I belong to the COFE Originally and although I do…read morelove ''Traditional'' church, I really love it here at SCBC and come here now instead.SCBC is a very warm & welcoming friendly church,it has a congregation of around 500/600 people,is very lively with Contempory modern music played by the churches talented worship band,although we do also through in the odd traditional old hymn.The teaching here is also fantastic,its put across in an easy to understand manner and the services are also very visual as scbc uses DVD presentations a lot in the services.The words of the songs are on a large screen at the front of the church. SCBC is not a Sunday only church,there are plenty of activities and events going on during the week.If you Google Sutton Coldfield Baptist church it will come up with the church website that will tell you more about the church. We also run Christian course such as Alpha,Alpha Plus, & Christianity Explored...we regulary do Welcome Lunches after the morning service for people who are newcomers to the church.The services are 10.30 & 6.30.More people tend to come on the morning service but you do get quite a few on the evening service as well. Everybody is so friendly at this church & our pastor Donald who used to be the Youth Pastor here until the year 2000 is a really friendly & nice guy,as are all the staff here at scbc...so why not give this fantastic church a try..it doesn't matter what denomination you're from...all are welcome at this church....you'll be made to feel really welcome and at home the minute you come through the doors.I highly recommend scbc so do come along...its the best church out of all the Sutton Coldfield churches in my view....followed by Sutton Coldfield URC in Gracechurch centre and Duke Street Chapel in Duke Street & then Holy Trinity & St Peters if you like a ''Traditional Cofe church''...but do come and try SCBC i'm sure you'll love it here as much as I do.I love everything about it...the wonderful praise and worship,the teaching,the atmosphere,the warmth & friendliness...everything.

To be honest, I've not been inside this church for years, but it's not the inside that I'm…read moreconcerned with. St. Peter's is a picturesque old church on the Sutton landscape and situated in the tiny part of the town which goes under the little-used name of Maney (pronounced may-knee). The small grounds are always well-tended and it's a beautiful location to get married at (as my parents did in 1981). When I was a stroppy teenager, one of my favourite places to hang around and think was the public path at the side of St. Peters (but on their land) which runs from Maney Hill Road up to Pilkington Avenue. In summer, the path is in bloom and covered in all shades of green and lots of different flowers. By winter, it's sparse but still a nice place to pass, especially in the snow. My friend and I used to sit on the step of the church tower playing our guitars too. St. Peter's has a small hall at its rear which I once believed to be the St. Peter's Church Hall where the Beatles famously played in early 1963. It's not and it turns out that Church Hall has long since been demolished to make way for the maisonettes which stand on the corner of Maney Hill Road and Birmingham Road. So even though I ended up a disappointed Fab Four devotee (the amount of times I looked into the newer hall and thought 'the Beatles played there!'...) this still a lovely hidden corner of Sutton Coldfield that I've just given away.

This is a really lovely friendly welcoming church..very Traditional with a church choir,organ,pews…read moreetc.I was surprised how friendly everyone was and was made to feel at home.Everyone goes out of their way to speak to you and make you feel welcome.I highly recommend St Peters if you like me are looking for a warm & welcoming family friendly cofe church that has kept to Traditional church services and has not gone Evangelical with Contempory worship. The services are 8am said communion and the main service is at 10.30 till 12.15 followed by refreshments in the main church hall. The church has childrens groups and activities whilst parents can enjoy the service and theres a Mothers Union and a Womens Fellowship group both of which meet here.Theres also a midweek service of Holy Communion on a Thursday morning around ten thirty. The church is set in lovely surroundings,ideal for a wedding.This is a really lovely church...the best in Sutton Coldfield in my views.Do not be afraid to come along on your own...you will soon find people will come and talk to you and invite you to join them for coffee after the service.Everyone here is really friendly,including our vicar Rev Matthew Rhodes. Come Along and give us a try,i'm sure you'll love it here!

This church is okay,but nowhere near as good as SCBC(Sutton Coldfield Baptist church) I found it…read morefriendly enough when I visited a year back but it didn't do it for me i'm afraid.There just seems to be something missing with this church....however you might like it! but after going to SCBC I wouldn't consider going to Four Oaks Baptist church again...it just didn't do anything for me.Also its a bit awkward to get to unless you've got a car. SCBC is a lot lot better in my view but if you want to try Four Oaks Baptist church then do give it a go but if you're looking for a church that has plenty going on during the week..fantastic music & teaching,various Christian courses and a very friendly welcoming atmosphere then SCBC is the one...but do try Four Oaks as well as scbc because you might like this church...it might suit you...especially if you live near to Four Oaks Baptist church.

This is a pretty little church serving the Mere Green flock…read more I was here recently for a memorial service and was taken aback by the serenity and beauty of the interior. With the lights dimmed, and memorial candles ablaze, the church has a truly magical quality. No matter the time of year, it always makes me think of childhood Christmases. The vicar - Bill Moore - is a considered orator and his words are both moving and thought-provoking. What's more, he is entertaining too and takes time to greet each member of the congregation personally! The church has great links with the local community and is especially close to the local primary schools in the area. The church hall is just a few yards away and is used for a variety of community based activities from jumble sales to Zumba!
