So me and my now husband got married this past weekend. Before that, we never boarded our dogs…read more We've had one dog for 5 years!" and maybe boarded him twice when he was a little puppy. And one dog that's about 9/10 months old and never boarded her. I emailed them before dropping my 5 year German Shepard, Bear, off that he has really high anxiety levels and that he doesn't like to play with other dogs. They were SO accommodating when it came to him. They loved on him the moment he walked through that door and I could tell they were going to do whatever they could to make him comfortable. They also put up with my 1000 questions and directions. And were very patient with me as I wanted to say good bye and comfort him a little. I was so embarrassed to be THAT owner but I didn't care and they didn't seem to care either. They even allowed me to walk him back to his pen personally so I could get him situated. Of course the puppy had no issues and just wanted to go play with the other dogs. It was so comforting leaving them there. I called them once that afternoon just to check up on them and the girl on the phone was sooooo sweet. I was so comforted that I didn't even call the rest of the weekend. I knew they were in good hands. When my mother in law went to go pick them up, she said that bear looked like he barely wanted to leave! And he loves his Grammy! So again, I felt incredibly comfortable. It was a little bit of a drive for us but to be honest, I may never try another kennel again. Such a great experience. Such a great staff. Thanks Creekside for taking care of my babies!!

I have boarded my dogs here twice and have had them groomed here often for years. Since they bought…read morethe bfur and after groomers, creekside's attitude has gone downhill. The groomers are professional, but the behavior of the owner/manager has become unacceptably rude. Today was the last straw. I had purchased a gift certificate months ago before COVID surged. I bought it from 2 of our dogs that go there often for another dog who has since gone back to its owner. I asked if I could use the $45 from the certificate for today's groom. Now, if she has said "no we don't let people transfer them between pets," or "no, it's not recent enough," or "no you'll have to use it another time because you didn't tell me at drop off," I would have understood and would not likely be writing this review. BUT NO! She stood there and repeatedly accused me of printing it at home and lying. She insisted she's the only one authorized to print them. That may be so, but as I told her, it was a young girl at the desk who sold it to me about 4 grooms ago. She printed it right on the printer in the front area. Then, the manager accused me lying because I didn't tell her about the certificate when I dropped the dog off, but I wasn't sure at that time if I could even find it. Again, if that was an issue, couldn't she offer to let me use it the next time? Couldn't we compromise on a lesser amount? Or couldn't she let me know the certificate couldn't be used without accusing me of forging it!!?? I'm a regular customer. She could have easily said no without standing there for two+ minutes yelling at me and accusing me of forgery like a mad woman. THEN to top it off, she swore and slammed the desk door, yelled "after dealing with COVID for a year, I'm done!" And then slammed the door to the kennels. I wouldn't want this woman near my dogs again. I don't need her $45. However, I expect respect and appropriate responses to questions. Not accusations and rants. Looking forward to finding a new boarding and grooming facility that deserves my business. ---- Update: This morning, the owner called and admit she found the record of someone selling me a certificate in Jan 2020. I appreciate that she refunded yesterday's visit, but she failed to apologize or express accountability for the incident.

GRRA is quite good overall. They have some wonderful dogs and most of the fosters and…read moreemployees/volunteers are quite friendly. The process is lengthy, with an application, a home visit, the meet-and-greet events, etc. They treated us much better than another local rescue place. Keep in mind that they have a preference for families where at least one person works from home, stays at home, or lives close by so they can come by regularly. We did not check those boxes since we both work full-time (though we did have a dog door for them to go in and out), so were not deemed a fit for certain dogs there. However, other fosters were definitely interested in us. Their dogs are truly taken care of and they do great work. Plenty of others interested in the dogs though, so make sure you attend the events. We ended up finding an amazing GR elsewhere who was a great fit for us but GRRA is a quality place and they love their dogs. They treat applicants better than some similar places as well. So I'd try a place like GRRA or even a humane breeder with healthy dogs if you want a GR specifically, and also consider rescue places, Humane Society, etc. if you are open to other breeds (and GRRA sometimes has doodles, mixed breeds, etc.)

