Good place to spend the night when looking for a bed and a shower without any fanfare. Room and facility were clean , except the room had a smell of cigarette smoke. Bed was comfortable. ac unit was not noisy. Facility felt safe in a safe part of the city. Close to many restaurant's and retail stores. Front desk staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. I've always used this location when I travel to Del Rio. The rooms are clean the service is great and the location leaves you at the main spot where everything surrounds you from Walmart to the mall and other places. The fast food chain is literally next to you whataburger subway etc. read more

This was a cheap place to stay that overall was decent if you just need somewhere to sleep for a night of two. I was most hesitant of the bathroom and specifically the shower because it was very scuffed up, almost looking like dirt. The toilet seat had paint chipping on it, but worked fine. The floor around the shower had this dark discoloration that looked like buildup so I tried walking around that. The beds were okay and the TV was fine. However, the wifi never seemed to work well and I always just turned it off to use my phone data because nothing would load on it. Another thing is that I was put in a room behind the Whataburger and for some reason that side of the motel was were a ton of men were standing outside on the balcony and besides their rooms at night just staring while I was unloading my stuff from the car. I had a lengthy page for my review but somehow it disappeared. If you want a clean room without the perks, this Motel 6 is it. Upon checking in the ladies at the front desk are extremely nice and polite. My coworker and I was enjoying the afternoon by sitting outside and playing cards. I heard some feet to my left and golly gee omg 3 dang off the leash pit bulls, the mommy, daddy and child. I'm screaming and my coworker says don't move and stop screaming. She says they feel your energy so don't move, don't move she says!!! The next morning, there they was again out for their morning walk. I snapped a picture for the front office along with the room they came from and all they said was they will tell the manager. If you have a lady, don't bring her here if you do your cheap and think less of her. I found a roach in my suitcase, nasty. The office was nice enough to move my room. Stay here at your own risk. Because I was staying indefinitely I went to Walmart and got some roach spray and made the best of my stay. Would I spend my dollars to stay here? NO. Would i recommend you stay here? yes if your funds are limited. read more

This is by far the dirtiest motel I have had the displeasure of staying at. The first room stunk of old wet dirty towels when I asked to change rooms the hostess did with a bad attitude, as if I were asking for charity. The second room was just as bad. The shower was dirty. With the revamping of most of the Motel Six rooms pretty much complete now, the experience you will get when staying at one is going to be one of simplicity and minimalism. Gone are the days of overly heavy furniture in the rooms, with things like drawers for keeping your belongings in or overly elaborate bathrooms. Motel Six is now a place where you get a small list of items in the room... a bed, a TV, a small bathroom with a simple shower. That's it... if there happens to be a chair in the room, you are lucky. These rooms are built with the traveller in mind, rooms that are designed to take care of the bare essentials, and that is it. The beds are fair, if a bit firm... not a problem for me, as I like firm beds. The place is home to a lot of construction groups who very often need places for workers to stop overnight at (or over multiple weeks, depending on the project) so the clientele tend to be a rough-looking lot, but they are usually good-hearted, and in the morning when you wake up at a reasonable hour they are already out the door. read more

I will say that the room was clean and room looks like they could use a little update. The problem lies in the fact that after the first night I wasn't able to sleep very well. The room is either to hot or to cold due to the ac being so close to the bed. The worst part is the room had bugs, bed bugs. After I woke I had a bite on my inner thigh, with a quick look under the pillows there it was. There was no problem with the front desk giving me the a refund after one night after I paid for the 5 nights. I don't recommend. read more

My family and I were on our way to Mexico, and we get lost. We were on a very empty road and it was very dark. It was about 8:30pm when my dad decided to stay here. My family was starving, and we saw a Jack in the Box. I was too tired and too cranky to eat. The rooms were very small. The beds were sized about full size or queen. I don't remember. The bathroom was pretty small but a good size. I felt comfortable here. The internet didn't work for us here... too bad I guess. read more

