Megan's therapy techniques put me in a complete state of relaxation. I fell in and out of sleep probably 8 to 10 times during the massage. Her massage studio is also a therapeutic environment with the scents, lighting, music, and ambiance. She also used a series of oils to help relieve the tension I had in my neck. I walked out of there feeling like a new person. Since I come to the outer banks every year for vacation, I will be sure to contact her again for another appointment whenever I come back to visit. It was the highlight of my week.

My first massage was at a much more expensive spa, yet this experience was far more relaxing, memorable, and enjoyable. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and at ease. The staff was warm, professional, and attentive, and the facility was spotless and calming. We chose the 60-minute couples massage, and for an hour we were able to completely disconnect from the world and simply relax together. If you're visiting the Outer Banks and looking for a way to unwind, treat yourself--you won't regret it. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and we left feeling refreshed, recharged, and already talking about coming back. We would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone considering a massage while in the OBX!

The place is clean, warm, and comfortable with nice music. The products were okay. But actually, BECAUSE I'm a therapist I know one doesn't need deep pressure to have a great relaxing massage and pain reduction. We both requested light to medium pressure, and I requested extra focus on my low back. Michelle did an excellent job finding all the trouble spots and gently kneading them away. The office is clean and well kept. The therapy room was quiet and relaxing. They have a very professionally and calming office. There is no booking online, so expect to call in to schedule. Highly recommend

She was extremely easy to work with, very responsive, and even sent a reminder text the day before our massages. When we arrived at A Sanctuary Massage, we were immediately greeted and did not have to wait around or fill out unnecessary paperwork. They did, however, ask us if there were any target areas we wanted them to focus on. The massage tables were both heated, which felt INCREDIBLE. The entire massage was relaxing and felt amazing. It really felt like stress left our bodies and was a nice, relaxing start to the weekend. Carol also offered us bottled water and yummy chocolate after our massages were over. Also, as they are locals, they were able to give us some great recommendations on places to check out while we were in town. Super helpful! If we are ever back in town visiting, we will definitely book her again! We cannot recommend her enough. Thank you again, Carol!

I contacted Sarah about doing an at home massage for anyone in the party (over 20 people) that might be interested in getting a massage. I was worried since I didn't have finite numbers, but Sarah was so easy going and quick to respond. She gave me pricing and said as long as I had two 60 minute massages that she would come out to the house. I booked 4 hour blocks with her for 2 days based on her suggestion and we filled out the schedule based on that! Sarah arrived promptly and suggested a private space for the massages and off we went. We were able to pay cash, check or credit (huge with some of the 20 somethings that don't carry as much cash)! She let people pay for massages as gifts for others, and thankfully, took the payments out of my hands by allowing people to pay individually and not demanding a deposit! Every person who received a massage LOVED it. We all felt so amazing. She catered each massage to what everyone needed, for some it was their first massage - others wanted deep tissue work - and Sarah was happy to comply! I can't recommend OBX Massage enough. Sarah was professional, kind and intuitive about all of our needs. She also handled her business so smoothly, and was flexible with us. If someone is on the fence or isn't sure they want a full hour, still book the time. Sarah fills up fast, and may not be able to extend your hours if you change your mind at the last minute - and you definitely will change your mind and want a massage once you see how relaxed everyone is afterwards!
