display. After rummaging through this pile of boxes I did find something I wanted. I will give it too them, even though this is a massive store, they were still able to pop up out of nowhere to see if I needed any help finding anything. Like you as an employee has any idea what you have in stock any more than I as a customer knows. I declined and went about my business and made my way to the register. Did I mention I hate shopping for shoes. It might be because I used to work for a shoe store and knew what was about to hit me at the register. The attempt to sale me more items to go with my shoes. No, I don't want your socks, sealants, or any other magical potions. Then they ask if you want to sign up for their rewards program. Ma'am, does it look like I care about shoes that much? But the price was what got me or I wouldn't have been in line to checkout.

How to lose a customer of 15-20 years…read more For almost 20 years, Fleet Feet, both in DC and more recently in Asheville, North Carolina, has been where I shop for sneakers twice a year. To save on wear, I buy 2-3 pairs at a time (costing about $400-600 a visit depending on number, socks and arch supports, etc.) and rotate wearing them throughout the week. Today I brought this pair of Brooks back to DC to ask what could be done. I've probably worn them at most 15 days since buying them in mid-last month; the soles are delaminating. An annoyingly passive sales clerk began dancing around the question offering nothing. I eventually abbreviated his babble about normal wear and tear by observing that it doesn't sound like the store can do anything as just over 30 days have passed since the purchase of several pairs. No exchange, no assistance with the manufacturer, no suggestions for repair? I observed that this doesn't seem like normal wear and that its disappointing to see how quickly these expensive shoes are coming apart and how little can be done. His only response was a dismissive "Have a nice day" delivered in a mocking tone. I turned and left the store quietly for the last time in my life without punching him and without responding. some suggestions for better customer service: When your store has a no refund or exchange strict policy, even in the face of defective goods, you should at least provide your customer with contact information to reach out to the manufacturer. If you work in a shoe store, it might be good to be aware of shoe repair places, or glues that might be tried, or to confirm that there are really no glue solutions that could be tried. In other words, know your products and offer some modicum of assistance, even if it's not likely to answer the customer's immediate request. Don't be snide when you are denying service to someone who has been a regular customer and who has clearly brought in a shoe that is not behaving as it should. Not sure where I'll send my $1200/year in purchases now. But I will find a place to remove that revenue from Fleet Feet, and I will let people know of my experience there.

An employee saw my husband opening a box to check out a pair of sneakers and ordered him not to touch the boxes. When I told the man my husband was merely looking for a pair of sneakers, he snapped: "do what you want!" This store is not friendly to customers and doesn't want people to apparently touch anything, even though they barely have any shoes on display to inspect. The brand my husband was looking at had nothing on display and he put the box back exactly where he found out. We were disgusted by how we were treated and will never be returning. And to be disrespected like this in front of children?! A terrible example.

Good affordable parking access through the County if one drives as well. So many great businesses especially restaurants from cuisines all over the world with Ethiopian as most dominant. Probably the best coffee selection in the region as well. Two movie theatres (Regal and AFI) as well as Ellsworth and Black Box as well as Dave and Busters for entertainment. Home to some of the best beer selection around at Fenwick (retail) and Quarry House Tavern. Originally home to Denizens and Astro Lab and now Third Hill and Silver Branch. Four groceries stores as well make it far from a food desert. Multiple healthcare providers as well especially in Montgomery building. Pride, Jazz, and global festivals as well as a weekly farmers market on Saturday are nice as well. Housing options that have continued to expand tend to be more affordable than DC, Arlington, Tysons, Bethesda, and Rockville.

No apology and no sympathy for my trouble. Evidently there's a strict policy to keep the aisles clear of abandoned carts. I had to remember what I had found and where I had found it to refill my cart. When I checked out and was recounting what had happened, the same employee walked up and made faces as if I was a troublemaker. No one likes a messy store but wow- I wasn't the villain here! Guess I won't be back since I am such an inconvenience to the store clerks! PS other clerks were polite but boy, this one wasn't!
