The prices are reasonable, although "bankrupt" implies something on par with poundland, its not quite that cheap, but you'll find a bargain. I'm not sure whether a delivery servce is available as lots of the items are quite large and bulky I should think there would be.

Branded Bargains is if you like, your large version of Home Bargains as it is very similar in layout and style so don't be fooled for seeing double; this place is like Home Bargains big brother and you will find allsorts of extra items to buy at low prices in addition to the usual Home Bargains products. I like this place so much, that I'm now a regular shopper at this store; its truly a hidden treasure chest (well, not exactly but you know what I mean)! It is out of the way from the main road and situated behind TJ Hughes so not often noticeable. If I had to use a map to find this place, I would say its definitely worth it.

Just outside of the little Textile Town on the outskirts of Liverpool's centre is this marvellous store, located adjacently to its furniture offering and nearby to a heck of a lot of fabric and second-hand stuff. If you've never read my reviews before, well, shame on you! I mean, sorry, let me correct myself and say that you might not have HEARD of Home Bargains. Well, Liverpool, you are lucky. Not only do you have the behemoth of good value that is TJ Hughes on your doorstep, you also have the student and freelance writer (not that I'm talking about myself, noooo) Mecca of shopping wonderment that is Branded Bargains. They're Bargains. And they're Branded. Meaning they're cheap, and they're things you've heard of. Johnson & Johnson moisturisers, for instance. L'Oreal shampoos. Heinz beans. Pot Noodles. Jordan's cereals. Not stolen personally from the muesli arsenal of Katie 'Jordan' Price, but rather the ones that Bill Oddie's voice waxes lyrical about when he's narrating the adverts. You name it, at some point (somewhat rotationally, we have to remember, as with Home Bargains) they'll have it. It's a great place to pick up quirky gifts and offers plenty of homeware as well as edibles and toiletries, and if you're even slightly strapped for cash you'll save a bundle here. Put it on your list of shops to visit.

Kind Charity Shop in Bold Street is one of the largest charity shops I have been to. In here they…read moresell a charming collection of items that make the perfect little gift. Anything from mugs, 'The Beatles' picture frames and football memorabilia, they have here. The shop is quite spacious with several welcoming staff that greet you with a smile each time you enter. All prices in general are cheap with all funds going towards a good cause for helping local families and children. This shop offers more variety than most of the smaller charity shops as they fit in items such as ornaments, clothes and crockery. As well as that, they have the usual suspects like children's books and videos. The shop generates a good browse whenever passing by, because there is always something new in the window display. And sometimes, these items can be quite unique.

This will not be the typical charity shop that you will be expecting. Anyway the Kind Charity Shop seems to sell things that are gained in bulk - God knows where from mind you - such as crockery, furniture, pictures and well to be honest just about anything you would probably never think of buying but see here at such a ridiculous price and end up trying to find somewhere for it in your house.

The store mainly attracts those who own businesses as items are usually sold in bulks, hence you have to become a member which requires certain eligibility. Prices do not include VAT until you reach the checkout so this is something to be wary of. However, it is a great store that you could probably spend a good few hours browsing. Prices in general are affordable and not overly expensive. The location in Liverpool is rather in an isolated position with it being in an industrial estate and away from the main road. Most people have to have a car to use this store which makes sense when you're buying products in bulk form!

As you can see from my pictures the low price doesn't mean a scrimp on quality, and you can find everything from beds to sofas, chests of drawers to mirrors and a great deal more, including some very snazzy wall prints. I'm a huge fan of this shop, and it's ever so handy for any students or young urban things moving fresh into the area. The staff are really friendly and there's even a fridge where you can buy cold drinks if trudging around the store has taken it out of you. Brilliant stuff!

I mean, I've definitely seen cheaper discount shops on the Wirral and in Liverpool, let alone the much cheaper shops I've seen back home in the US, and certainly those I've visited in a third world country. So, claim you're cheap if you want, but as the mad Hatter says, "don't let's be stupid." Here you'll find pretty much the usual discount hodgepodge such as tea towels, rolls of tape, dog treats, recycled paper notebooks, baby socks, etc. And yeah it's cheap, but no it's definitely, definitely not the cheapest shop on earth. You will probably find comparable prices nearby at Home Bargains, and the quality will be better to boot.

One thing quite noticeable is its big, bold and colourful sign and you can't miss it as you pass London Road. So, every item is exactly £1 which I love because it means you don't get change in pennies etc! Also to mention, there is a cash point adjacent to the store which may be handy. Another convenient store to my liking yet the choice and quantity is limited.

You will find a decent assortment of items including plush toys, cards, sweets, toiletries, basic household goods, some food items, etc. I found the staff seemed a bit overbearing/suspicious of customers but maybe they were having a bad day.

Bargain Buys is one of those shops that you seem to find in every town or little village…read more Bric-a-brac would probably be the correct way to describe it, but judging by the stuff on sale here, bric-a-crap might be a bit more accurate. The shop itself is not particularly large, but Bargain Buys makes up for this by literally cramming in as much stuff as possible, preventing even light from entering into the shop through its windows. Looking for some plastic chairs? They've got them. Children's toys? They've got them. Learner 'L' plates (for a car or hen do)? They've got them. It's hard to really pin down what they specialise in at Bargain Buys so it's probably best for you to visit here yourself but chances are there'll be something there that catches your eye. Whether you actually need it or not is another question, but everything's so cheap that it doesn't really matter too much.

The market has been around for decades and I recall that the last time I visited, was approximately 14 years ago when I bought a cheap magic set. I think after you've read this though, you'll understand why I haven't been back. I've awarded one star for its variety of stalls and another for its unique setting (which may appeal to some) but for me, neither are appealing. The whole indoor/outdoor environment feels dull, dated and unappetising. As for the type of stuff on offer, the previous review accurately sums it up. If you visit on a winter's day, it just adds to the gloominess. So whatever you do, make sure you visit on a pleasant summer's day (if you have to); it'll help brighten up the aspect!

It's just minutes away from the shiny new Liverpool One shopping centre, on Commercial Road, which runs all the way through north Liverpool. Prior to Thatcher's rule, this was a thriving and bustling area employing thousands of people, the lifeblood of this great city. Now it's ramshackle with most of the docks deserted, but still incredibly interesting to see. I can run riot with my Canon. It may be billed as the Camden of the north but lacks the international flavour of its London 'counterpart'. There is a small food court but unless you fancy burger, chips, or a kebab you're struggling for choice. It's more greasy spoon than full-flavoured market, something you could never say about Camden. The stalls rarely change, from brick-a-brack to household goods to clothes. Once you've been there's no need to go back for a month or so, but it's worth a visit every now and again.

Everything in this store sells well in terms of price but I'm not sure about quality as I've not actually bought anything from here. From what I have observed, they have a generous selection of garden related items; this is what hit me most when I first entered. I would consider this store as very handy indeed because it provides all the home and garden essentials and if you're a hobbyist of such trades, you'll enjoy what the store has available.
