Well, it's closed now for the season but keep this in mind for next year. This family-owned and family-friendly farm is a quick drive from town. Besides families, it also seems popular with college students and couples. Parking is easy and admission is $2 which isn't bad for what you get: access to several pumpkin patches, the corn maze, sunflower picking, farm animal viewing/petting, tractor rides, and amusements for kiddies including a game where you see who can pump water the fastest to float a rubber duckie down a slide. Yes, I had too much fun playing this duck race. I saw hot dogs and lemonade for sale, but nothing pumpkin-related such as pie. I think an opportunity is being missed! Local honey is available for purchase too which is cool. The pumpkins aren't cheap, but then again, you're paying for an experience. I recommend bringing your own shears if you have them since the patch might be all out. The big pumpkins are already detached from the vines but if you want a smaller one, you'll have to snip it yourself. Also, it sounds like Farmer in the Dell will be offering pre-cut Christmas trees during the holidays and will be having peaches next year, so it's not just squashes. They made some serious improvements here since we last came…read more Tons of cute areas to take photos and a plethora of new activities. More areas where you can sit and lounge while the kids play and super organized parking. Lots of fresh air and space to spread out enjoy. More vendors who sold yummy treats like pops and kono ice. Our family had a ball and it will go down as one my favorite memories this year. It wasn't crowded when we went which made it more enjoyable. We didn't have to wait in line because they kept things moving at a good speed. Workers were just the sweetest humans on earth who helped my elderly father on and off the wagon. Loved that they had smaller pumpkins this year for toddlers and small children to pick up. There was also a tiny train ride. I really do hope they can lengthen the time frame past October into a week or two in November. If you go to only one patch in October let it be Helena Hallow though. Huge tip! Be sure to wear comfy shoes that can get dirty. It's a farm so there's lots of mud. It's hilly so wear comfy tennis shoes or boots. Definitely keep the heels and sandals at home. Also they seem to allow water bottles so bring one if you spend a whole day out here.

There were so many activities to engage in and many places to explore! Beautiful Fall photo ops everywhere and unique pumpkins available for purchase. The animals were precious, all named, and facts were posted about them! It was a beautiful day with such beautiful land to enjoy. It was tucked away from the city but still close enough to I-20 for easy access. I highly recommend visiting this farm for such an enjoyable family experience!

Pricing is a bit on the high side but honestly, the stock is beautiful, healthy and the variety is abundant. Add in the personal attention I received and it was money well spent because a multitude of choices were offered for the specific types of plants I needed. If I wasn't really liking something she suggested, we moved on. She was so helpful! On my next visit I will take some time to browse inside the store, they had some lovely gift ideas but time wasn't on my side at that point. Such a fun outing! (As for getting there, I-65 South was fine on the way there even though a significant stretch is under construction. The return was jammed so we came back on Hwy 31.
