Here is the response from the owner pertaining to a complaint I had to file with the BBB due to her excuses for everything wrong that they did! This is our 2ed pool, first was hit when a dead pine tree fell from the woods behind us. Never had "high winds ", erosion of any sort, acts of nature, when our 1st pool was installed by a professional pool company but she came up with every excuse she could including " we are hiding something', !? As a retired law enforcement officer, all I can say, is I've heard some good ones! The problems , there were 3. 1st one= the wall of the pool fell in. 2ed= the liner was not secured and installed correctly and fell in, 3rd= the pool wall was never put in the tracks. We had no other problems but she wanted us to do everything else that was not needed. Now she is harassing us because we shared a review with pictures. The filter was not a problem, I watch them put sand with their hand and pat it down. They put the filter right where you back wash the filter for weekly maintenance. By far a erosion problem! No Water Flow problems, no heavy rain run off there, Nothing! So because THIS was not our complaint , the POOL installation was and with all her excuses, I told her to come back around Labor Day as agreed and fix the pool by putting it in the track. I'm sorry but I don't have time for incompetent people so now she thinks I'm hiding something and didn't want to do preventative maintenance? This woman has really got issues! Funny but how many pictures does one have to take to see the same thing. Her pictures are no different from mine but that's ok, I have to consider the person that I am dealing with. We are not hard people to get along with but we have always dealt with professionals until we got messed up with this lady and her so called pool company. The pool I hope is really fixed as they did put dirt and sand back around it. All I can say about this... there is a reliable company for pools and spas and they are LEISURE POOLS AND SPAS In Kernersville. Wish we had waited a couple of months more instead of being in a hurry to get another pool from this company. Thank God , we are finished with this Holiday Pools! but if we have to, we will take them to court for harassment if they don't STOP! Here is her reply: regarding her above ground pool wall coming out of the track of the base on July 8th. I promptly sent the team to go assess it on 7/9. They took several photos and advised the customer that we can fix it and she asked that we wait until the fall so she could continue to use the pool this summer. They worked out a plan with ******** and returned to the office. After discussing it with my team and looking at the pictures, I noticed that the equipment pad (which was leveled when installed) had quite a bit of erosion underneath it. At installation May 3, 2024: attachment After visit on July 15: attachment My concern that was relayed to the customer in the attached emails was that we would come fix it. Preventatively, I asked her if she could monitor water flow issues on site so we could understand them so that we didnt fix an issue that would reoccur. I asked her if she wouldnt mind to take note of water flow when we got heavy rain over the next period so that we could prevent any further issues. You can see from the emails, she would not help to do anything preventative. I never stated we wouldnt fix the issue and our plan was to go back and fix the issue in the fall as she requested. I was asking calm, rational, preventative questions and she deflected and escalated very quickly. It appears that there is something else going on at the site that she doesnt want to take accountability for. We are happy to still resolve the customers issues but her behavior is for sure making me reluctant to send my team back on site. I am very confused why and how this got so escalated so quickly. I called Holiday Pools in a panic when my pump stopped. Christene found one exactly like mine in their warehouse in Greensboro and was prepared to go and get it the same day. As a secondary plan, she sent her guys to my house with a motor, impeller and other various parts to see if I even needed a full pump. As it turned out, I did not. Not only did she save me money, my pump was fixed the same day. I have been using Holiday Pools for about a year for chemical and supply purchases, hot tub parts, water testing, and general maintenance questions, but had no idea that they could be this responsive in a pinch. This company is not just your friendly neighborhood pool business. They can do it all. read more

Holiday installed a new vinyl liner. I am very pleased with Christine, Tom and the crew that actually installed it. There was an issue which was Foxx's responsibility and Christine handled it better and faster than I could have asked for. I would highly recommend Holiday Pools. read more

so they replaced our above ground pool about a year ago. part of the liner fell and drained all the water. the cover fell in and now dirty crap is in my pool. took them 3 days to do a 1 day job. they do not communicate with each other so you have to explain things several times. I just hope it lasts longer than 1 summer this time! wouldn't use them again. read more

I really wish I would have seen the 1.8 star rating before I booked my appointment. I called and requested a pool opening and a review of our equipment to make sure it was all running ok. When I booked the appointment I was very clea that the pool cover had not stayed on and it was basically swamp water but the representative assured me that he would send 2 men that would get it taken care of and review my equipment. They also stated I would get advance notice of their arrival so I could make sure I was available. Their advance notice was a 10 minute notice via text. They looked at the pool and said we spills just drain it and refill it. They claimed that would be our most "cost effective" way of doing it. It would literally cost over $1,000 just to have it refilled and they didn't even test our equipment. I received a bill for $80 for absolutely nothing. They did literally nothing but show up. I had to cancel the birthday pool party for our daughter because these people are unreliable to say the least. My family members are cance their business with them after this. Go anywhere but here like I spoil should have. These people are a joke!! I'll be letting the world know about these people!! read more