The wonderful volunteers at GRRA made our adoption process super easy. An important note about GRRA is that they meet and exceed all government and accepted standards. Everything they do is for the welfare of the dogs. Every applicant and volunteer has to be interviewed and have a home inspection check. Every dog has the most thorough vet care before they can be adopted. GRRA is the best.

This rescue organization will always have a special place in my heart. We got our Rottie/GSD mix…read morefrom them about 2.5 years ago. They were very careful to make sure that they were placing the dog in a safe home, and came out to inspect our property. They also had us commit to getting him neutered (which they paid for) and also microchipped. Our dog, Max, is one of the best things that has ever happened to us. They saved he and his brothers and sisters from being put down after they were found by the DeKalb Animal Control in a dumpster at Perimeter Mall. This is a really wonderful place from which to adopt a puppy or dog. I am so glad that we went the Mutt Madd-ness route instead of adopting from a pet store.

This is long, but Tenasity SAVED my dog's life!!! Three trainers told me to put Hollywood down…read more Tenasity changed our lives and saved my boy. I adopted a 3-year-old Dobbie / Rottie mix from a rescue group in NC. They said he was great with people, dogs, and kids. We drove from GA to NC to pick him up. He had scars on his body and was so still. He never barked or wagged his tail... just seemed so sad. The physicality was poorly kept and in horrible conditions. After seeing him, I was not about to leave him there. My husband drove us back while I lay in the back of our SUV with Hollywood. As soon as we got him home, I took him for a walk. Someone passing by said beautiful dog and he lunged at them to bite them. I was so scared I had to call my husband to pick us up. Then later that night he also tried to bite my husband. I called the rescue group back and they said to put him down. That they would not assist in any way. I then enrolled him into good citizens K9-Coach. He was kicked out. Next was Zen... which is for aggressive dogs. Yet he got kicked out of that too for going after the trainer, I then took him to a 3rd trainer. She noticed that he was guarding me. She asked how long have we had him; which was a little less than 2 weeks at this time. Yet, just in that short amount of time, he became very very protective over me. We also noticed each time he hear a kid cry or scream on the TV that he would go after the TV. At this point, I had no idea of what type of past he had but he was definitely abused. I came to the realization that he would never have a normal dog life. That he would never be able to be around other people or dog parks. Even at vet visits Hollywod had to wear a mussel and then the vet would give him a sedative shot while in the lobby just to calm him down enough he could check him out. My vet gave me Tenasity's info. I called and set up an apt. Calvin came out to meet Hollywood. Hollywood had to be created because he would not stop going after Calvin. Calvin sat next to his creat for 45 min until he calmed down. then we took him out of the create to start working. All of the previous trainers said to put him down. After our work with Calvin, I started to see little differences in his personality. If my husband tried to hug me; Hollywood would growl but not go after him. Baby Steps Hollywood started trusting us more and more. We kept working with Calvin weekly. We did everything he asked us to do with him. 8 months later ... yes 8 months... working with Hollywood every day and training with Calvin. Hollywood, was able to be in public. We did walk together, He even got to go to the dog park with my other dogs. Hollywood turned into such a Diva. He did not like to get dirty Or be in the Rain. But he finally got to make that choice. We were even able to take him over to White water creek which is a water dog park with people, kids and their dogs all running free. All I can say is if you love your dog and you are willing to put in the work. Tenasity can help you have a loving peaceful home. The funny thing is Hollywood became the welcome committee at the dog park. He only wanted to be around people vs playing with the other dogs. So he would go from person to person just to be loved and give love back. He was with me for 8 precious years before he passed away. But the amazing thing is; because of Tenasity those 8 years were great for him too! I can't thank you enough for helping me bring out his best and loving side! I hope that if anyone has a dog that seems to be too much; please give Tenasity a try and don't give up on your pet!
