This is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever for instance they Don't answer the phone or you will go on eternal hold. They screwed up my Reservation twice. Got (Disconnected twice) hung up on. Not to mention when I finally was able to speck to someone after being left on hold for 42 minutes he couldn't speak english and did not understand what we were trying to do it has taken three business days to make a reservation becuse the screwed it up twice. I came here for a work conference with my colleague and couldn't have been more pleased with the service and accommodations. We arrived a little after 10 and tried to check in but were told they wouldn't have rooms ready until noon. We waited for a while and then saw people coming in after us and getting room keys. Right before we had to leave for the conference we inquired on whether our rooms were ready. Another attendant assisted us and we were able to drop off our things in the nick of time. When I came back from the conference, I noticed the room was better than what was originally booked! It was spacious, clean, and made me feel right at home. The only small gripe I had was that there's no exhaust fan for the bathroom but when I took a shower, to my surprise there was no fog! Overall, I was pleased with my stay and next time I'm in Schaumburg, I know where I'm staying! read more

This hotel was a one night stay for us on our Fall 2024 road trip. My wife picked this hotel and said that we are staying in Chicago. This is a nice property located in Schaumburg, about 30 miles away from Chicago. The area was nice with a lake behind the property. If you drive a little, there are lots of shops and restaurants in the area. Our room was exactly what we wanted with a king bed. The room had a nice sofa and lots of workspace. The bathroom was adequate and had the usual Marriott special soap, shampoo and conditioner. This property has a nice M Lounge for Platinum Elite and above Bonvoy members on the ground floor open 24 hours a day for you to get canned soda and water. Breakfast is served in the morning. Hors doerves and desserts are served in the Evening. The woman who served me in the M Club was super nice. Their gym in adequate with treadmills, ellipticals and weights. Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes are available for you to clean up the machine. The gym was able to give me a good workout. A pool and hot tub are available. It was a nice hotel. I liked it. I would've liked it more if it was in Chicago. read more

As an ambassador staying at this hotel, we expected to be upgraded, but was just provided a standard hotel. We were not even greeted, with the thanks for being a Bonvoy member. Looking past this, I was interested in how this Marriott hotel compared to other hotels in the area. This hotel is located just off the highway and is centrally located to many businesses in the area. The hotel features an M club which has snacks, coffee, refreshments and breakfast. The sodas and water were a nice perk to have throughout our stay. As for the breakfast, it was horrible. The food was of poor quality, I ended up wasting the food as it was not edible. I did like the gummy bears in the club. The room looked like it was redone to some level- you could see that the bathroom, in particular the shower could need a bit more love in bringing to Marriott quality. The bed was typical for Marriott. And the room was suitable, nothing special. Not very large with all the furniture in the room plus suitcases. My biggest gripe about the room was the noise from the highway- the windows need to be double paned or something to block the highway noise. If you area light sleeper you may want to get a room on the opposite side of the highway. The hotel does have amenities that we did not use during the stay- the hotel has a poo, gym and parking lot. As we did not use these amenties, I can not comment on them. In conclusion, I would only stay at this hotel if I had work in the area- note there are a lot of other choices in this immediate area to choose from between Hilton and Marriott products. read more

I stayed here recently for a weekend trip and had a wonderful time. The check-in process was seamless, no issues parking, and the hotel is beautiful! It's airy and open when you walk in, but lots of pockets to focus on work or read. My room was so lovely and perfect for me. I had everything I needed and I slept so well. No issues with noise despite my room facing the expressway. Nice black out curtains as well. The staff was extremely attentive for all meals I had at the bar or in the dining room for breakfast lunch or dinner. My only request is that the breakfast menu available in room also be available in the dining room. While the food was good, there are some improvements that could be made to elevate the dishes - like a sauce to accompany chicken and salsa that's not from a jar. The fitness center and pool were wonderful as well - I used both multiple times. And check out was seamless too! Can't wait to come here again. read more

