Petticoat Lane is a small indoor street with various shops attached. As you can tell from the…read moreexterior, it pays homage to the quaint, and though the shops have changed over the years, the ethos stays the same. In one of the windows belonging to the arcade you can see child mannequins modelling christening and bridal wear, and it has been a long standing joke that the little baldy boy looks a lot like one of my mates, even though all the child mannequins are quite freakish. It is also home to a great sweet shop, a hairdressers and some lovely vintage shops. Worth a browse.

This lovely little shopping arcade is tucked away near the top of Bold Street. The shop front is…read morereminiscent of an old-time Parisian boutique, and the entrance leads into a long, kind of dimly lit passageway with various shops on either sides. The walls inside the passage are yellow and white, with decorative windows set in them. Inside you will find a newsagent, a children's formal wear store, a vintage clothing shop, a hat shop, a vintage/repurposed jewellery store, and a hair salon. Most of the shops seemed to be closed when I went in midday, however Hope & Winkle Vintage was open, and they are well worth the visit. There's a very interesting hat shop opposite Hope & Winkle which looks to serve nearly every possible hat need you could imagine. Sarah Daly hair studio is on the second or third floor, up a very windy staircase, as is the vintage clothing shop which seemed closed when I was there. All in all, a very cute shopping arcade.

This is all good, I get to visit, have a few cuddles and play in the play den, pretend to be a child again and it's great fun. Then I get to go home when they start to cry. It is a perfect situation. Of course I have to come with surprises once in a while and shower them with toys when it gets to their birthday. I have recently found Strawberry to be the perfect place to find really cute kids outfits. They have designer kids clothes mainly for children rather than babies, although there is the line Roberto Cavalli Baby, which are really cute. There is a sale on this line at the moment. It's not cheap because they are designer and I tend to look at their sale items to get good quality clothes but at that slightly cheaper price. They have an interesting scheme where you can pay off the clothes that you buy over a four week period, and I think this is to accommodate for the slightly higher prices.

The stylish boutique looks fab (I love their cute strawberry mouse) and has loads of clothes that were perfect for my niece. The staff were really helpful tool, I've been to other kids clothing stores recently and the service was nowhere near as helpful as strawberry's. I would recommend it to any one with fashion conscious kids.
