Stressful, unreliable, untruthful
Lie #1 Holly advised me to schedule an initial deep clean. We definitely didn't need it. I sent her a detailed video of our home, per her request. Anyway, I thought I had to if I wanted to secure her services. She said she would send TWO cleaners and it would be $894.24 with tax plus tip. ONE cleaner showed up. I told Holly later that the second cleaner never showed up (per video doorbell & neighbor). The one cleaner was done with the initial deep clean in 4 hrs & 15 minutes. The baseboards weren't cleaned, the kitchen cabinets were streaked and various items weren't dusted. It was taken care of the following month.
Lie #2 (Q&A from Holly's website)
QUESTION: Will different cleaners come every visit?ANSWER: No! We schedule visits with the same team member on the same day of the week, at the same time.
REALITY: Holly assigned us Mondays starting 4/4/22. Then she changed it to Tuesday, then back to Mondays, then Fridays, then Tuesday, then 1 Wednesday and back to Tuesdays on 12/27/22. Then Fridays again on 2/17/23. Then Holly wanted to change the day yet again. The reason she gave was that it was a long day & hard work for the cleaner. Our home took her 3-1/2 hours most times. I also, with no complaint, accommodated 1 cancellation & 2 re-schedules. We also had a different cleaner on 1 visit and offered a different cleaner on another.
Lie #3 On November 8, 2023 she gave me the dates for our cleanings through Feb. 16, 2024. Reality-we never received a cleaning after 11/28/23. On November 27, 2023 Holly's email said...my cleaner was moving, going back to school, won't be in our area...add us back to her waitlist... I opted to be put on her "waitlist", that was over 8 months ago!! Per Holly's website, our cleaner actually got promoted within Holly's. When I reached out to her on March 8, she was "away in Mexico with horrible WiFi...We are still working on training new staff. Will be in touch!!" That was 4 months ago!!
We are not difficult clients. We allowed day changes with no complaints. Holly referred to me numerous times with positive adjectives when I did what she asked of us. We would declutter so cleaner could concentrate on cleaning. We told her she didn't have to clean the guest bath tub, if it wasn't used. We didn't complain when our front door was left unlocked, an antique cut crystal dish was broken, a Tiffany candlestick (didn't beak) was dropped and put a dent in the floor, numerous smudges on walls where cleaner made a pin size mark an inch long smudge. I did bring to Holly's attention the following:the quarter round was scuffed by cleaner's vacuum in numerous spots, our 3 fixture closet light was left on for 16 days. We store our wine there & temp was in high 80's when we returned. Bathroom fan left on for the same 16 days & window shades left open twice when asked to close them, while we were away. Holly wants clients to communicate with her cleaners. Ok, I did communicate our cleaning needs and praise for jobs well done. I didn't contract with Holly to manage her employee, and personally administer criticism. Holly either never addressed the fan & light issue with the cleaner, or the cleaner just decided not to say my bad. It's like it never happened.
Overall, we really liked our cleaner. She did an excellent job in the tub, shower & got what we thought were permanent rings out of the toilets. She cleaned the kitchen globes beautifully once. Most of all, she was on time and we truly trusted her. That's big. We showed extra appreciation on her birthday & holidays.
Every time Holly wanted us to make changes, she would tell us about our cleaner's personal problems and it became stressful. Paying an $894. initiation fee and being ghosted was a final slap in the face. read more
