Good Day, I am writing this review on behalf of my wife. I recently purchased a manicure session for my wife. This was a first time for her. She had her fingernails cleaned and had extensions put on. The extensions were very nicely done and my wife was impressed. The fingernail extensions were strong enough to last about 3 weeks. When my wifes fingernails started to outgrow the extensions, she thought it would best to have them removed from this same company. Unfortunately she did not have the same person or the same experience to remove the extensions. The girl did not professionally remove the extensions, and it seemed that she had never done that before. The girl took an old knife and tried to cut the extensions from my wife's real fingernails. She did not even allow my wife to have her fingernails soaked in a solution to loosen the bonding agent. After the extensions were finally removed, my wife's fingernails were all damaged and scratched. This made my wife very disappointed with the lack of service she received. Now my wife will never go back to this company. They turned a good service into a questionable service. Sorry about the comments !!! Please try to do better next time. read more

Dirty!! Terrible customer service!! Shellac nails chipped in less than 24 hours!! Nicked and cut many times!! WAY overpriced!!!!!!!! They post one price and charge you higher in the end. Crooked nails. Not sanitary, watched them take another client and didn't sanitize between the clients. Don't waste your time and money. Never again!!!! I'd rate them 0 stars if I could. I went there today, and my experience wasn't terrible. I was really annoyed that I asked for blue nails, and the woman pushed for pink, but all in all there not that bad. The service was decent, I walked in and was immediately treated and for gel nails with airbrush designs it took about an hour. The worst part was the language barrier though. Its ok if u don't speak English that well that really doesn't bother me, but what I really didn't like was that the lady working on my hands and the other employee were talking back and froth to each other in another language right in front do the customers! This place is terrible, my daughter and I went, it was dirty, the owner had his dog there and it was running around, we got our toes done and I was cut. My daughter asked for a manicure and she told them not to cut her nails short but the owner who was doing g them wouldn't listen started cutting them, so my daughter told him to stop and got up we paid for our pedicures and he wanted to charge her for cutting her nails when she said no, he called the police on us and said we were stealing. The cop said this was a waste of her time and left. The owner yelled at us and a customer who was there said we were in thre right because she heard my daughter say don't clip my nails just polish on them. read more

Really not impressed. Salon was SO dirty. Everything was caked in layers of old dirt and polish. I've had acrylics a million times and I've NEVER had anyone apply them as haphazardly as my tech. The gel color wasn't sealed on the edges and became a mess after a few days, my acrylic was lumpy and looked like pictures I've seen in memes of people attempting to do their own acrylic. Many people asked me if I had done them myself. I will NOT be returning and I have shared my experience there with many people I know who get their nails done. read more

Frankly, I'm not really a fan. Much like the neighboring Salon Pandora (see my review), this nail salon is quite hidden, and difficult to find when driving down Sackville Drive. The inside of the building is undoubtedly clean, and set up like most nail salons, but the private waxing room is more cramped than I expected (especially since I was rushed into the room with my bag and coat in tow). To be honest, the waxing area bore striking resemblance to a broom closet... The customer service here is mediocre at best. When I came here for an eyebrow wax, that was just one lady doing every hand's turn, and every time a customer called or came inside the salon, she would abandon my wax to handle the reception area. The remainder of my appointment was rushed so that she could serve the clients waiting in the reception area. When I left the salon, I was confident that my brows looked good- but after the redness faded when I got home, I realized that in her hastiness, the esthetician missed a few hairs, and trimmed one of my eyebrows a bit shorter than the other (it's wasn't an absolute disaster, but nonetheless I was really disappointed.) Bottom line, this place might be alright if you come when the salon isn't busy (middle of the day would probably be most ideal), but it's best to go elsewhere if there are customers waiting for services read more

I needed to get my toes down and my co-worker went here a few times so she told me about this place. I dropped in after 530 and there were two clients getting their nails down and one lady doing their nails. She asked what i was looking to get done and i said a pedicure and she looked over to her left were the chairs were.. the lights were off and that part of the store looked abandoned. I was a little hesitant and when she said '20 min' wait when i know it's going to take over an hour to get those lades nails done i went elsewhere. Not to mention the last time my co-worker went to this place she got colour on her gel nails and the colour wasn't sealed around the edge of the nail so the colour came off rather quickly, and to top it all off they for some reason didn't remove the previous colour so that was starting to show, I have never had that happen at the Princess Nail i go to every month. read more

So I have been to Hollywood nails before, I've gotten my nails and eyebrows done there, but today I went in, looking for acrylics that were nude because my work doesn't like polish, and i started hair school so my nails have to be presentable (I'm a nail biter yikes I know) but I pick out a nude that looks darker in the bottle and she has to put a couple coats on and it looks ok in the store, then I get out in the sun and in my house and it looks like my nails are stained yellow or and i had to paint them again.(pics posted earlier) read more

JUST AWFUL! I've been getting acrylic nails for a couple years now and this was the worst experience I've EVER had. They used old Moamar, chunky acrylic powder and if that wasn't bad enough the implements were not properly disinfect. The nail technician cut me with his electric E-file, burnt my natural nail plate. I had to end the service half way through, I did not pay. This place should be shut down! read more

Stay away. My eyebrows are still flaming red! The woman that worked there doing the waxing was awful. The wax was really hot. When she was putting on the linen to take off the wax, she was pressing really hard into my eyeball! Once the wax was removed and she was wiping off any excess, she used really scratchy tissue paper with very little lotion, and she pressed extremely hard. When I told her she was hurting me, she kept doing it! I told her twice more, but she wouldn't stop. The only way she stopped was by me getting up off the table. I left almost in tears. I walked into a nearby store, and the clerk actually gasped at the state of my face. To add insult to injury, the eyebrows are completely different shapes. Stay away from this place! read more

