I had a manicure done by a technician named Alina. I was supposed to go to a party, but unfortunately I couldn't because she injured all my fingers so deeply that they bled and looked terrible even the next day. read more

I honestly have NO idea whatsoever as to what has happened to this place as of recent and based on my experience, I HIGHLY doubt I'll be back anytime soon and that's a shame because I did like it in the past. So! Let's start at the beginning... I called on Labor Day to see if they were open; I needed desperately the OPI gel manicure and a pedicure. The owner who answered said it was slow and to come in; the sooner the better. Ok...great! So I show up at 12 and explained to her that I called and said what I wanted. The owner asked me to pay later (to which thank God I did!) and pick a color. So this woman said she'd do my nails and told me I had to soak everything off to do the gel manicure. The boss decides to intervene and insist that what I need is a fill-in like acrylic tips. "She is so stupid! She don't do nails so she does not know nothing; you need to soak. I know what you do." This was what my nail tech had to say about her boss right in front of her to me!!! Strike #1 Strike #2: As she is up to cutting my cuticles now, apparently, "her" customer came in for eyebrows and she hallucinated that she wasn't going to at least finish the two fingers she had left for me. "She is MY customer." ummm...last time I checked lady, I'M your customer too! I told her to just go ahead and do the eyebrows; the owner told me someone else could start my toes. Strike #3: my Mexican pedicurist was on the phone the WHOLE time!!! She cut off every last nail I had to such a short length I could have bled! She too in between her phone conversation was arguing with another tech about someone stealing a tip that was left behind for her of $3. Are you serious?! How petty is this place? Totally unrelaxing. Then! The woman who started my nails said she'd finish while I was getting my pedicure. I told her after getting jerked around for 1 1/2 hours that I only wanted a regular manicure now. "We charge $5 to soak off the OPI gel". Well, you can go ahead and wipe your ass with that $5 because I'm not tipping the either of you! I walked right the hell outta there as soon as the clear coat was on; my nails chipped in a day! read more

Not the best kept place in the world but clean enough during your individual service. Managers mostly have the typical "detached" attitude towards customers. Place is light and easy vibe - wish it was cleaner. I come and see Cristina- She gets 5 stars! She's the best! Super Sweet and very professional, pays attn to derail and always ready and able to please. read more

Came here because my usual place randomly switched their hours of operation. This place is two blocks down, the operations hours in the window say they are open till 8 I walked in at 7:05 and they looked like they were ready to leave, a couple came in at 7:30 wanting a pedicure and massage and got sent across the street to their sister salon i guess. I got a regular manicure with the weekly polish. The lady did a nice job, she was very nice. Another lady did my daughters nails (my 4 year old thinks she grown! ). My friend and her daughter joined us and also got good service. There was nothing outstanding at this place and my weekly polish started chipping on day one so I think I will go back to my regular place next time, but would come back here if they are closed again. read more

Hollywood Nail - This is my weekly polish after 5 days, which is a bit disappointing because I can usually pull two weeks on this type of polish. - Nail Salons Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I came here first time ! Looked like every manicurists were available and I used the moment and asked if they can do gel powder. Two Chinese girls started arguing in front of me and one girl was yelling to other on English "I have customer". After this fighting she said that she could do powder. She started doing it like I killed all her family and now she has to get my nails done for me.... I'm so upset that I didn't stop her doing this horrible nails!!!! My nails look ugly now, too thick, she didn't even cut cuticle , didn't even massage my hands and charged $40!!!!When I asked her why she made it that bad, she answered me "YOUR NAILS ARE LIKE THESE". Are you f&)&&king kidding me ??? NEVER EVER! read more

Went here with a couple of friends of mine..called in 10 min before we get there for a manicure and pedicure for 3 and the lady on the phone says yes we have 3 girls ready. We got there, totally understaffed. Made us wait for about 30 minutes finally a lady by the name of Sakura grabs one of my friends for a pedicure. Looked like it started off pretty well only to notice my friend was shoved off the chair after 5 minutes. He asks Sakura what about the pedicure??? She says that is your pedicure. "Your done"! Another person was clearly sitting there before we got in and was still in session. As she put my friend on the back burner she grabbed me for my pedicure. Mine was just as bad. In the meantime our 3rd friend was getting the pedicure of his life from another employee. He and the other employee were laughing for how half ass our service was. All in all I would say stay away from Sakura- unfortunately Sakura gives this establishment a bad name. read more

