I went to Tenasity Dog Training as a last resort with my girl. I loved her dearly, but she became very aggressive with my husband and was biting him and our other dog almost daily. I had tried other trainers, shock collars, medications, etc. It came to a point where I needed to find someone that would work with her aggression, or I would have to euthanize her, so I reached out to Tenasity. Gabe came to my apartment to see my dog, and while he was there, she attacked our other dog right in front of him (requiring our other dog to need emergency surgery). Gabe stated that he thought the chances of her successfully overcoming the aggression and staying with us would be highly unlikely, but gave her a favorable outlook in a different setting/environment. He said that he would train her to a point where she could be rehomed, or if he felt she wasn't safe to do so, would keep her himself. Gabe promised me if I did this, I'd get updates about her progress, photos, and videos, etc. to make it easier on me. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but I decided to relinquish my dog to them with the hope that they could help her and give her a new home. This cost $2,500. Since that day in August of 2020 I have not received a single photo or video of her progress. I called multiple times, left voicemails, emailed, messaged on Facebook, etc. I even called crying once. I couldn't get a call or email back. We even called/texted Gabe's cell phone, but he completely ghosted us. I just wanted to know if she is okay and doing well. I'd like the updates I was promised. Heck- I don't even have proof of life!!! Andrew has always been very nice when I call, and he has given me a couple verbal "updates," but I haven't seen any proof that she's alive and well in almost a year- since the day after giving her to Gabe. I'm giving a 2 star review in hopes they actually did what they said they would do with my girl. I had hoped for $2,500 I at least could have gotten a postcard about her progress or SOMETHING! read more

This is long, but Tenasity SAVED my dog's life!!! Three trainers told me to put Hollywood down. Tenasity changed our lives and saved my boy. I adopted a 3-year-old Dobbie / Rottie mix from a rescue group in NC. They said he was great with people, dogs, and kids. We drove from GA to NC to pick him up. He had scars on his body and was so still. He never barked or wagged his tail... just seemed so sad. The physicality was poorly kept and in horrible conditions. After seeing him, I was not about to leave him there. My husband drove us back while I lay in the back of our SUV with Hollywood. As soon as we got him home, I took him for a walk. Someone passing by said beautiful dog and he lunged at them to bite them. I was so scared I had to call my husband to pick us up. Then later that night he also tried to bite my husband. I called the rescue group back and they said to put him down. That they would not assist in any way. I then enrolled him into good citizens K9-Coach. He was kicked out. Next was Zen... which is for aggressive dogs. Yet he got kicked out of that too for going after the trainer, I then took him to a 3rd trainer. She noticed that he was guarding me. She asked how long have we had him; which was a little less than 2 weeks at this time. Yet, just in that short amount of time, he became very very protective over me. We also noticed each time he hear a kid cry or scream on the TV that he would go after the TV. At this point, I had no idea of what type of past he had but he was definitely abused. I came to the realization that he would never have a normal dog life. That he would never be able to be around other people or dog parks. Even at vet visits Hollywod had to wear a mussel and then the vet would give him a sedative shot while in the lobby just to calm him down enough he could check him out. My vet gave me Tenasity's info. I called and set up an apt. Calvin came out to meet Hollywood. Hollywood had to be created because he would not stop going after Calvin. Calvin sat next to his creat for 45 min until he calmed down. then we took him out of the create to start working. All of the previous trainers said to put him down. After our work with Calvin, I started to see little differences in his personality. If my husband tried to hug me; Hollywood would growl but not go after him. Baby Steps Hollywood started trusting us more and more. We kept working with Calvin weekly. We did everything he asked us to do with him. 8 months later ... yes 8 months... working with Hollywood every day and training with Calvin. Hollywood, was able to be in public. We did walk together, He even got to go to the dog park with my other dogs. Hollywood turned into such a Diva. He did not like to get dirty Or be in the Rain. But he finally got to make that choice. We were even able to take him over to White water creek which is a water dog park with people, kids and their dogs all running free. All I can say is if you love your dog and you are willing to put in the work. Tenasity can help you have a loving peaceful home. The funny thing is Hollywood became the welcome committee at the dog park. He only wanted to be around people vs playing with the other dogs. So he would go from person to person just to be loved and give love back. He was with me for 8 precious years before he passed away. But the amazing thing is; because of Tenasity those 8 years were great for him too! I can't thank you enough for helping me bring out his best and loving side! I hope that if anyone has a dog that seems to be too much; please give Tenasity a try and don't give up on your pet! read more

