My whole family calls on Mark to tune their pianos. No complaints, whatsoever. He'll drive anywhere in the city as well as the surrounding area (e.g., Okotoks, High River, Strathmore). A few years ago, Mark added piano repairs and refurbishing to his services. He came over quickly when I busted one of my strings when practicing a tricky part a little too viciously. Seriously though, he can handle a complete piano refurbishing, not just broken strings. If you need a height-adjustable piano footstool, Mark's your man. Well-crafted and much more affordable than what you'd get at some music retailers. If you're looking to buy a used piano, you can call Mark to inspect it (you know, like getting a mechanic to look over a used car). When she still owned her store, I had the chance to try a new Kawai Digital Grand. I liked the instrument, but wasn't in a position to buy one, at the time. Since then, we have lost our piano (due to the flooding of June 2013), and I'm now seriously looking at getting a new instrument. Since I had looked at the old store, I thought that I should check out Micheal's stock. I went into his store, and was appalled at how poorly I was treated by the sales woman. I came in, being friendly, and started to explain what I was looking for, and she was a total snob, stating that they don't sell digitals. When I went ahead to explain the reason (link to Irene Besse), that I thought that they might, she, in no uncertain terms, told me that Micheal had nothing to do with the old store now, and had been in business for years before she closed. I don't mind being educated, as to the status of the store, or the type of product that they do/don't sell, but this information can be delivered in a respectful manner. As a former piano purist, and someone who has been in the music industry for over 25 years, it's a shame that they had such a poor attitude to my enquiries. As it is, I went to a competitor, and have since ordered an acoustic, and spent over $15,000. Terrible store. I bought a brand new kawai rx 10 grand piano from them. I paid cash. Huge mistake…read more They don't prep the piano at all and when I had their guy come out to regulate it it was just as bad. I have had to pay my technician to work on it and it's still a Work in progress. All I want is for the keys to repeat it's worse than my upright!
