The prices are reasonable, although "bankrupt" implies something on par with poundland, its not quite that cheap, but you'll find a bargain. I'm not sure whether a delivery servce is available as lots of the items are quite large and bulky I should think there would be.

Branded Bargains is if you like, your large version of Home Bargains as it is very similar in layout and style so don't be fooled for seeing double; this place is like Home Bargains big brother and you will find allsorts of extra items to buy at low prices in addition to the usual Home Bargains products. I like this place so much, that I'm now a regular shopper at this store; its truly a hidden treasure chest (well, not exactly but you know what I mean)! It is out of the way from the main road and situated behind TJ Hughes so not often noticeable. If I had to use a map to find this place, I would say its definitely worth it.

If you've never read my reviews before, well, shame on you! I mean, sorry, let me correct myself and say that you might not have HEARD of Home Bargains. Well, Liverpool, you are lucky. Not only do you have the behemoth of good value that is TJ Hughes on your doorstep, you also have the student and freelance writer (not that I'm talking about myself, noooo) Mecca of shopping wonderment that is Branded Bargains. They're Bargains. And they're Branded. Meaning they're cheap, and they're things you've heard of. Johnson & Johnson moisturisers, for instance. L'Oreal shampoos. Heinz beans. Pot Noodles. Jordan's cereals. Not stolen personally from the muesli arsenal of Katie 'Jordan' Price, but rather the ones that Bill Oddie's voice waxes lyrical about when he's narrating the adverts. You name it, at some point (somewhat rotationally, we have to remember, as with Home Bargains) they'll have it. It's a great place to pick up quirky gifts and offers plenty of homeware as well as edibles and toiletries, and if you're even slightly strapped for cash you'll save a bundle here. Put it on your list of shops to visit.

They offer a wide range of excellent and professional services at affordable prices plus an efficient service to top that. It is not often one needs these services regularly but when you do, Timpson is a quality place you can rely on because they have been used to delivering the best in the business since they were established in 1903. I have been to this particular branch in Maghull a couple of times before and experienced no problems whatsoever. I had a new pair of hard rubber soles attached and they have lasted me for years, which has increased the lifespan of my favourite shoes! The service is second to none.

They have resoled, re-heeled and repaired many of my shoes and boots from the past and have always done an excellent job. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, They have real tradesmen working here who produce excellent work and take pride in what they do. The shoe repairs I have had done here have always been done quickly and have been inexpensive, especially considering the quality and time frame. They also have a large range of luggage, bags, purses, travel items, shoe related items and much more. This is a very useful shop and you can rely on them.

It is also adequate for children's toys but as simple as you can get. If you want something simple but don't really have much of a target what to buy, you won't spend a lot in here.

As you can see from my pictures the low price doesn't mean a scrimp on quality, and you can find everything from beds to sofas, chests of drawers to mirrors and a great deal more, including some very snazzy wall prints. I'm a huge fan of this shop, and it's ever so handy for any students or young urban things moving fresh into the area. The staff are really friendly and there's even a fridge where you can buy cold drinks if trudging around the store has taken it out of you. Brilliant stuff!

Prices do not include VAT until you reach the checkout so this is something to be wary of. However, it is a great store that you could probably spend a good few hours browsing. Prices in general are affordable and not overly expensive. The location in Liverpool is rather in an isolated position with it being in an industrial estate and away from the main road. Most people have to have a car to use this store which makes sense when you're buying products in bulk form!

With the Early Learning Centre now combined with Mothercare, it is ideal for parents to find everything they could possibly want, to help raise their child. Prices are competitive and you will usually find that they are reasonable and of decent quality. Mothercare has been the main place for parents for a long time and it fully deserves to be; not hard to see why. Whether you're looking for prams, baby chairs or cots, Mothercare has it all with staff that are always willing to help.

However when entering Maghull's Fancy Dress Box, it's hard not to get carried away and dress up in the various and wide-ranging costumes they have both on sale or to hire. The outfits there are generally of a decent standard and certainly better than any local Smiffy's would have and they also stock various other bits and pieces for nights like stag and hen dos or birthday celebrations that can be very useful (they advertise themselves as a "1 Stop Party Shop"). They also have bouncy castles available for hire for just thirty pounds, perfect for those kid's parties where all the adults are waiting for the kids to tire/go to bed so they can all get on the bouncy castle. A very weird and wonderful place to go for any fancy dress or party needs.

This unusual but handy feature in the shop means that you can buy your weekly copy of Heat before popping next door and reading it all with a cup of tea. The selection of magazines in the newsagents is pretty varied without offering anything too obscure like Knitting Weekly, and their sweets and drinks there are competitive and pretty cheap. The café side is pretty simple but cosy enough, with Taylor's offering its customers a small selection of hot and cold refreshments and snacks whilst you sit and watch the world go by through Ormskirk village. Both sides of the shop are reasonably-sized, meaning they can fit plenty in there without making you feel too cramped. A decent place to go for your glossies or a cup of tea.