I have been associated with Khalvin and Gabe since 2021. I met them through Homeless Pets Foundation and have watched them perform miracles with many homeless pets; they worked with as volunteers to help get theses dogs adopted. They gave their time and energy to help so many dogs who came from unknown situations. They have helped me numerous times with my dogs who were adopted from Homeless Pets. I have referred so many of my friends and coworkers and they have done amazing things to help train, teach and transform their dogs into a pet they can enjoy and love. I started with Tenacity Dog Training in 2018 when I adopted my first dog, I had such a good experience that I went back to them when I wanted my second dog be trained to for training when I adopted my second dog, an Australian shepherd, two years later. The trainers are not only very knowledgeable and experienced, they care about your dogs very much. Horrible customer service. They don't honor their commitments. I was supposed to receive two free sessions as a Petland customer after I purchased my dog last month from PetLand. I was told they would be virtual via Zoom and that I would receive an email with the Zoom link. I never received the Zoom info ever. I have verified and re-verified my email address with Andrew several times. No results. have scheduled the appointments every Sunday from 7/11 to 7/25 and I keep speaking to Andrew at Tenasity who keeps apologizing and saying it's a miscommunication and it won't happen again. However it has happened three weeks in a row. A total scam business. Don't use their service. read more

I have taken my fear aggressive guy (now passed as of March 2019) and my particular chow girl (10 years old) to Tenasity for 3 years. They are a god send for dogs that are not well understood (fearful, timid, aggressive for all of the above). I appreciate they don't have forced doggie daycare - not all dogs like that and take them out frequently during the day. My sensitive guy always did well there and came back to me as well as he left. I appreciate their knowledge and care. I hope one person who had a different experience has talked with them and knows why. Amazing! We bought a Cane Corso at 8 weeks old and Gabe began training him at 10 weeks. On the first visit, he had Rocky doing 3 different commands AND most importantly, Rocky loved him! Every time Gabe would come to do in-home training, Rocky would spend the first 5 min loving on Gabe! That's the sign of an amazing trainer - when the dog learns from and loves him! We met tenasity after a bad fight between 2 packs (one with 5 dogs, and one with 4) that are family. We now have 6 dogs and couldn't ask for better people to train and take care of our babies. We have left them with tenasity multiple times for as long as a month. They always come back home trained even more than before. Tenasity has done such a wonderful job with my dogs. Gabe has been working with 2 of my rescue pitties for the past 2 years now. Both of my dogs are behind socially and are very fearful and nervous. My older dog Baloo has made huge strides and loves people and going places now. His favorite thing to do is run with his mommy at the Greenway. A few years ago that never would have happened. My younger dog Chloe is much worse than Baloo, but is slowly coming around. She is becoming more open to people and new things. Chloe has been letting my groomer bathe her and clip her nails!!! Gabe has so much patience and is so sweet with her. Gabe and his entire staff have been so amazing and accommodating through this process. I paid up front for several training sessions - the only way they will let you buy sessions 100% in advance. This was a mistake. We did 2 of our 3 sessions and scheduling with them was terrible at best. It only got worse. We were supposed to do a training session one day in the park. Tenasity said they would call me to reschedule if it rained. When I checked the weather that morning, it was going to rain all day without stopping. *I* was the one that called Tenasity to point this out and to move our training to another day. Over the phone they said they would call me back to reschedule. They never did. A month later, I reached out to try to reschedule, and