my daughter and I went for a spa day to get a manicure with gel, nails and a pedicure with shellac. The pedicure was awesome. The manicure with gel nails wasn't so good. My daughter loved her nails but the person cut her finger and then ended up having to glue it together. Yes, it wasn't very deep but it was still a cut. As for my nails, I had gel nails already and I had asked for a refill and hombre nails. The woman said that she could do it and the next thing I know she was cutting my nails and I needed a whole new set which wasn't very good. She had to get help from another person to remove the old gel nails , and then, when I got home, I noticed how the nails on the sides were all coming apart and not very well done. Also, when I went to pay, I told the person that I was paying for me and my daughter I told this to her twice. She rang me and I paid I left. Not long after I get a call saying that I didn't pay for my daughter. I told her that I had already asked her about paying for my daughter. I said I couldn't go back in today, but I would be in on another day. They then called back and asked if I could eat transfer, which was no problem, but then they gave me the wrong email address. Throughout this whole situation I was not once apologized to or felt appreciate it. I will not go back. read more

I've been wanting to get my nails done for a while just never had the time. My friends say that it's a great little place with very nice people. They were not wrong. Martin did my nails and they turned out so so cute. Good price for a full set and it didn't even take that long. My mom enjoyed her mani pedi and wants to go back soon. OK, I'll admit it,,, I went for a pedicure. So there, perfectly manly....though I probably wouldn't have even thought of going had my mother and sister not been nagging the snot out of me since the snow melted and sandal season came into play. I personally thought my feet looked just fine, but anyway..with gift certificate in hand & the admonishments of the females in my life on my mind, I booked an appointment and soon found myself sitting in a very luxurious massage chair that could replace any human masseuse. I also found my size 14s crammed into a very shiny blue bowl with (a little too tepid) bubbling water. Not only does my inconvenient foot size make it difficult to find shoes, the fact that they're about as long as the petite estheticians torso..is probably why she looked so flummoxed. I'm surprised she didn't charge me extra. In any case, she did a pretty good job. I was mostly drifting in and out of consciousness as the effects of the massage chair and foot rub were putting me in a trance. Either that or the smell of acetone coming from my neighbour was numbing my senses. They played MTV music videos throughout the entire appointment, which was nice.. since other establishments I've been to seem to play old elevator music. I'm sure she did a great job, because previously mentioned female relatives were oohing and aahing over my feet.. I wasn't as sure though, it's not like I make a practice of studying the look of my feet on a daily basis. I'm rarely barefoot, and so far my flippers (as they have been referred to both affectionately and not) seem to work just great for walking, so I can't say it was a life changing event entirely.. Anyway it was relaxing, the place was spotless and professional, and someone else paid for it, so why not?? read more

Even though I don't live in the local area, I ventured out to Bedford because of all the positive reviews on Yelp and word of mouth from friends. I don't get my nails done often - but when I do I expect to be able to enjoy it and the (hopefully) lasting manicure. Both times I went this was not the case. The place appears to be very clean and well lit but there is definitely a sense of urgency if you aren't getting more than a basic mani/pedi. I despise fake nails and I felt because I wasn't paying for a more expensive service mine was rushed. I was out of the pedicure station both times with lightning speed and left waiting for a friend I came with. Now to discuss quality - again I'm not expert - but it bothered me that when I got a pedicure only one coat of colour was applied?? (The owner even did my nails once.) And recently when I went for a shellac my pinky nail had lifted the next day. Needless to say I learned my lesson and won't be going back. If I'm going to pay someone else to paint my own nails it better had be an amazing experience. read more

Selfishly, I thought about not writing this review so this little gem wouldn't be harder to book than it already is. I've been here twice and here's why it gets five stars from me: First off, the price. If you're like me, comparing prices is where I usually start when looking for a pedi/ mani. You won't find this kind of price in DT Halifax. Next, cleanliness. This place is kept spotless. When I was there recently for my pedi, the girl was sweeping the floor every 10 minutes. The equipment are sterilized as well. The place feels open and bright, not dingy. Last but not least, friendly staff. I can't say enough good things about my nail artist Tammy. She is skilled and personable. Very good with wax, pedi and nail colours. She chose my nail polish colour for me because she said when my nails grew the colour won't look faded. Didn't want to drive to my normal spot for a pedicure so I decided to try this nail salon. When I walked in it took a minute for someone to ask me what I was looking for. There were a two employees talking near the back and one at the cash. Once they did acknowledge me I said I wanted to get a pedicure and they made me feel like they didn't really want to do it but we're willing to make an exception. Once I was in the chair the lady did a great job on my toes. Just didn't like the first impression I was given! read more

