I was a first-time customer this afternoon and left with the most beautiful cut and color I've ever had, but the couple of hours I spent here were just as great. Mary is a phenomenal stylist - super nice, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, not at all pushy, and also gorgeous and awesome in general. She was a joy to work with. Kia at the front desk is also fantastic - in addition to being so thoughtful and polite, she refilled my meter for an extra two hours in case I wanted to walk around and get coffee or something after my appointment (she offered to do this and was hands down the nicest receptionist/apprentice I've ever experienced). The salon itself is cozy but chic, with really fun decor and a great atmosphere. I had been searching and searching for a new place to get my hair done and it was such a relief to find this one! Seriously, nothing even remotely negative to say. As a sidenote: I had a Baylayage color with Opalex treatment, a cut, and a blowout, and it was all done to perfection.

Situated right on Congress street in a bustling downtown location, this place is a pure gem. Giant windows in the front allow for a lot of natural light, which adds even more to the wonderful ambience they have going on here. No harsh lighting here! The decor is simple yet beautiful. The hair stylists work well together and are super friendly! You can really tell that the owner takes pride in her work, as do her employees. The bathroom even has a glamorous feel! I feel at home when I'm here, and I am so glad Jessica made the transition to this space! She is accepting new clients as well so if you're looking for a salon where you want to feel beautified yet comfortable, with affordable prices and in close proximity to so many fun other stores downtown, you should give this place a call! *It's right next door to Taco Escobarr too which is another plus...hello tequila and tacos! :)

I have dark hair and have always wanted lighter highlights (lowlights - I don't know - see, this is why I need Aimee). She has helped get my hair to the right color so that it accepts the lighter shades without looking like Bozo. In addition to Aimee, the salon itself is bright and cheerful. All of the employees there are welcoming and kind. They offer an amazing array of products too. Highly recommend Aimee and Tove.

Even from our first consultation, we exchanged contact information and before my first appointment had time for me to send pictures from Pinterest of what I wanted my dyed hair to look like. Not only that, but she then did her own looking online to find similar ideas and photos to send to me to really verify that she was certain about the specific look I was going for. You can feel that they really CARE about how your look turns out here, which is a nice feeling - instilled from the first moment I walked in and was immediately offered a drink while I waited on a comfortable couch for my appointment to start. (their shop is SO CUTE.) When it came to actually getting the hair dyed and trimmed, again the process was very communicative and all about MY input on what I wanted, which was great. Natalie also is a joy to talk to and kept me entertained with a string of friendly conversation the whole way through. Price-wise, I have had my hair dyed at a fair amount of places and this was definitely the cheapest, by at least $30-$40 dollars, yet I had not a single complaint with my hair and have been so incredibly happy with how the dyeing turned out. If you want a place that actually listens to your requests and values communication, has a cozy and home-y aesthetic, and is not going to be the biggest burden on your wallet, check out Natalie at Gloss. I certainly had no regrets.