Yes Yelp, Eek! Methinks not. I get manicures done in a salon maybe no more than 4 times a year. The reason being is that side-to-side nail filing technique, used in most salons, ruins the nails. At home I file my nails in one direction only. Usually after getting my nails done in a salon, one week after the polish chips, so do my nails. But soon after I manage to get them back in shape. Well not after this place! All the bad: 1. It's been way over a month and my nails are still chipping!!!! I see no end in sight. I had to cut my nails to the skin! So angry about this!!! 2. I don't think these people sterilize their equipment. I see them moving their tools from one table to another, but no sterilizing machines. 3. The color started chipping THREE days after my manicure! And I brought in my own Sephora nail polish, that when I put on myself, stayed on for over a week. 4. The girl must have picked up her phone 5 times while doing my nails. I figured I'd give her some slack about that since it was Friday evening and everyone wanted to go home. All in all awful experience. They used to be so good, but after this never going back there again! The number of nail salons on Ave M has baffled me for a while. Turns out the owners of this place are the owners of the one across the street. Few girls have been running back and forth between the two places the whole time I was there. And no, the low price is not worth it! Just go elsewhere! read more

First time going and the last time! The Asian lady in the front ask you to pay first before the service, she didn't want to take any card unless you used the atm machine. Then she take my card and used the nail salon in front of us. She want to charge me 5$ to remove my old gel in my nails. The place wasn't really clean either. Not enough lady's to do your nails. read more

You come to this "factory" to leave with polish on your fingers. You do not come here for a thorough job. You do not come here for a relaxing experience. Came in this past Sunday for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The salon did not have color samples of the gel colors so I was expected to pick a color based on the bottles of the polish (which is never accurate for gel). Because they were slow, I got my nails done the same time as my pedicure. Sounds great in theory, but not when you just paid for a 10 minute leg message you can't enjoy due to your manicurist practically screaming to your pedicurist in Chinese...the entire time. In fact, my manicurist was so consumed by her conversation that she cut me multiple times, despite my repeated "ouch, you're cutting me" remarks (see pics). Needless to say I will never be back. I much prefer Linda's nail salon a few doors down. I would've gone there but they were busy when I came in and I couldn't wait. read more

Owner was rude, disrespectful, cruel to kids and very condescending....will NEVER go back there..Went to this salon with my 7 year old daughter today for the first time. My place was closed for the holiday. I needed a gel manicure and my daughter wanted polish. When I first walked in, all was good. We had to go back, my daughters polish peeled right off (3 hours later). My nail started to crack. I explain that the polish peeled off on my daughters nails and to please take the polish off. She didn't want them repolished. I proceed to explain about my one nail and that it cracked and I wanted to have it fixed. She told me "that was not her fault or the manicurist , but that i did something b/c my nails are weak." She proceeds to say how my daughter was "careless", "she didn't dry her nails long enough" she sat under the fan for over an hour, please...... I say very loudly "my daughter was NOT careless, she sat under the fan for an hour your polish sucks!!!!!Now I go across the street to PINK nails her other salon, and she tells the girls there again how my daughter was careless...now I get even louder here then in the other salon, "I'm screaming "my daughter was not careless, your polish sucks!" Never I was appalled at her unprofessionalism and disregard for kids and the new customer who you should be extra nice to b/c you want them to come back. As she was leaving with her back to me again she says, "she was careless" and walks out. I say even louder your polish sucks! And she says, "I'm done", oh yes you are done. ...look out social media!!!! Felt bad for the workers, they were all very nice..girl who did nails , Maggie did a very good job...her boss is a f&@ken wack job! read more

Even though service has changed a bit over the years, half of the staff still do a wonderful job with mani/pedi. I personally like a few people there, Maria, Christina , Lila. The prices are reasonable , the place is always buisy and sometimes feels like a nail factory. You pay prior to getting service and it's cash only. All the girls doing nails are super nice, however the front desk is as rude as they can be. One time the front desk girl refused to take my $100 bill when my total was over $60 since I was getting wax as well. Other then that it's still worth going there. The job they do is defiantly better then many salons and they have a large selection of nail polishes. read more

I live around the corner from this place for over15 years and I avoid going there, but for last Mother's Day I end it up there because my regular salon was full. Well, had gel manicure and regular pedicure. Gel manicure usually lasts 2 weeks, but by Wednesday the gel manicure started to peel off. I had told the girl doing it not to rush, but sine they need to make moneyWell, I went there on Thursday and the owner would only fix 2 of my nails that Gad chipped, even though the other nails I was sure were going to end up the same. I just told her to do my 2 nails and I told her that I will never return there. If you had a good experience, I'm happy for you. BUT THE OWNER IS MONEY HUNGRY AND IVE NOTICED THAT SHE WORKS THEM LIKE SLAVES, HENCE THE POOR JOB DONE BECAUSE OF RUSHING THEM TO DO MORE CUSTOMERS. read more

My wife and I had been here a couple of times before and they were okay. But today it was a mad house and all the customers were unhappy and wanted their money back. They just take the money an then whatever whenever. They were rushing everything and everybody. The people who do the work are mostly good and hardworking. But the management sucks. They insult the intelligence of their customers. We aren't coming back here again. read more

Pay upfront the service is provided!!! If you love your nails. Don't gp their. They deal with your body as it is a log...

