After a series of foot injuries and decades bent over a computer I was in chronic pain and unable to do my primary form of exercise - walking, which only further degraded my weight and overall health. I knew from supervising my father's recovery from partial paralysis at the National Rehab institute that PT done right could be almost miraculous. My father learned to walk on crutches, drive and function unassisted. But my own experience with traditional PT practitioners her in SoCal was disappointing: a quick diagnosis and a rote set of the "usual exercises" sometimes helped with the immediate symptoms short term but never got to the root causes let alone curing them.