I have been calling Holiday Pools since Mid May to get them out to our pool. It needs a new liner and some work on the heater. They kept telling me they will be out next week. Then next week comes and goes, and no show. So I call them again, and again and again. Same response every time. Every time they never show up. So I have now given up on the pool for this year. Covered it up, and shut it down. Spent to much money trying to keep water in it, and lost a whole season of use because Holiday would not come out. THey used to be a great company. But then I think the old man retired and I believe his son took over. It hasn't been the same since. read more

Holiday Pools helped me when I bought a house with a pool, I knew nothing about the filters or chemicals and they really bailed me out. Now that they have me feeling more comfortable about the pool, I just take my pool water to their store and have it tested, go home and add whatever they tell me! So far, I have had a clear blue pool while my neighbors are still fighting algae. My neighbors are going there this weekend to solve their green problems...... read more

Let me support what Tony and Vicky said. Do not use this company!! They've basically moved from a store to a storage unit, which speaks volumes. Ordered a hot tub cover from them in May. We were told it would take 3 to 5 weeks. Checked in with them in the 5th week and found that the cover was never ordered! They made lots of excuses. Never returned calls- most of the time we got an answering machine and we were finally mailed our deposit back. AWFUL AWFUL!! I hesitate to give them 1 star! read more

Only open 10-2 M-F so hard to get to and from there if you work at all and you're fortunate if they answer the phone then. Took my Hayward pump here for repair. It was leaking water while pumping. Received it back, still leaking. Took in again. After over a week, it still wasn't fixed so I asked for it back to take somewhere else. The pump I got was mine, but the motor in it wasn't! I called and emailed, but was told they weren't sure where MY motor was, that it should have been the one in my pump. It clearly wasn't, I had pics of the pump previously that did not match the motor attached now. After much back and forth, emailing and trying to get him on the phone, received a check for refund of repairs and was told to keep motor I received in my pump. I don't know anything about this motor, I just know that mine was really good, so he or whomever received my motor probably made out better in this deal. read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with for any reason EVER! The owner isn't interested in customer service. He makes his money upfront and leaves you hanging. Find ANY other pool company! We purchased a $40,000 I ground pool that I had designed myself. Tim C, the owner, tried to talk me out of my design and into a rectangular pool. WTH? Anyway, it took 3 months to get the liner in and another 3 months before the pool was finished. He said it would take a total of 3 weeks from start to finish. It was Aug 1st before our pool was done and we started in Feb. For the next 6 years we had nothing but trouble. We couldn't keep algae out. I had to threaten to sue him. After many, many, MANY calls to Tom, he finally came out and said 'Oh, you have the wrong system on your pool. It's too small.' I have the wrong system on my pool????? Me?? No, HE installed the wrong system on my pool. He put on another system (not new because he said I had used the other one for 6 years so he didn't feel like he owed me a new one) and it died in season 7. Dear Moses, can't we get a break?! So I had to buy another system myself because he refused to even answer his phone anymore. He told me not to call his company for any reason ever again. So I haven't. And I would suggest that you need his earning as well. read more

My name is Michael - and my family - including my wife Karen and our three children always wanted to own our own pool. We moved to North Carolina in 2005, and saved every penny we could scrounge - sacrificing vacations and meals out and expensive weekends most families took to be able to afford a new pool. We contacted Tom C. at Holiday - and met with him to discuss the plans. We were assured that everything would go smoothly - and were caught off guard by Tom, who is an older man with a very calm demeanor. Not having checked any references (our mistake) we gave Tom the order for a $30,000 pool - complete with concrete decking in our backyard. We couldn't have been happier, signing the check and getting things started. I am a 45 year old Mechanical Engineer. I am a member in good standing in my local church. I am a long time Boy Scouts of America member, and an Eagle Scout. I say these things to further emphasize what I am about to say.....working with Tom at Holiday has been without exception, the single worst business decision my family has made in its existence. As of today, nothing that was installed has not broken. The concrete is splitting and cracking around the pool. The liner was damaged by one of his teenage "crew members". The liner is also pulling out around the circumference of the pool having been improperly sized. The filter assembly has broken no fewer than 3 times in 3 different places. The control unit for our salt/chlorine generator has today caught fire, burning a 220 volt hole through the printed circuit board of the control unit. The ladder that was installed had its mounts poured incorrectly, so the ladder doesn't sit square on the wall of the pool...it floats 4" above the wall. When my kids go to use the ladder, it slams into the wall of the pool, damaging the liner every time. Tom's service post sale is non-existent. He is a one man show, and hires low skill/low paid people to fill in as he suckers other families into building his next big project. He doesn't build the pool himself - he hires separate electricians, concrete companies, and excavators, who are never monitored for quality during the build. You will become the contractor. You will have to watch everything that is done and ask mistakes to be fixed. When something goes wrong - and it will....over and over and over again, you will wait weeks to have it fixed, if it can be fixed. Do not, under any circumstances give this man - or anyone at Holiday - a dollar of your money. You'd be better off buying a Walmart pool and some bushes from Lowes Home Improvement. You'll be happier in the long run. read more