The man/ped in this place when done by certain people are better then average . They cut cuticles well, you do not feel like you came to get your feet washed. Half of the staff do know what they are doing. The prices are avarage, Lily who does wax there is really fast and painless. The front desk people are pretty rude, discussing work issues with the staff that should not be discussed in front of clients. It is cash only and you pay prior to services. And they are anal with the recipts, G-d forbid you misplace it. Saturday's is def the best time to go as its not that buisy. Overall it's worth going to. Would recommend. read more

I went here yesterday with my mom for the first time, wanted to try them out. We both did mani (gel) and pedi, I had Lily/Lilian do my nails. We started at about the same time and Lilian finished my pedi first (about 5-7 min before my mom who was sitting next to me and getting her nails done by someone else). I didnt have gel on my nails so the prep shouldnt have been too long, I told her that I had a few broken nails and that I wanted her to try and shape them to match the rest... well she ended up chopping all my nails all the way to the beds (which hurts since I barely have any nails left). She also cut way too deep into me both in mani and pedi (so its kinds painful to wear socks at the moment). My mom who had gel on her nails originally ended up finishing her mani 30 min before me?! There is absolutely no reason why someone should take this long to do gel nails (I was there from 2:57 and left the place at 4:22PM). I had no choice but stay as I had a party last night and today. I also got my eyebrows done by their lady which cost me $9 for basically almost nothing, she didnt even ask how I wanted them done. I will NEVER come back to this place. If you want your nails to look nice do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Horrible, most definitely the worst nail salon I've been to. Women who was doing my manicure was rude from the begging I could sense that she didn't want to do my nails but I already paid. I asked her to swatch some nail polishes on me and she insisted they were all the same when they clearly weren't and then went on to put on which ever color she wanted from the pile I chose out, she rushed and did a bad job at painting my nails and would not listen when I asked for things to be fixed. After I was done and sat down to dry my nails she insisted I give her a $5 tip, I didn't have cash on me just $1 but she wouldn't take it I felt so uncomfortable and unwanted there I had to leave and I didn't completely understand what she was saying but I'm pretty sure she told me to pay a tip or go home. My nails look atrocious and I'm so upset because my birthday is tomorrow. If I could give it negative stars I would read more

This place is another one of Nina's, which is right across the street. In this shop, the prices are cheaper, although both salons share the same manicurists, who run back and forth, between salons. On one side of the street, the manicures are one price, and on the other, the price is whatever Nina's mood is for that day. In Hollywood nail, the nail dryers are sparse, and awful. The shop is small, and dirty, with another rude member of the Nina family at the front. These people are so rude and obnoxious to the clientele, and they are awful to the staff, who seem to be hard working women. It is terrible to see. They will tell you that you will be taken in 5 minutes, and that can mean a good half hour, if you are lucky. The son of the owner is a weird kid who can scream at clients, and I have also heard him accuse a manicurist of stealing someone's nail polish. He is always on the edge of blowing up. The manicurists try to do a decent job under uncomfortable circumstances for them and the customers. Only go if you are desperate for a manicure and can't find anywhere else to go. really. read more

I now remember why I stopped going here a few years ago. I went there yesterday because it was convenient to where I was . Needed a gel manicure and regular pedicure. ($43). This Place is even more dirty and unkept as I remember. They don't clean the tools, they rinse it in your pedicure water and wipe them off with a towel that may or may not be clean. They then proceed to put the tools into a " medical " looking bag so it looks sterile for the next client. For the hour and a half I was there, I heard at least 4 complaints from other clients. It's impossible to even relax. Especially on a broken pedicure chair. The woman who was doing my pedicure went too deep in my cuticle to now I'm praying I don't get an infection because I'm pregnant. The woman never even asked if I need help with my things. As I said I'm pregnant so it took me a minute to get up and get situated. As for my nails, she was cutting my cuticles so fast that she was hitting in places you shouldn't be and just taking skin off. I had to tell her three times to stop cutting so much. Nail polish was being put on so messy. She kept rubbing the brush on my cuticles and not cleaning off the excess nail polish properly, and when I told her something about it she said with an attitude, I could go to someone else. EVERYONE was already taken and it was almost time for closing. The women who work there are nasty and not polite. It was an all out mess. We pay good money for a service all to leave there stressed. I now learned my lesson to never go back there. It's like going back to a horrible, cheating ex, you just don't go back. read more