This motel 6 was horrible. We were visiting due to hurricane Harvey. The staff was rude. I booked two rooms that were joining. Unfortunately there was no point to that because rooms were sealed. The toilets were overflowing and constantly running. Around 2 am the entire floor was covered in toilet water! We wanted a refund and they refused! Due to the hurricane governor Abbott said we would get the taxes exempt for our rooms! Apparently motel 6 doesn't care. When we asked for the manager they constantly lied about what time she would be there, they never gave us her number, and she NEVER SHOWED UP OR CALLED BACK. SHAME ON YOU MALISSA GONZALEZ! So i was staying at Motel 6 in del Rio Tx for the spring research work my buddy and i were doing. I have stayed at that exact motel at least 15times or more, because of said spring work. This stay was by far the worse. First, the things they could control. 1) they had roofers who showed up at 8am and started to bang on the roof above us. Even better they dropped multiple nails on to the ground in both the walk and driveways. I was just told by Motel 6 corporate that this isn't something that matters to them as that's a local issue. 2) Smoking room when i specifically asked for non-smoking apparently this also doesn't matter at all. 3) very uncomfortable beds (unlike previous rooms), again not something they care about. 4) I complained that day and was told the manager would get back to me. They didn't. I called back later that week. Got told they're now on vacation. Called back yesterday got told they were on a "business call" and would get back with me. Called today and she's back on vacation. Add to this that they do nothing about the Grackles which are passing through so until like 10 or so it was a cacophony of bird sounds and again at 7am. #motel6 doesn't care about any of this. They are telling at this point it's up to the local manager. The same one that is dodging me. I talked about that and they said well it will come from us now to contact you. I asked and if they don't? Silence. So as of now I will no longer be staying at any Motel 6 until they can decide that customer service is in their best interest. While i get the probably 2k per year i spend with them doesn't matter in the long run. Hopefully if enough people send them the same message they'll decide they should. I even said let me get this right yall think that 1k per year of business isn't worth $104 or less? "well sir, it's just not our decision". That says what you need to know. I get that person couldn't make the decision, but Motel6 had not empowered even a customer support manager to make that decision only a local one who can't be bothered to take a complaint call. Not to mention that customer support manger was the firewall. They couldn't escalate me any further. Unlike Amazon when I had a major issue there with their logistics department. I eventually got sent to their Executive Committee where Bezos himself (or a staff member using is name)( made a decision about it. Just made a recent stay for 10 nights at this particular motel. Overall clean facility indoors...outdoors is a different story. The housekeeping staff to a wonderful job. Grounds maintenance is lacking somewhat. However, the staff is extremely friendly. Just make sure you let them know in advance that you will need a room with WiFi access. Only a select few rooms will have this, and you'll have to purchase a passcode each day for 2.99, for each computer accessing Internet. The weekend crowd seems to flock to this hotel to crash after a night of partying, but it's nothing that's too bad. I was able to sleep undisturbed. OK so it's remodeled and it's $42.99 online plus tax and yes they allow pets for free and yes there's a flat screen TV. But the bed, the part I care about, and the pillows SUCK! The pillows are as flat as can be and the bed is hard and creaky with no support. The Internet works aight. The room is really small, but it's all that is really needed. Normally I have no issue with Motel 6, but this one really smelled bad and was in desperate need of a face lift. It smelled so bad that even after being in the room for an hour, I could still smell the stinkiness, and our clothes, even the ones that didn't come out of the suit case, wreaked the next day. (We are on a road trip so we didn't get a chance to wash anything.) The bathroom had a lot of water damage and the shower was sketchy enough that I choose not to use it. For the number of budget hotels/motels I've stayed in, you wouldn't think I'd be very picky. Wrong. Cleanliness is of top priority. This motel 6 hit it. The room and bathroom were clean - I'm talking, I didn't even find a stray hair. The room didn't have any odors either. No nasty carpet! I could complain about the rough towels, or that the mattress isn't a pillow top, but come on people, with taxes a room for two people came to $51.00! That's the best price I've ever seen for a place without bed bugs and used condoms under the bed. The woman at the front desk was exceptionally polite, immediately offered the wifi code, and allowed us to check in 3 hours early.
