My family and I touched and played with the kittens through the cage, as any person would. About 5 minutes after touching and playing with the kittens, the store employee advised us that the kittens have ringworm. I am very concerned that my family and pets will end up with ringworm now as it is very contagious. There was no sign or anything on the cage to warn people to not tough these cats or that they have ringworm. I can't understand why a pet store would have cats out in the open for public to touch/pet that have ringworm! The employees couldn't have cared less either.

This was in addition to their selection of adoptable cats and fish, which weren't quite as remarkable but were still a nice option. Other than their live animals, I wasn't really impressed with their food bar, as I've seen much better at other pet stores. In addition, their self-dog-washing station wasn't as large or as nice as comparative stores, and their selection of toys was also lacking. All-in-all, this store is worth visiting and browsing around if you're interested in adopting a pet, but for anything else, I'd probably go to a different pet store.

Was about to walk down the treat aisle when I was told I had 5 minutes in a lovely condescending manner. That's fine. Just going to grab a few bags. Never felt so rushed to hurry up and was checked out about 3 minutes to close. I get people want to leave and have stuff to do before they can leave the store themselves. But the girl there rudely repeated "this side, this side" - the second time louder and more condescending in regards to the counter side. Didn't even get a chance to put my number in for rewards. Threw my shit on the counter and it started rolling off but she didn't care. Then stood by the door waiting for me to grab my bags so she could lock up.

Moving to Chapin, I was pleasantly shocked that there was a Woof Gang right in town. We love it and our big 120+ lb baby loves it too. We don't do regular grooming, he doesn't need it because of the breed and double coat, but every 3 months or so, we'll take him in for a deshedding appointment and they always do a great job. The price is a little higher than what I've heard from other places around here, but to us it's worth it for the convenience of Woof Gang being so close, clean and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

While the missed appointment ultimately resulted from my own scheduling error, no effort was made by the shop to contact me on the day of the appointment--no phone call, no text, and no email. The only indication that there was an issue was a $40 charge that appeared on my credit card statement. When I called to inquire about this unexpected charge, I was told it was their policy for missed appointments. When I asked to speak with a manager or owner, I was informed they were unavailable. I rescheduled my dog's appointment and was told management would follow up, but I never received any communication from them. At the time of pickup from the rescheduled appointment, the manager was finally available to address the matter. The interaction was completely unprovoked yet notably discourteous and dismissive. I was informed that the total would be $80 for grooming and the $40 missed appointment fee, would not be waived or refunded. The manager then added, without any prompting on my part, that there were 17 other dogs on a waiting list. It is also important to note that point-of-sale systems such as Clover typically require clear consent to store card information and authorize future charges, especially for fees assessed in the customer's absence. No such authorization was disclosed to me, nor did I sign any document permitting this type of charge. The combination of poor communication, rigid policy enforcement, and a dismissive attitude toward the customer is deeply concerning. I previously used Kane Family Pet Grooming, who provided better quality grooming at a lower price and consistently demonstrated integrity and effective communication. They will be missed. Unless there is a significant change in culture and customer service at this business, I cannot in good conscience recommend it to others.

During our time in Columbia we spent weekends at our primary residence in coastal SC and had to take the pups at varying times to a 24 -hour veterinary center when they became ill. Every single time, Dr. Macauley called us to follow up! She even called us last year when our dear Bailey had to have a splenectomy for an enlarging tumor which was very suspicious for a malignancy and we had already moved away! Dr. Macauley followed up with us and comforted us as the we awaited the final pathology. Our heartache turned to joy when Bailey did well post-op and then pathology report showed no malignancy. She called us and rejoiced with us. Her clinic was always willing to work us in when needed. We so miss the wonderful care she provided to our dear pups and, if needed, will travel back to Lexington in the future. I am a physician myself and very particular about the care our pets receive.
