Once I arrived, I realized this was the place we had stayed at on our last trip a few years ago through Del Rio. It's clean, the staff was friendly. The free breakfast was nothing to write home about but it hit the spot. It's a locally owned place, not a chain. It appears to be more of a blue-collar place. Fortunately, I only had a carry-on backpack and am able to handle the stairs. The staff did say assistance would be offered if needed. After a long day of travel, I get to the front desk and check in took a little longer than I thought it should. There was one agent at the front desk who was doing his job, so I think the holdup was caused by another guest that didn't have her stuff figured out. My room (307) had a comfortable king bed, the room was clean, and everything in the room was in working order. The bathroom was clean, but the step-in shower showed minor wear and tear. Water pressure was sufficient, but the shower head spray setting could've been better. There is no in room coffee maker, so the coffee station in the lobby is a welcome amenity and thankfully is available all day. The hot breakfast offered is decent, with something for everyone, and was different each day I was at the hotel. A few items weren't quite as hot as they should've been, but overall, I did appreciate the variety of items that were offered. Check out was a lot smoother than check in. This Holiday Inn Express & Suites is a decent hotel close to Wal Mart, the local shopping centers, and eating establishments, and one of the better places in Del Rio.

While the style is vintage, the rooms have been updated and are clean. The staff was great. Check-in and check-out were quite easy. Days Inn is conveniently located with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby - several within a short walking distance. They offer a nice pool, and downstairs rooms have doors both to a hallway as well as to the pool side of the building. I was able to park directly in front of my room since it was on the end. The room had free WiFi, several outlets for charging devices, and iron and ironing board, large screen TV, and air conditioning. The AC was a little loud, but that was a plus as its hum drowned out any other noises. One lamp didn't work, but I didn't really need it. Most of the other clients seemed to be workers (probably oil / gas production), but also a few families. It was mostly very quiet. They offer a basic hot breakfast (sausage, microwaved omelets, waffles), coffee, juice, cereal, fruit, etc. The dining room is bright and cheerful. While it's not a luxury hotel, and the outside is dated and looks a bit tired, it's still a great place for tired bodies like mine to get some quality sleep. Yes, I'd return.
