Okay I'm going to be brutally honest here. It wasn't the best holiday inn I've ever been to yet it wasn't the worst either. Conveniently located near the metro station which you can take directly to Vatican City. The bar 24/7 and bar tender are a little rude in the beginning but after a few drinks and conversations they loosen up. The breakfast was my favorite meal of the day, if your looking for lunch and dinner I'd say explore the surrounding markets and restaurants. There is a local fish market down the street once you exit the front door walk down the street to the Main Street then turn left. It has amazing fresh seafood dishes. Better to brush up on your Italian because they won't speak English. Clean, decent hotel however I wouldn't wander so much at night unless with friends present. A lot of interesting characters around.

If you are staying here expect to pay more than 48 euros for taxi. Our taxi rate from the airport was 70 euros. The surrounding neighborhood look dangerous but the locals there just minds their own business. It's close to everything including Metro and a 24 hour market. The front desk people are not so welcoming so don't expect a smile and a friendly welcoming. I was surprised by the size of the room. I always check the bathroom first. It was clean with lots of towels. The whole room was clean. The Handy mobile device was great. It was free to use. The Google map was great and you can make international calls for free. The free breakfast was awesome. It starts at 6:30 am. They have outside seating but it was cold already. Our overall stay was good.

Relatively spacious (for Europe), simple, and clean. They have a scale on the first floor, so you can weigh your luggage before you leave for the airport, which is SO helpful! I'm surprised it isn't more common at hotels. Otherwise, if your luggage is overweight you need to scramble and repack your bags at the bag checking station. Breakfast is decent. Fruit, beans, pancakes, and sliced ham. The sausage looks like sliced hot dogs (didn't try em). The eggs seem reconstituted from powder, which is unfortunately quite common. Coffee from machines is pretty good; the cappuccinos are nice.

So happy I decided to stay at this location. Breakfast included, decent sized room. Ask for an electric hot water kettle and tea/coffee if you want for your room. The BEST feature: the "handy" phone that allows you to make FREE international calls, access the Internet and GPS 24/7, etc. This was a lifesaver. The customer service was horrid. But the other amenities + the fact that I hardly ever needed their assistance made all the difference. Tip: Bring a washcloth & 2 prong Euro converter plugs with you when you visit. There are comp towels, hand towels etc, but no face/wash cloth.

Even it's a 3stars hotel, but the quality of service exceeds the standard. Staff are friendly, caring and helpful. The hotel send email to customers to make sure everything is going ok and if we need anything, the provide/help right away. Room is clean and comfortable. They provide the best breakfast, full of good and fresh stuff (see in pics). The location may seems a little sketchy, but I always feel safe. Nobody bothers or talks to us while walking. It's located within 5mins walk from bus stop and metro station, and even the train station that leads to airport. The best thing about this hotel is that they provide customers with a Handy phone to use with free data to help navigate where we go and make international phone calls. Very good value for the price we paid overall!! P/s: on the same street of the hotel, within 10mins walk, there are two hidden gem local restaurants that tourists must try, L'lsola and Frontoni pizza restaurant (the front may look sketchy, but keep follow the sign, it will lead to a very nice rooftop venue)

Each room comes with a free handy phone which allows you to make free unlimited local and international calls and unlimited mobile Internet

This place was quite reasonable in price terms of pricing includes a free phone for your stay which was handy for the GPS and allowed me not to use my phone when traveling. Using your own data can be quite expensive that made this hotel a big win.