THIS IS WORST SALON I'VE EVER BEEN TO!! I got a gel manicure in a pink color in this salon, i come home after the salon visit go about my business, and notice there is NO COLOR on my nails what so ever, its just clear, like a top coat, so of course after paying 23$ and tip i got upset that the color is no where to be seen, i think after washing my hands the shine and color changed while i was at the salon. The next day i go back and i show them my nails and they all tell me its my fault because of the color that i chose, which was a regular pink color that is clearly seen and should be seen on the nails, the girl starts yelling at me and their boss man, and is saying she isn't doing it again, then the boss is asking another girl to do it, who also refuses because they think I'm wrong for saying there is no color......the costumers at the place agreed with me, my coworkers see no color on my nails, and people sitting at the salon actually said this salon always pisses someone off....i ended up going across the street to speak to the wife of the owner, and instead of trying to calm me down and let me finish a sentence!!! she pisses me off completely to a point of where i had to raise my voice, and loose my cool, she ends up telling me that no one forced me to choose such color and that if i want it re done i have to pay money ones again!! I just stormed out. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT, NO VALUE FOR OTHER PEOPLES MONEY IN THIS PLACE....BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU I'M A PATIENT AND POLITE PERSON....BUT THIS PLACE WILL PUSH YOU TO THE LIMIT. I HONESTLY FEEL ABUSED AND WISH I COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING MORE BECAUSE THIS HAPPENED ON SATURDAY AND I'M STILL PISSED ABOUT THIS, AND HOW THEY SPOKE TO ME. IF YOU HAVE SELF RESPECT DON'T WALK INTO THIS SALON!!!!!!!!!! It took so much energy and nerves out of me to even speak to Nina (owner) because she just wouldn't let me finish one sentence! Unbelievable!! Really!! Olessia. R. read more

I have given this place so many chances time and time again. It used to have a nice environment and great staff but as of late it's just been plain putrid. I am officially done coming here for good after my final botched gel manicure. Came on a Saturday and when I asked for a gel manicure the only available ladies argued over who would do it and I ended up getting a fussy old lady named Lilly who ended up takes 2 hrs to do a simple gel manicure. She cut corners and did not soak or cut my cuticles properly. She also left gaps when painting a dark color and did not properly dry the gel polish so I developed air bubbles. On one nail, the gel polish chipped no less than 5 mins after I left. When I nicely told her I was displeased, she mumbled incomprehensibly and blamed the gel polish. Very unprofessional and unpleasant overall. Some side notes: they also have a broken mani pedi chair they seat ppl on regardless of how uncomfortable they will be. The owner is not malicious but is loud, unprofessional, sloppy and most of the time out right rude and pushy. The staff is not friendly and often treat customers like an inconvenience. Not worth ruining your nails in this dump. read more

I only see Maria or Rosa (her sister) for my pedicure. The old man who sits in the front is about as rude as possible, and it often takes me a while to see either Maria or Rosa. But when I do finally get in the chair I have to admit, it is simply heaven. I am super weird about my pedicures, I like it when they cut my ingrown toenails and dig my cuticles out, i know that sounds gross but it is what it is. The ladies are a bit gossipy but hey I would be too. All in all they are a bit obnoxious but by far they are the best ladies I have had do my toes since I moved to BK. I say put on your iPod be prepared to wait and the rest is gravy. read more

THE WORST! . So I went in with my sister to get tips in. we showed the lady the pictures of the nails we wanted and she said they will do it except they didn't do the nail jewelry which was ok with us. I told the boss or whatever she was I wanted pointy nails and she sat me down with lily. Then, lily insulted the way I wanted my nails! She said that pointy nails weren't pretty. So I got up, told her that if she didn't want to do my nails I could go somewhere else. The boss asked what the problem was and I told her that I am paying her to do my nails how I want, not to be judged on how I want them. They convinced me to sit back down to get started and a little while later, I heard they were giving my sister a problem! The boss told the girl to cut my sister's tips shorter because they were going to break and because she never had long nails before. WTH she doesn't know us, how could she possibly assume that??!!. My sister told her that the length was perfectly fine because it's not like she didn't have them that long before. we didn't like how we got treated by her and I didn't like how lily did my nails. Although she did an ok job putting them in and she took her time, she didn't even do the design I wanted! Plus, I told her I wanted them shorter and she disagreed with me and she didn't even do the colors I wanted. Unfortunately, we paid before we did our nails and I feel stupid for that. read more