was told again they would get back to me. They never did. It has been *SEVEN MONTHS* of trying to schedule my last training with them that has already been paid for and they refuse to actually reschedule, or now even return my calls or emails. They are completely ignoring any form of communication and refuse to refund the money I paid for the last session that they will not schedule. They are horrible and whoever is in charge of the phone/email needs to be fired. Also at our last training I asked about potentially bringing our other dog in for training, they said they would check pricing and get back to me - surprise surprise, they NEVER DID. This is beyond inexcusable. They have taken my money and run. In addition to this, I have heard from multiple friends that also used Tensaity that they are having the same problem and to top that off, their trainers are telling pet owners to withhold food and use it as a training resource. This is despicable and abuse! We will be contacting not only the bank, but also the appropriate authorities. IF they should answer your call or email DO NOT give your money to these people. read more

PLEASE SO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! We trusted the Tenasity location at 2900 P. Tree Industrial Blvd, Duluth, Ga 30097 with our sweet girl and she came back ABUSED, WOUNDED AND WITH PTSD. Facts: She had 2 identical wounds on her front paws and scabs under her neck when we got her back. She now has scars on paws where wounds were. We cannot touch her neck. We had her back on a Friday and took her to the Vet immediately Monday. This dog loves people and would NOT let the Vet anywhere near her neck, she tried to bite the Vet. She also came back with severe Diarrhea. We thought it was just from the trauma she seemingly experienced, but we now know she has Giardia. She DID NOT have Giardia when we dropped her off. Her personality is completely changed. She will not play with her toys, get on the couch with us, take treats from our hands, she hides in her crate (which she has always loved). We are heartbroken for her! We will get her back with tender love and care, but she was a rescue so it will be slow going. We only her brought her to Tenasity for ONE aggression issue towards bicycles. They DID NOT EVEN ADDRESS IT! They simply scarred her emotionally and physically for life, in our opinion, doing God knows what to her. We also spoke with a lead Staff Member about our concerns and he claimed "we do not use shock collars". HOWEVER!!! After a very long phone call, the same Staff Member must have forgot he said that, because he THEN SAID "we never use shock collars unless the owner agrees." More lies and denial from these people. It is clear to us the scabs under her neck are Burns from Shock Collar. The Vet got close enough to conclude they were not puncture wounds. It is unacceptable and unforgivable to hurt an animal. Please do not put yourself or your animal through what we are going through and our sweet girl. read more

I don't know where to begin when describing my experience with Tenacity Dog Training. I have owned dogs all my life, and have been a large breed owner almost exclusively (Rottweiler German Shepherd, Great Pyrenees). On top of that, I have fostered dogs of all types for the past 14 years. I currently have four dogs of my own: 2 Lab-Pit mixes, 1 Great Pyrenees and a Rottweiler. As yo can imagine, with a pack like that, things could easily get out of control. However, Gabe and Tenacity Dog Training entered my pack and they took my dogs to a whole new level. I work, a lot, and had trouble getting my dogs to them, so they came to me which was a huge advantage. Training them in their own environment, with the unique challenge of my home and surroundings really made a big difference. The genuine love, affection and respect that Gabe gave to my dogs, and they gave back was remarkable. To watch him work all four dogs (2 from when they were puppies), to have them all sitting looking up at him, seeing them in a down-stay while he walked around the house, something I struggled with was amazing. And remember when I said I fostered dogs? when I introduced a new foster to my pack, Gabe was right there. He would include my fosters in the training and I was always able to send my foster to their forever homes with some basic training-Tenaclty's gift to their new forever homes. I even had some of the new families solicit Gabe for ongoing training. I love how he provides me and my kids videos of what he did in the session so we can practice. I find myself referring back to them when I need a refresher. And finally, I like the way Gabe trained my family. He taught us how to be better with the pack; my son who travels a lot and is not always home, so Gabe showed him how to be reintroduced to the pack after a long time away. He taught us the best way to socialize them into a crowd with field trips to the store and in the