Should be named the "Cheshire dog store"…read more I was heading toward Cheshire to run some errands. I was low on cat food of a specific brand (Fromm). There are several good animal feed stores in the area, so I searched for one that stocked a specific brand of dry cat food: Fromm. I found this store online, checked it out, and saw that their website showed that they stocked Fromm dry cat food. The online photo, which is a stock photo that can be found on Fromm's website, shows seven varieties. I stopped at the store when I got to Cheshire. Aside from a quick greeting when I entered the store, I didn't have any interaction with the staff during my visit. The section dedicated to dogs was large, varied and comprehensive. I had some trouble finding the cat section. I went in search of Fromm brand dry cat food and finally found a single large bag and three smaller bags on a table. They were not the variety or size that I was looking for. I decided to leave. Their dog supplies are fairly good, but the forty mile commute to Cheshire Cat and Dog is a little long. I am heading to the local Agway to stock up on Fromm dry food for cats.

My dogs have always come out looking great, and I've been happy with the work the groomers themselves have done. Unfortunately, the communication and customer service have become so frustrating that I've decided to look for another groomer. Trying to get in touch with the office or schedule an appointment is unnecessarily difficult. It often feels almost impossible to get a response, and when I do communicate what I need, it doesn't seem to be listened to. For example, I specifically explained that Fridays are the only day I'm available, yet I was offered a Tuesday appointment. It's incredibly frustrating to repeatedly explain your availability and feel like the information is simply being ignored. Another issue I constantly run into is that I'll call and leave a voicemail specifically requesting a phone call back, but instead, I receive a text message. Even though the voicemail specifically states if you wanna text ask for a text, and if you wanna call, ask for a call. I understand that scheduling can be difficult and that appointments may not always be available on the day a customer wants. However, there's a big difference between not having availability and not communicating effectively with the customer. I would have been completely understanding if I had simply been told that there were no Friday appointments available. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and the difficulty getting help with scheduling have reached a point where it's no longer worth the frustration for me. Good grooming is important, but good customer service and communication are also a huge part of running a business. Sadly, the scheduling and communication issues have ultimately caused them to lose me as a customer.