I've had the uncomfortable experience of staying at Chicago Marriott Schaumburg April 04-06 2025. During my stay, I noticed an infestation of bugs in my room that were later acknowledged as "lady bugs and beetles"! I Furiously contacted the front desk to make them aware of this matter. Yes, my room was changed of course, but to find more bugs in the new room! My stay was very frustrating, to say the least. My only accommodation from the front desk was to be granted access to the M Club, which I respectfully declined. Multiple emails have been sent to the corporate office In which a mere 5k points were added to a rewards account newly created.(which covered nothing at all). I took that as a slap in the face due to the disgusting experience that I experienced during my stay. We have a Large Group of more than 300 individuals that will be attending our annual event this year at this location April 02-05 2026 and nothing has yet to be resolved of this matter! Having once lived in the area, I've often stayed here when back visiting. In fact, when I moved a long, long time ago to Atlanta, my family lived here for two weeks as we waited for our house in Atlanta to be completed. Not a lot has changed, lots of updates to the public areas and the rooms have a nice, fresh look. Staff was excellent as usual from the person checking us in to the bartender. Most important is a clean room and comfortable bed. Both accomplished here. As a Lifetime Titanium guest, we generally are assigned a "club level" room which we were on this visit. The main difference is a huge, spacious lounge (now called the "M Club" instead of concierge lounge) is on the main floor instead of on an upper floor as it once was. Afternoon appetizers and breakfast are served here. If I'm not mistaken, this property is over 40 years old but you wouldn't know it due to updating and good maintenance. My ONLY complaint is the bath towels. Small and threadbare, they look like they came from a budget hotel down the street. Time to toss these and order some new towels! Otherwise a pleasant stay. read more

I arrived at 1:30 PM, and I checked in with the front desk to confirm that they had my reservation and that the check-in feature in the Bonvoy app would alert me when my room was ready. They confirmed that it would. I sat in the lobby for 2 1/2 hours and was never notified that my room was ready, so I went to the front desk again. They told me that mobile check in was only a request that the front desk had to approve. She said they had not checked the mobile check ins yet, and this was after 4:00 PM. She was rather rude and didn't apologize. I asked why anyone would use mobile check in and she said again that it was only a request and not a real check in. It didn't say that in the app, and neither did her co-worker, who assured me that the app would work. This is a privately owned location that doesn't live up to the Marriott standard at their corporate owned locations. Avoid Arbor Lodging Partners/Management locations. read more

Arrived at the Chicago Marriott as myself and family have been before. Again greeted by the front desk supervisor, Diana and staff. Very pleasant and friendly. They really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Check in was pleasant and hotel looked and smelled great! I don't know what they use for a scent but it was great! Room was very clean as were the hallways and entryways. Went to the bar to get some starbucks for myself and wife, and again very nice staff. The room had a breakfast included which was new to the hotel and again just awesome. Some pool time, jacuzzi and we left. I can't say enough about Diana and hotel staff. Just a great place to stay. It's staff like Diana that make you want to come back. Every hotel should have employees like this. A perfect getaway. read more

I stayed here for my work trip. Perfect location and great amenities. The rooms are cozy and ambient. However, it was a snowy couple of day when I stayed here. The roads were absolutely skiddy for me to walk. The walk ways seemed alright. It is important to note that it is a huge parking lot and needs to be salted all the way to make sure I don't trip and fall. I fell on my back twice on my 1 trip from the car to the walkway. I hope you guys take this feedback to make sure you salt the area well. read more

Marriott reward program used to be worth it but no longer is nor has it been since it became Bonvoy. I am a gold member and a card holder and they advertise you get a free night a year but since bonvoy took over there really is never a truly free night as I always have to pay some points as well and I am not staying at the high end hotels. prior to Bonvoy I really got a free night. Once I use my points up i will cancel my card and go with Hyatt or Hilton, you seem to get much more for their points. Not worth the annual free any more. Very disappointing and I also find many of their hotels are very run down, especially in college towns. They should have a certain standard to put their brand on it. for instance both Marriott properties in Lawrence Kansas are very run down! no good marriotts there. Room was fine, but service and M Lounge TERRIBLE! Literally flies buzzing around the trash and coffee areas. No coffee, no service, nothing. Front desk staff was unconcerned and the manager couldn't be bothered to come talk with another guest and me. As a Titanium member, I'm appalled. And, they sent me to the bar where there was supposed to be coffee, after I had to ask for a voucher to pay for it (seriously?!) and it was closed. I just left. Awful! read more

While on business in the area this has been my go to hotel for years. Its in a convenient location with many restaurants and shopping options. Also some entertainment options as well. The staff is helpful and welcoming. The standard and cleanliness in the rooms are usually pretty good with the exception of one incident during their renovation in which I filed a formal complaint. There were able to rectify the situation so I was hopeful for their accommodations post renovation. I'm happy to say that once I returned post renovation not only was it nicely done, I had no issues with my room. read more