Only gets a one star for water analysis work only. I had been using Holiday pools for water treatment and chemicals for years. never had a problem. In the spring of 2012 the liner in my pool disintegrated it was installed in 1997. 1997 to 2012 shows good water analysis. Contracted Holiday Pools &Spa On 04/25/2012 to replace my liner. THE PROBLEMS STARTED WHEN I OPEDED THE POOL THE FOLLOWING SUMMER. The liner started to come out in one spot by the skimmer. Called in, spoke personally with Tom Chambers, the owner. He indicated they would be out after the spring water rush. NEVER SHOWED, I called every week. In fact each year when I opened the pool, another spot showed up. Called Tom Chambers, bi weekly, they quit answering my calls and would lock door when they saw me coming. They never answered the phone, left voice mails, sent emails, to NO AVAIL. I found out from another irate customer that they hide their vehicles so you don't know if they are there. There is four to five spots where the liner is coming out and this year, the liner started to loose its paint/dye. When I closed the pool I skimmed a good quantity of paint/dye and floor is becoming white. I called the liner manufacturer to report what is going on with the liner and the way Holiday Pools & Spa has treated me. We discussed the warranty and how to proceed when I open the pool May 1. They recommended a couple of their strong dealers to contact. We set up an appointment to get back together to discuss what procedures to do and who to have on hand when I open the pool. That's customer service. Look at Joan N's review. I have heard many stories like this over the years. But since I was there for water analysis and chemicals, I just let it slide (THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE). I would like to add on to what Zack said. Holiday Pools is the worst pool company. Do not use them!!! They did a complete pool renovation which has been nothing but problems for several years. They lied and did not stand behind their work. I just hired another pool company to fix the problems and discovered that Holiday Pools had put mortar (concete) between all the tiles and the pool deck instead of flexible material that allows for deck movement. Tom at Holiday Pools could not have been more evasive and did not communicate with us when his team made HUGE mistakes - his unprofessional crew did not show up on many occasions and when they did, they were awful to deal with. Everything started out fine. I went to Holiday Pools, heard what all they were going to do and putting up half of the cost of the liner/installation would be all I needed to get the ball rolling. (Half of the cost was actually 3/4th the cost of the liner, the other half was the fourth of the liner plus installation cost. This will be important to know later) A few days later I received a call informing me that they were on their way over to get the measurements of the pool so that they could order the liner I picked out. I was told it would take 2 weeks for the liner to come back. I waited 3 weeks and heard nothing back from Holiday Pools. I called them to see what was the hold up on the repair and I was told that they were having a problem with their current customers pool flooring that they didn't account for cause they didn't see the problem till after they removed the old liner. They then assured me that I would be next in line. A week later, I call back wondering why nobody has started any work on my pool. I was then told that they we're having a hard time draining a customers pool cause he had a bunch of leaves at the bottom of the pool. WHAT?!?! They told me a week before that I was next, and that they had already removed a customers liner and that the flooring need work. Now they're telling me they are having a hard time draining a pool. This was proof that they lied to me about being next. I was livid to say the least. I quickly let the person know that I was talking to on the phone, how displeased I was with the customer service of Holiday Pools. My exact words to this person was "this is the WORST customer service I EVER had in my 44 years of living." The person I was speaking to made no apologies for their lack of communication. Mind you, this whole time i was the only one picking up a phone calling. The only call I had received from this place was weeks ago when someone was on their way out to measure the pool. I then told the person I was speaking to that I think it would be best if we cancel our agreement and I would come back up to the store to get the money I had already put down. The person smugly replied "oh no, you can come get the liner but not the money." I would be fine with this, but may I remind you that doing so would mean that I still owed them a fourth of the cost of the liner. Wanting some sort of satisfaction, I asked to speak to Tom, the owner. Imagine my surprise when the person on the other end of the phone said "this is Tom." I replied, "you got to be kidding me?!? Is this the same person I had been talking to all these weeks?" And he replied "yes". I proceeded to tell Tom some more of how I felt about his poor customer service skills. Because of the money situation, I was between a rock and a hard place. Needless to say, it took another week to get the liner installed by this place. I see I'm not the only one to have something negative to say about this business, and if you don't take heed to our warning to stay away, we won't be the last. DON'T USE THIS PLACE. GET YOUR POOL LINER ELSEWHERE. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED. read more