car. Tenacity will always be a part of my pack and I am grateful for that, especially with a breed like the Rottweiler (public perception and all) I have to make sure my pack is tight, and with Tenacity I have that. Tenasity dog training helped my dog Mr.Dalvin become accustomed to my new kitten. I am scared when I brought our new kitten home because Mr.Dalvin has hunter tendencies and aggression to other animals I was not previously aware of. I'm very disappointed in Tenasity, mainly because they've been refusing to communicate with me regarding a refund. As a result, I've just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I had hired Tenasity for the in-home training of my young puppy. I cancelled my dog's training after 2 sessions for two reasons: #1- Two days before the second session was supposed to happen, Tenasity called to cancel the session because the trainer had suddenly left the company. The next date they had available was 30 days out! My puppy's first training session was in January, the second in March. In-between I was looking up training articles and YouTube training videos so I wouldn't miss out on such a critical time in his development. #2- None of the trainers were as knowlegeable as Gabe (who did the evaluation, and was awesome). They were both just okay. While Gabe gave amazing insight into my puppy's behavior, the two trainers I had were just giving the type of answers you see in typical training videos. I had pre-paid half of the standard training package (with the all in-home training upgrade). When I called to cancel the training (stating the reasons above), I asked what refund to expect. The man I was speaking with told me he'd have to check with "the back office" regarding the amount, but would make a note to call me first thing the next day. That was 2 weeks ago. He never called back. I've left two messages and received no replies. I even left a comment on the Tenasity Facebook page today requesting that I be contacted, but it was deleted within a few hours. I'm being completely ignored. This is horribly unprofessional customer service, and as a result, I doubt I could ever trust Tenasity enough to do business with them again. If you choose to hire them, be careful, and only pay half up front! read more

Here is my family's story. Please understand that this has been a life changing experience for our entire family and pack of dogs. It all started in December 2016 when we realized that our new puppy was very special and knew that she would benefit from training. Little did we know how very important this one decision would positively affect our world! Tenasity had been recommended to us from an in-home dog caregiver and I gave them a call. Gabe came out to our house for an in-home visit to meet our little lady. From moment one, I knew that he was very caring and a true lover of dogs. Further, he listened carefully to our needs and advised us of how to approach her training. We instantly agreed and before you know it, he was coming every two weeks to assess and CUSTOMIZE training to meet our puppy's needs. He videotaped his sessions, so that we could then replicate it, making it routine for our puppy. Dog training is not one size fits all, and as puppies develop, needs change, and they require expertise to help them become the best they can be. Now, our puppy just turned one last week and our friends and co-workers can't believe how easy it was for her to get through the "puppy stages" and how quickly she has developed in both agility and obedience. You see, they have handled very difficult cases from various rescues with a great deal of success. They also have taught all types of therapy dogs to service and support people in need. Tenasity is the epitome of top notch training and I can't thank them enough for what they've done for my sweet rescue pup. I worked specifically with Khalvin, but the entire staff is absolutely incredible, attentive and caring (Shout out to Rell for making me feel so special anytime I had questions or concerns - you ROCK!). If you are looking for the BEST/most professional dog training in the area, well, you've found them. My puppy (although perfect in every other way!) had severe resource guarding issues, which I needed to get under control immediately because it can be very scary behavior. Not to mention, a little basic obedience couldn't hurt! But, Tenasity got me booked for my first session with Khalvin very quickly because I was panicked that I couldn't control my dog, and the 1st at-home training session was the start of the best dog-related experience I have ever had! Just watching Khalvin (or anyone on their staff) interact with my dog is the best part because they treat each dog like their own, and THAT alone should be proof to why they are the absolute best. Not to mention, my dog goes absolutely NUTS every time she sees Khalvin, which is so sweet. Thank you guys for helping get my dog under control!