I've been to many other salons and tommy and Julie are the best ! They only want what will look best on you! They have the best products, they use gel powders and acrylic powders ! I have been a client of theres for many years and have never had a problem. They are two people trying to run a business to support there family. I get my nails done there faithfully every 3 weeks and yes they are busy but that is because they do a great job and everyone loves there work. I am sorry your experience was not the best but had you went back and let them know they would of done everything to make you satisfied. i have gone back to get a nail fixed if need be and have had a pleasent experience everytime. read more

First off let me say Ive gone to Hollywood nails for MORE than 15 years. Sometimes I go every week sometimes I go once every six months. Julie normally does my nails although occasionally Tommy does them.The second last time I had them done Tommy done them and charged me 60 some dollars. I told him Julie normally charges me around $50.00 so he corrected the price. Today I walked in and they were both busy, so I waited my turn and ended up with Tommy again. He asked me what color I wanted, I told him ombre, after he started my nails he informed me he had "no times for games today, pick a color". Well had he said this BEFORE he started my nails, I'd of just said I'd come back at a less busy time. Again he asked what color and I said ombre, same response from him. The third time he said it, I said red will be fine.( On their facebook page the cover photo is a picture of ombre gel nails, which apparently are too time consuming and considered "playing games!!!") I have my cuticles cut as well EVERYTIME I get my nails done. I go to pay (he has $80.00 pushed in on the cash register which really peeved me off!) I pull out my debit card... he points to the bank and says go get cash.....I told him no I can't, its my husbands card (it wasn't, I actually had cash in my purse as well lol) ... Now he punches in $92.00 on his debit machine! Yesssss $92.00 because I had my cuticles cut which according to Tommy is considered a MANICURE too! I have had hundreds of manicures and gel nails over the years and in my experience cuticles are part of my nail experience!!! (I have called around to 8 different salons since coming home and not one salon charges for cuticles separately, its included in the gel nails!) I politely told him I have no problem paying the $92.00 but it will be the last $92.00 he ever gets from me! So I'm going to make a few phone calls and do a few posts starting with better business bureau, the health authority (because yessss the salon is filthy) , NS Association of hairdressing whom license estheticians.... I wonder.... is his daughter whom's doing eyebrows and pedicures licensed? Oh and "debit machine constantly broke" but I used it no problem at all, as well as charging whatever he chooses to instead of whats on his price board....I'm sure there's a phone call for that as well. I had gone to Hollywood Nails a year ago for a basic pedicure. It was fine then, nothing super but okay. My sister was in town so we decided to go for a manicure and pedicure last weekend. There were 2 people working there when we went in on a Saturday AM - our appt was 9:30. The gentlemen there came over and asked if we had an appt and I told him yes mine was a pedicure and my sister a manicure. There were 2 others waiting and 2 getting nail treatments. He eventually called me to come over to the pedicure area. He ran the water in the tub and told me to put my feet in. Then he asked me what colour I picked. I said I haven't picked one and he indicated I was supposed to when I came in. I had no idea. No one told me to and I don't get pedicures that often. I asked for a towel so I could go look and he again told me I should have picked it out. I said "well that should be something you should let the customers know when they come in:". It was like I was really putting him out. So he waved his hand to where I should pick a colour and I picked one. Then the other employee, a lady came over to start my pedicure. I said I had wanted shellac and was this polish I picked out for that as I have never had shellac before. She said no and went and picked out colour for me. I said I didn't like those and she got another. I just went with it as it was obvious I was really begin difficult or so it seemed to them. The service itself was great. They are good at what they do and my sister had french tips and said he was very fussy which is nice. However, the shocker came when on top of the service they charged $35 for Shellac. This was nowhere on their price board and I have seen other spas, etc charge maybe $20 extra for shellac. I though this was a total rip off but our fault as we didn't ask and just made an assumption. Bottom line, they do a great job however their customer service sucks. I even heard the gentlemen say to another customer that in most places the customer is always right but there, not so much. read more

I went here today to get a French manicure, and just typing this is hurting my fingers. It was a man who was doing my nails, and it seemed like he had never done it before. He was so rough with me, made be bleed a total of 4 times, never apologized, and at the end didn't even do my nails properly and it's by far the worst French manicure I've ever had. If you want a relaxing experience to get your nails done well, don't go here... So disappointed. read more

Where do I start. Well first off I don't know how people can give this place a star. Worse place I ever had my feet and nails done. Not clean at all. Don't sterile nothing. Washes the stuff in a sink of running water. The slippers are used over and over again. The man is not friendly by any means. Rude to put it nicely. They do not clean their space or equipment just use thsame things one the next person. So god only knows what you could catch. I have nothing against people talking their own language but in front of costumers. I don't think so. The music. Let me tell you. Number one not inviting or relaxing. In their language n cracking banging n cutting in and out. I much rather listen to water running then that noise. It was so bad he had to shut it off. Go figure. I even had to finish filing my nails when I got home. I would highly advise people to stay away from Hollywood nails in lower sackville. One trillionth of a star is to much for this place. Never ever again. Scary place. If you do go it's a 20 minute wait no matter what your getting. All about the money not the customer. So be where all you fools who steps a foot through the doors of Hollywood nails. My opinion. Have to give a star to post. But like I said not worth the star.
