This well-known gas station is a staple in the East Side Community, and most have patronized this establishment for years. Depending on who's working, they remember you and call you by name. Today their top-shelf coffees/lattes Karuba Gold was only $1.19 +tax. Great! The only problems with this Kwik Trip is it's not a direct in-and-out station (have to take the side road to enter/exit); and the pumps can get busy during the day hours (just try to be patient people). The gal was on the phone, the guy stuttered for a long seconds with "uhhhhhhhh.....it starts at $35". I asked him why does it costs less than an oil change, the stated price on the sign board, in their shop, for $30. He said: that's inside. I said: What's the difference between inside and outside? He replies: well...that's the advertised price inside, in the event that we run a special. Normally, an oil change costs $70. Really? They're in the business of slashing 60% off? Terrible liar. After sensing a complete bait-n-switch with a flavor ful of up-pricing, I just leave. How hard is it to move 2 tires from the back to the front, and vice versa? And, for $35? Ha! The prices are SO affordable (easily on par with, and sometimes beating, the club prices at Costco and Sam's), and are made even better with the Minnoco rewards discounts (5-10 cents depending on the day). The convenience store also has a good stock of snacks and drinks and such too. Quite possibly my favorite business in Minneapolis solely because the gas prices here cannot be beat!!
