It is my first time actually having a Chinatown funeral and going to a cemetery in New York. This cemetery did seem quite peaceful and the burial plot was overlooking the city across the way. I thought it was nice and also that even in the burials there was already a community of people with all their English names with their Chinese names as well. This cemetery is big so there were a lot of plots and many gravestones. We spent quite a while here but time actually felt like it went by so quickly. It is a great resting place.

I…read morespent a day googling funeral homes and cemeteries and chose St. John's because it's a Catholic cemetery and not that far from where my dad lives so it would be easy for him to get to. The front desk staff was fairly friendly and the gentleman that helped us purchase the plot was very helpful and walked us through everything. He was also patient with me, in terms of decision making because I was in a total fog since it was barely 48 hours since everything happened. Once we finished the paperwork the gentleman walked us over to the actual location of the gravesite and showed us. On the day of the funeral everything went seamlessly and they did a great job of coordinating with the funeral home. They coordinated well with monument place when we purchased a headstone later in the year. It is definitely expensive but worth it for what you get. I appreciate that maintenance is included and we don't have to pay that on top of everything else you pay for. The location of the gravesite is perfect, about 2 mins from the entrance on Metropolitan. I appreciate the cleanliness of this place, every time we visit Mom's gravesite is clean as well as the surrounding areas. They also communicate well throughout the year, they will send you a flier for seasonal flowers as well as other mail for other things that may need to be addressed. If you are a Catholic and have a Catholic family member that needs a burial I would recommend this place.

Then Anthony said " I got you" and I told him about my brother (school teacher who loved and breathed everything super hero) Anthony creates a X Men Themed program (attached for your amazement) Sonny our brother was super imposed on wolverines body, hero's gathered around his casket and mourned him. The art work and imagination was incredible!!! This wasn't some stock card ! Anthony listened and created a theme for our beloved Sonny. He even made key chains for us. He DID THIS IN 24 hours !!!!

I used Keepsake Memories for funeral programs after the passing of my brother. Because of the…read moretiming of the funeral, I had very little time to get the programs printed and felt pressured to make a quick decision. I reached out to Anthony, and unfortunately, I regret using his company. Looking back, I should have listened to the three red flags I noticed, but I moved forward out of desperation. Red Flag #1: I requested to see a single printed copy before all programs were printed. Anthony said that would not be possible, even though I was willing to meet him anywhere at his convenience. Red Flag #2: I asked for a specific delivery time. He said he could only guarantee the programs would arrive before the funeral service, but could not provide any further details. Red Flag #3: I asked if I could pay a portion upfront and the remainder upon receiving the programs. He required full payment before printing. Anthony did deliver the programs before the service, but the quality was very poor. Although the paper weight was what we discussed (still thinner than expected), the bigger issue was the print quality. The images I sent were full-bleed (printed to the edges), but the programs I received had white borders around them, and the print quality looked like something produced on a home printer. In my discussion with Anthony regarding my dissatisfaction with my order, he mentioned sending me pictures of previous work, but there was no way for me to know my programs would have borders when the original files I provided did not, nor that the print quality would be so disappointing. Thankfully, I also ordered another set of programs from an online company. They charged me less, delivered within 48 hours, used glossy cardstock, and provided a proof before payment so I could see exactly what the finished product would look like. Using Keepsake Memories/Anthony was a mistake. I'm sharing this so others understand what they may be getting into when working with Keepsake Memories, especially during a vulnerable time when families are grieving and under pressure.

My father's funeral was very complicated for many reasons and needed lots of coordination between NY and NJ and police depts, security people, special requests, etc etc. Trip Moriarty (Hugh Jr.) handled everything in the most professional way and went way beyond the call of duty for me and my family! He worked tirelessly and put in time even on the weekends to help plan and coordinate. This funeral was absolutely amazing and I couldn't have pulled it off without Trip and his father Hugh and of course, the entire staff. I felt like he was my family by the time it was over and I will be forever grateful. What a great family and company! I'd give 10 stars if I could.

Fairhaven on Fulton Street My late evening/early nighttime call to Mr. Sheppard was returned immediately as I was in the hospice unit at MJHS in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn. 'No worries Ms. Wyatt' I was told as my mom lay across the room already gone home. We will contact the facility and take it from there'. That helped because it was after business hours and knowing someone responds after 7pm or later makes it less weird to do this business. I felt as if we were at 2am, I would have received a returned call and comforting response to ease my thoughts. A day later, a brief meeting and call with my sister to share the family wishes included an exchange of information. We picked a date, and they provided everything else at quite a reasonable price based on our needs and wishes. Even a place for the repass was recommended when we couldn't identify somewhere close to the church where we held services. The docs and the arrangements are a huge part of selecting someone knowledgable but in the end it's about the things like being sensitive to the needs of the guests of the family, providing an atmosphere that respects the deceased. Someone who can receive flowers and acknowledgements and make sure they are present at the church. The Fairhaven Funeral Chapel did an outstanding job for my inexperienced family at A time we were broken. The services were outstanding, memorable and were more like a celebration of life than morbidity and loss. I have told my niece to use them for me when the time comes. They are wonderful and I am proud to be their Yelp reviewer and and answer any questions posed to me. Do not hesitate to use them. They are also culturally sensitive so they have a broad and knowledgeable reach which helps also very much. Though we are black and baptist, I would trust them no matter my race or religion, burying locally or shipping remains. They do it all. She gave me the information and said when I did come to visit they would give me a map and show me how to get there. I asked if I could ask for her when I do go, she said yes and that her name is Olga. A couple of weeks later I did visit the cemetery and found Olga working in the office. She remembered our conversation and gave me a map with the directions, she was very kind and offered her condolences for my loss. I was actually thinking I would be given the information and be on my own. However it was totally opposite, she was very helpful, knowledgeable, and her voice and tone was that of an Angel. She made what was for me a very difficult situation totally manageable. Thank you Olga for all your help, you're a very special person.