My favourite and go to nail place. The people are sweet, the place is pretty and clean, and the prices are reasonable. I love the online booking they have, it's super convenient. They also have a great selection of shellac colours! It's also nice to know that going into a removal you won't be leaving bleeding or in pain because they actually do it right! All in all, if all nail places could talk this places lead, that would be to their benefit, because this standard is hard to beat read more

After my terrible experience I won't be going back! The nails I had done by jerry were the worst nails I've ever received as well as the price was not as it listed on website. After the fact, I returned the next day after thinking about how awful it was to have spent that $70 on a regular acrylic set and requested to have them redone. The eye rolls and dirty looks along with some offside comments came my way. The did redo them after I sat there for almost 3 hours. Worst experience. Avoid wasting your time and money!!!! read more

I booked an appointment to have gel nails done here as I was not happy with my usual technician anymore. I was sent an email confirming my appointment at a cost of $51 tax included. As soon as I walked in, I should have walked out as the smell of chemicals is OVERWHELMING! I had a headache almost instantly. The male technician who did my nails never introduced himself and was VERY negative when I tried conversing with him. They do not use new files as I had read online and I was not impressed by the rest of the tools being used. When it was done, I was charged $55 PLUS TAX! When I questioned the charge, the girl told me that's what it was. When I got home, I emailed a copy of my confirmation and she responded by saying that it was because I had chosen to use a different gel.....I was never even informed of which product was being used and didn't question it as I had my confirmation of price. I called to discuss the matter further and she told me that the manager would get back to me.....which by the way is the rude technician who did my nails. That was a week ago and I have yet to hear back......save yourself a headache and save your money, go elsewhere!!! read more

Impeccably clean and great service! They were able to accommodate me right away as a walk-in one day and I received an awesome shellac application. It has stood up better than any other shellac I've had done in Halifax and was also super reasonably priced ($23). When I had a tiny chip in the polish of one nail they touched it up for free! Booked a manicure appointment for myself, my mother and my little girl (age 2.5). Shortly after arriving my little girl dropped a bottle of polish and it made a big mess. The staff were great and understanding. On top of all that they did a great job on all of our nails. The space is clean and bright. The price was affordable. I came here on the recommendation of a few friends. I found the staff to be quite friendly, which is a nice change from most spots. I got a full set of UV gel nails, a pedicure and an eyebrow wax. The nails were cute, but we had to change the plan. I wanted really sparkly tips and paid extra for those tips just to have them be barely visible, so we had to paint over the tips with regular polish. Not a big deal, but still wasn't what I was expecting because all kinds of other places can do what I wanted, not sure why they couldn't. Fast forward two weeks and almost all the nails had peeled from the top and 3 fell off completely. Not worth the money. My pedicure was wonderful in the moment. It was after that the problems came about. A cutting tool was used on my callused heels and it felt fine during, but as the day went on I had a lot of foot pain, because my heels were sliced and bleeding from the cutting tool. I couldn't walk properly for a week after, which made former foot problems present themselves again. My eyebrows were done quite well and I loved the esthetician! I won't be returning, but I have seen great results from them, so I'm sad that my experience wasn't the same. read more

This will DEFINITELY be my new nail spot! This is by far the best nail salon in Bedford! If you ask for gel nails, they are actually gel - not acrylic powder that is supposedly "gel powder". I got a great set of nails that were the shape I wanted and look so natural and I only paid $45 including taxes and tip! The employees are so friendly and Bruce is awesome! So friendly and easy to talk to and is super talented - he has tons of experience here and in Toronto! The decor is beautiful and subtle and it is impeccably clean! I hope they get more colours of polish, preferably some more pinks :) I love this place! You will not be disappointed when you leave here! read more

Not a clean and hygienic place to go to, the lady didn't even remove the nail clippings of the other customer before starting my manicure, it was disgusting! Also the place does not have any ventilation so it's a bad environment to be in. read more