Huh, I was staying here recently. First of all, upon check-in, the front desk staff was not so knowledgeable so I have to waited the second day to call again when the DOM back to work. Note: the manager starts working at 3PM. Again, first time heard the DOM works start at 3PM. Also - the front desk told me the club lounge offers happy hour snack from 5:30 -7:30 pm. Again, they forgot to tell me the happy hour snack only serves from Mon to Thur. I came to the club lounge with empty stomach and found no food is coming. Then I came to the front desk and asked when the food will be served. Then I was told no food from Fri to Sunday. They should tell me upfront, isn't that common sense? If anyone knows me, my absolute biggest fear is spiders. Prior to booking this hotel, someone posted a massive spider in their bed, wtf! Unfortunately, I had no other choice but to stay here as I'm in town for work. Anyway, I just checked in today & they gave me a room basically in the basement. It's located on the 1st floor, one level below the lobby. The second I opened the door, it was dark, I was terrified. I used my iPhone flashlight and boom, massive spider web hanging from the celling. I kept walking in, another huge web, legit webs everywhere and the best part, a spider hanging from the celling on top of the bed. This is my worst nightmare! I immediately ran out, told the front desk and they moved me to the 6th floor. At this point, I'm scared to even go into the room. As soon as I walk in... spider webs again! But this room smells like piss. I give up... I have been searching for other hotels in the area and they all have bad reviews, fml! I spoke to them again.. they probably think my name is Karen. They have now moved me to the 10th floor, this room is much better but it's so dirty. I don't see any webs which is great news but there's long black hairs all over the towels and bathroom, someone dropped weed all over the carpet, there is dust all over the walls. Clearly, they do not know how to clean and need to do pest control. This is honestly unacceptable. Well this is my first night and I'm here for an entire week. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep but please pray for me & Marriott, please do a deep cleaning and fumigate. Thank you. read more

Stayed for a week here for work purposes and everything was perfect. The room I stayed in had everything I needed and then some. The room I stayed in had 2 queen sized beds which didnt make any sense to me since I was going solo. I guess maybe if I got bored enough I can call for a female escort and if she was too tired she has her own bed? Lol. When it comes to expectations for lodging, mine are usually low. Things like all the lights working, a comfy bed, consistently hot running water, and the AC/Heating system keeping the room at a decent temperature is all I ask for. Anything else beyond that is considered a bonus. Things that were available to me like decent wifi, a mini fridge, a nice desk and chair to work on your laptop, a coffee maker (even though I dont drink coffee), a nice sized flat screen tv, a hair dryer, and a safe. The main thing that blew my mind was the free breakfast buffet that was included with my stay. If you refer to my pictures, their assortment of breakfast options were vast. You could literally have a different breakfast combination for 2 weeks straight. What people go mainly for are the create your own omelette that a chef is standing by ready to cook for you and the entrees that are already available like scramble eggs, suasages, bacon, home fries, and pancakes or french toast. Of course if none of those tickles your fancy you have choices of hot oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, bagels, smoked salmon, cheese, fruits, and muffins. Where the hotel is located you have access to plenty of eating, shopping, and entertainment options. It is virtually located right next to the freeway and the the airport is only 12 miles away. For your convenience there is a shuttle that can take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius is what I heard. All in all even though I stayed here for business, the experience was very pleasant and I was never really a breakfast guy but who in their right mind would say no to a free breakfast buffet and a good one at that? They even serve Starbucks coffee in the lobby but it's not actually a full fledged Starbucks model. Shout out to my employer for putting me up here and also a shout out to the folks at Marriott for giving me a rather pleasant experience in my stay here. I stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip recently. The decor in the hotel is nice and the lobby is pretty spacious. My employer was hosting meetings at this hotel as well so I pretty stayed there all day and all night those 3 days with the exception of dinners when our group would go out. The hotel catered our breakfasts and lunches during our meetings there and the food was all quite good and the service staff for those meals were really great. They have a restaurant and bar in the hotel, but since all my meals were either during the meetings or our group dinners out I did not visit either of those during my stay. They do also have a coffee shop (Starbucks) inside the hotel lobby, but it was being renovated and not open while I was there. The room itself was clean and the bed & pillows were comfortable. The thermostat was easily adjustable to the temp I wanted. There is a little coffee maker with regular & decaf along with some tea bags in the room, and the travel coffee cups also had lids, which was nice if you wanted to take your hot beverage on the go. One minor thing to note was the mini-fridge in my room had a small "freezer" section, but it is really just a tiny open square within the top of the fridge and was not nearly cold enough to keep anything frozen. If you use the mini-fridge I would do so just to keep things cold, not frozen, so no late night ice cream in your room. :) read more

