If you ever find yourself unfortunate enough to spend the night here you're in for many surprises…read morealong the way. Frankly, I don't know where to begin. Our stay here added additional "lore" to our already planes trains and automobiles like experience with the infamous ORD airport. In our delirious desperation we chose to retreat to this hotel, which from the outside, is unassuming but unfortunately there is more than meets the eye. While returning from our vacation, and ill equipped, as many travelers are, I stood with vigilance outside in my shorts and sandals in 20 degree weather. However, my waiting proved fruitless as I was informed that the shuttle comes by only once an hour while all others have come roughly 5 times. Naturally we waited another 25 minutes for the shuttle which of course was crammed with all of those with our same misfortune. Check in was a breeze aside from the fact that because of the shuttle schedule the one person up front is unable to check in all 20 of us at the same time thus leading to a long line. After check in we saw our rooms. Because of how many people were in my party we got two rooms. Upon entering the first room, we field stripped the beds to search for bed bugs which came back negative for bugs. The tile however was a different story. Reports of water being underneath the floor and thus squirted from the gaps between the tile came from some members of my group. In my rooms bathroom the towels had strands of hair and black specks littered across the surface. But unbeknownst to me a crime scene awaited me through the door. Upon examination my shower appeared to be the scene of an execution with blood or a similar substance smeared on the walls and floor. I wish I was kidding. After being awake for 45 hours dealing with the nightmare at O'Hare I was ready to sleep so I pulled the sheets back to reveal hair of all varieties littering my sheets which was accompanied by many stains. Stains... Oh! Now that I mention it that reminds me that the blue couch in my room had inconspicuous white stains all over it making certain spots literally look like the couch had polka dots on it. After attempting to decontaminate my bed as much as possible with the tools available, I slept in the cesspool bed. When I woke up I ate "breakfast", which is a strong word for what was provided. Breakfast consisted of what was later determined to be eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and pancakes. The eggs had the texture of playground rubber and the other things were DOA so to speak as they were undercooked and cold. And this brings our journey to a close... oh wait I lied. After returning to my room from breakfast the fire alarm went off repeatedly. I later learned this was a test which would have been good to know beforehand. After the alarm went off I quickly packed my things to leave not because of panic from the possibility of fire but because I was literally itching to get out of there.

Nearly everything cause improve. After traveling for almost two days straight our last flight…read moreleaving O'Hare Airport was cancelled, they gave us vouchers to this "hotel" which we obviously took because we wanted a place to sleep that wasn't an airport or ditch, but after waiting for the shuttle to the hotel for an hour in the cold rain I thought I might need to resort to my other options. Once the shuttle guy finally came we made it there and got two rooms. Now I'm not saying I'm mad at this experience I'm just disappointed, I went into my room and thought I was in a morgue from how cold it was once I got it above 65 degrees I was quite pleased, besides the carpet that was a nanometer of fabric draped over a slab a concrete. The bathroom that had peel and stick tiles that clearly failed to stick, with a shower that sprayed like the cone and jet setting on a hose combined, but hey at least the bathroom had the decor that looked like someone cut their hand off and started throwing blood around and also is it normal for the sheets to have enough hair to start a wig company? Anyway, I woke up and went to breakfast which was fine I guess, besides the fact they only made enough for only the first people that came leaving the ones who value their sleep with literally nothing besides uncooked squares of potatoes with grams of salt on them, and orange juice that only a man with no senses would enjoy. But, hey, at least they don't have water. Some other things that happened included the fire alarm going off several times, everywhere being at a whopping 60°, and the elevator that decided to stop working well we were in it making us resort to their stairs, and I don't know if this was my problem but the WiFi didn't work. Overall I'd rate it about 1/5 stars because their beds are very comfortable.

The hotel entrance after the revolving doors is stunning. I went to my co-workers hotel room to drop off my gear and it was very clean. Spacious rooms and the bathroom mirror had an embedded TV. We headed to breakfast where the food was in the hallway and the dining was in the big event room where main speakers were going to be. The room where we had the presentation fit around 30 people in round tables. The AV guy came in to check if we were all tested and ready to go which was all set! In between sessions, the coffee area was packed with coffee, tea, water and soda. The only bad part, there was another conference and you had to pass through this area for the other conference and they were taking our coffee, drinks, etc. The venue finally out signs. We had a formal dinner but the staff seemed very rushed in everything. Before my co-worker was finished eating they were already asking him if he was finished and wanting dessert. I like customer service but no need to rush people. Overall, the place is great, the venue is beatiful and it was a positive experience.

I really liked the room, it was clean, spacious, and I loved the dove hand soap and lotion. But most of all, I loved the staff, in particular, Tammy, the manager/ front desk professional. We travelled with a small child so we needed late check out, bag storage, and transportation to the airport. I loved Tammy's HUMANITY and how she truly did her best to accomodate us. She is a genuine, lovely, kind person and I felt very well taken care of while staying at this hotel. Thank you again for going the extra mile to help a family in a stressful situation!

This hotel advertises a free shuttle from ORD 630AM-1AM. On 12/29/2024 AA put us up at this hotel due to their problem. Their van drove past us & would not stop. Called the front desk at 22:17, 22:26, 22:28, 22:30 & 23:00 & the phone was not answered. Paid $40 for a taxi to take us to the hotel. On 12/31 HIX manager said it is not their policy to pay for the taxi. She did not know anything about why the phone does not get answered or why the van does not stop. She told me to contact AA. Apparently it's AA's fault they don't answer the phone or stop for customers. If this is how they treat IHG Platinum Elite, just imagine how they will treat you? Do you really want to find out?

They have done an amazing job on the reno. Modern, upscale and the fit and finishes are top notch. The color scheme is calm and soothing and extremely welcoming. I was blown away walking the in the front door. Forewarning: the exterior of this place looks NOTHING like the interior! Night and day. I was nervous pulling up, not gonna lie. The rooms here are spacious, CLEAN, well stocked, CLEAN, have comfy beds, CLEAN....did I mention it was clean? The breakfast buffet is nothing short of a religious experience. Parking is plentiful and this area has lots of amenities that are easy to access. Onto the stuff that held my other 2 stars hostage: 1) the internet is slow. I mean really slow. Like walking with grandma using her walker slow. 2) the elevators here are a disaster. Slower than the internet. It takes FOREVER! If I am willing to walk 14 flights of stairs to get to my room, you know something ain't right! And I did walk them....several times. 3) the refreshment hour is a chaotic mess. One bartender, a line a mile long (at least a 20 min wait) and they do not refill the snacks. It's like cattle to a feeding trough...get there fast or you'll starve. 4) Tawnee at the front desk was rude, curt, combative and inattentive. Every other staff member I spoke to was a complete joy. Tawnee needs some customer service training and a nice massage! I would stay here again for sure. Coming in knowing what I do, I'd plan better. Y'all need to step up your game so I can make this a 5 Star!

They should update the TVs though so they are a bit more modern. Embassy Suites has a very nice lobby area with a pretty fountain and the entire area is decorated in Sante Fe Southwest style theming. Cute little gift shop in the front packed full of Chicago items. Best part about Embassy Suites is the complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning & cocktail hour in the evening. I didn't attend the cocktail hour, but did go to the breakfast twice and everything I had was good. It has donuts, croissants, danishes, bagels, cereals, many juice choices, many milk options including chocolate, eggs, potatoes, french toast, bacon, sausage, pancakes and custom made omelets...MMmmm. Yum! I live very close to the hotel and will continue to steer out of town guests here as I've now been impressed with their offerings.
