During this time, HFM has managed most of my FMLA and disability paperwork. My condition worsened and it got harder to walk. I ended up injuring myself and went to my most recent appointment on crutches. For reasons I will never understand, HFM decided to drop the case at this point and stopped returning my phone calls. Without notifying me, they faxed the paperwork my employer completely blank, with a note saying that they couldn't find a medical reason for my disability, and that my employer would have to make do with whatever they had on file already. I found out about this 3 days after the deadline has passed. Fortunately, my caseworker is being patient with me, and she automatically extended the deadline for another seven days. But until I find a real doctor, I'll have no income, no treatment, and no information about my long-term outlook. It's getting harder and harder to do simple tasks, and I don't really know what comes next.

Erlanger refused to submit the paperwork for payment properly to the VA according the lady I spoke to at the VA. Then when I talked to Erlanger they told me it isn't their responsibility to bill insurance. So over a year later their doctors group and the hospital separately have me in collections.