I've been to Jadore Nails 3 or 4 times and won't be returning. Bruce does a good job (even though he only briefly worked on mine while the girl who was working on mine left to do another girls nails). The girl that works there made the skin around my nail bleed twice, which made me very uneasy and made me feel like she didn't know what she was doing. I went in to get a fill after this and somehow got her again (I felt too bad to say "can I have a different person please"), so when she finished I went home at about 530pm, My nails were dented and smudged at about 8 am.. I had never had that happen before and I've gotten acrylics for about 5 years now. When I woke up they were even more smudged from sleeping... I went to bed about 7 hours after my appointment by the way.. They looked like crap. I went back the next day asking why it happened and if I could get them fixed. The girl kind of just looked at me and said "Oh.." and sat me down with a different girl. The owner was there, he just made me feel stupid for coming back and told me "well polish doesn't dry completely for about 24 hours, so unless you want to stay here for 24 hrs." The girl who did the bad job even came and looked at them and didn't say anything... No one even apologized for the inconvenience. I had an interview that morning before they opened and had to go with these crazy looking nails. If they handled the situation better it wouldn't have turned me off so much. After a bad experience with my first set of gel nails (from another salon), I found Jádore online and noticed they had some great Yelp reviews and the cheapest price for artificial nail removal I could find. Bruce and another employee whose name I never caught did the removal, both were pleasant and left me feeling confident they knew what they were doing. When I chatted about my bad experience the client to my right said she regularly gets her gel nails done at Jádore and has never had any such issues - and her nails looked fantastic when she was all done. Bruce, the owner, asked f I had phoned back to the previous salon to explain my displeasure and give them the opportunity to correct the situation, which gives me the impression he is a business owner who is receptive to feedback and would listen to any customer concerns. For $17 and change (including tax) the gel nails were removed and my natural nails were coated in a protein based polish and then painted. I was very impressed! read more

I was super impressed with this place. I stopped in on my lunch break for a shellac manicure and was in and out within an hour. At other salons I have gone to, they have been really aggressive with shellac removal and destroyed my natural nail. At J'adore, Tracy was very careful with my nails and removed the Shellac like it is supposed to be removed - first by filing and then by soaking them in acetone. Tracy took the time to discuss my nail shape in detail and finally gave me the shape I've been after for a few years that other salons were not able to grasp. She was very thorough with my service and did not skip any steps. I was also impressed by the significant colour selection they have available, and was not pressured into any "up charge" services such as nail art. The place was spotless, their instruments were disinfected, the staff was professional and Tracy did a beautiful job! I will definitely be a regular customer going forward. read more

I went in a couple of days ago to get a mani and pedi done for my second visit at the spa. My toes were cut so horribly and shaped that their not even proper to look at and hurt. Even my mani was terrible for two of my nails cracked the next day and the paint was layered to the point that it was completely uneven. I am so unsatisifed, I do a better job at home honestly and I sure wont recommend it to any of my freinds. read more

I've been there twice, the first time the person doing my nail service barely spoke to me. The manicure and pedicure were good though and lasted a reasonable length of time. The second time, again they barely spoke to me, the pedicure didn't last more than 8 days and the manicure chipped after 5 days. I'm not likely to go back there. read more

i did not have a good experience at this place. it was 2 days before i was going to ontario, and i was going to get my eyebrows waxed. so i get them waxed and i had gotten them done before but it was my first time there, anyway i found it hurt more than usual, on the ride home i was certain something was wrong because where they had been waxed was in terrible pain. when i got home i looked closer and saw under, on top, and in between my eyebrow was firetruck red & the skin had been teared off. i was in a lot of pain the rest of the night and had to keep an ice pack on them all night. i had to go to ontario with the skin gone all around my eyebrows and the worst part is the owner didn't care, only thing he did was give the money back when basically my whole trip was ruined because i was embarrassed to be in public. read more

I went in to have a mani/pedi. It is a great price however, I must say I did not receive the best service. When I first called the receptionist was very rude and spoke to me as if I were an idiot. While receiving my manicure the receptionist came over to my technician and told him to "check his facebook because she tagged him in something", he then got his phone out of his pocket and the two laughed at whatever was on his screen; quite unprofessional if you ask me. After I was left for a long time, alone, waiting for my nails to dry my technician came back and told me "I was more than ready to go" (It felt as if he went out back and forgot I was there). I looked at my nails and noticed that one was smudged, he asked a girl working there how to fix it and then attempted to smoothen out the lumps and repaint. After 2 more attempts of painting over the top of the damaged coat he said I was o'k to leave, I shouldn't have. I left with a terrible looking nail, it looks creased up and thick . I also left with polish on my skin which is not a very big deal however, I feel as though I have done/could do a better job myself. read more