Daniella who own the B&B are absolutely fantastic. From the moment we contacted them online to book…read moreour room, to the day we (unfortunately) had to leave Roma, they were amazing hosts friendly, warm and very welcoming. Daniella speaks very good english and goes out of her way to make sure you have a great stay. The advice she gave about sightseeing and booking tickets was invaluable and helped hugely in avoiding large queues on the day we went to visit The Colosseum! We broke our trip with an initial 4-days in Rome and then we traveled down to the Amalfi Coast where we stayed for a large part of our 16-day trip. We hadn't booked our accomodation for our return trip to Roma, but after having such a great start to the holiday at B&B Bologna we asked Daniella if upon returning to Roma if we could book another room for the night. It was holiday season when we stayed (Aug/Sept) so Daniella was supposed to be taking her own break when we wanted stay, but instead they said they'd be happy to accommodate us. We were so grateful it saved us a lot of time and avoided any stress looking for an alternative place to stay which quite possibly didn't match the homeliness of B&B Bologna. We were in Italy for a total of 16-days and we can truly say Daniella absolutely made the trip for us. She (and husband Aldo) shared invaluable tips for sightseeing in Roma and it was great of them to share anecdotes and stories of her courting days in Capri! Our rooms on both occasions were just like staying in a large apartment. They were very clean, spacious with access to their own bathrooms and kitchens for breakfast and snacks at other times in the day. Both rooms had very comfortable beds and were quiet with relaxing decor. My partner and I want to say a HUGE thank you Daniella (and Aldo) for making our first stay in Roma together so wonderful. We would highly recommend anyone to stay at B&B Bologna. It's very accessible to all the main attractions, but is so wonderfully positioned that it also gives a real flavor of local Roma city life. Highly recommended!

Our favorite place to stay in all of Italy…read more Fulvia is fabulous. She could not be more attentive or thoughtful. She makes sure you have everything you need and then some. She will gladly do whatever she can to make your stay as wonderful as possible. She is so down to earth, totally overflowing with sunshine, and will make anyone incredibly comfortable; she truly made Rome that much more of a lovely, fascinating and amazing place for us. To wit: she gave us detailed instructions on how to get there and anywhere we wanted, responded quickly to any questions, printed things for us, checked back throughout breakfast to be sure we had enough of everything, gave us short cuts and insider info (she used to be a tour guide after all), personally made sure to get us settled in and tell us goodbye, she even went so far as to pick flowers and put them in our room for us. Fulvia's rooms are fabulous; modern and efficient use of space with great colors and textures to keep things airy and light. She gave us the choice to move into a bigger room if we wanted (at the same price) but we stayed right where we were because we loved it that much. The rooms are CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN with lots of fresh towels and linens. The bed is by far the most comfortable one we slept on compared to everywhere else we stayed. The room is laid out nicely with your own little table and chairs right in front of a generously sized window looking out into Rome. Lots of light when you want it and darkness when you want that too (shutter included). The location is fabulous; very easy to get to from the train station. There's a small grocery store in the train station, a laundromat a street or two over from Casa Romana, a Tabacchi shop literally across the street, restaurants within the same block and it is walking distance to pretty much all of Rome ..... we even walked back from Vatican City - it did take awhile, but we did not die trying to do it. You may occasionally hear sirens, but they never kept us from sleeping or interrupted our good times. (You also may occasionally hear your neighbor's door shut, but again, our sleep nor good times were ever interrupted.) Casa Romana is set up fabulously - 3 rooms and that's it - 3 rooms on the second floor that make up the corner of a building. They are all centered around a small hallway that contains a breakfast nook (complete with kitchenware for everyone to use) where Fulvia places breakfast around 8am each morning. However, you can get up when you want and have your breakfast - no timeframes and no weirdness at a table with uptight strangers. Just roll out of bed, walk 5 steps, grab your food, walk 7 steps back and sit down at your own pretty private table and enjoy! It is exponentially obvious how much Fulvia takes immense pride in Casa Romana - do not miss out on the chance to experience it.

The rooms are luxurious, clean and equiped with all necessary facilities to ensure a perfect and relaxed stay in a great city! Fulvia is very dedicated to make sure you enjoy your stay in Rome and gives a lot of information about the city and its highlights. She knows all the good restaurants where you can eat the original Italian cuisine and drink the best Italian coffee. I would recommend Casa Romana to every one who wants to visit Rome, Fulvia will make sure your stay in Rome will be one to remember! I know I'll be back in Rome again because I haven't seen all the amazing buildings and sites by far...and I know for sure that I will book my stay at Fulvia's!