I had called two days prior to arrival and talked to a lady and she confirmed that we would have a mobility accessible room with a roll in shower. When we arrived, we were given a mobility accessible room with a bathroom tub. The receptionist did apologize but stated that none of the rooms with roll-in shower were available. The room we received was just not very friendly for a person who uses a wheel chair. My wife has various mobility limitations as a consequence of brain cancer and because of the room set-up and carpet, it was just very difficult to navigate. The bathroom while having grip handlebars, were not designed to be of any use with a person who has right-sided mobility deficits. I did read the Marriott's promo materials and noted that there were available rooms with bathtub benches. When I talked to the receptionist about this, she said she would look into in, and she did call back and sent someone to install a tub bench which we appreciate but once again, with just the size of the bathroom, it was very difficult to transfer from a wheel chair to the tub. And, I was not at all happy with the breakfast selection, cold runny scrambled eggs, soggy bacon, etc., and there were pastries with mold (see pic.) Everything else was good, the service when we requested toiletries and towels, and etc. however with the combination of our unique needs not being met, and the breakfast issue, it was a disappointing stay. read more

This is my company's preferred hotel and we have a nice, negotiated rate with the Schaumburg Marriott. It truly is a nice hotel that caters to the business traveler. Their lobby is modern yet also inviting with an amazingly friendly staff. Marriott Rewards members have a nice floor that is key access only plus a lounge that serves up free breakfast! A huge plus for the business traveler. The rooms are all very nice, amazing bedding that makes you want to melt into bed, all the hookups for the business traveler and they will be redoing their bathrooms throughout this year I've been told. They have a lounge & restaurant in the hotel which is super convenient not to mention a Hertz rental car service which has proved to be a great asset for our business & clients that come in. All in all, a great hotel and I always recommend it internally and to clients of our company. read more

My wife and I had a group rate for our family and friends at the Schaumburg Marriott for our wedding reception in early September 2021. The hotel staff was highly accommodating and friendly. Michelle-Event Director was very courteous with our requests and Lynzie-Hotel Manager was very responsive via email. The hotel receptionist team was able to provide our out-of-town guests with our customized welcome bags that we prepared upon their check-ins. Moreover, since our family and friends were staying in town for the wedding weekend, Michelle was able to reserve us a private dining room for our fantasy football draft later that weekend. She was also able to provide my family members a free 10-person shuttle to/from our rehearsal dinner nearby, along with shuttling guests to our family picnic in Busse Woods. Please note that their shuttle is by appointment only and functions within a 5-mile radius of the hotel. Overall, an excellent stay for my loved ones. The only complaints I heard from family and friends were that there was limited storage space in the guest rooms, refrigerators were mildly cold, and the air conditioning in the private dining room was not working. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, rooms and shared hallways/lobbies were clean, outdoor parking was ample, Wi-Fi was high speed, and the building seemed recently refurbished and modernized. I would highly consider re-booking at the Schaumburg Marriott for myself or my loved ones. read more

We were in Chicago for a hockey tournament this past weekend. The hotel security was horrible. We felt like we couldn't do anything without feeling targeted. One security guard even stood outside of the room we rented to make sure she yelled at any kid that opened the door. Got reprimanded for bringing outside food in when it was ordered from the restaurant at the hotel. She kept saying she had camera footage of everything. We felt like we were being spied on and the kids were afraid to do anything. Very unenjoyable experience. We come to Chicago from Wisconsin often for hockey and will never stay at this hotel again. Security seemed to be on a power trip. When you can't even walk out of your room without feeling like you are being watched it feels very violating. read more

While the hotel was very clean and friendly, their hired security guards were not. We stayed for three nights for a hockey tournament and it felt like prison. We were followed around all weekend to make sure we had no outside beverages in any hotel area and that grown children were with an adult. I stay here yearly when I'm in town for a convention. Pros are it's in a great location. You have the mall, whole foods, & plenty of dining options nearby. Average price for a night, rooms are what you'd expect for a Marriott. Cons are the Wi-Fi is spotty, the in house Starbucks isn't open all day (I ordered a Chai & it was all milk), someone in our group found bed bugs (luckily it seemed like it was only that room). Had an awesome wedding here! The coordinators are easy to work with and very quick to respond. Special shot out to Kathryn, Maryjo and Jill. They were great! Our food tasting went perfectly ( although food did come out a little subpar during the actual wedding). If we didn't like the taste of something, they were more than happy to redo the tasting with our requests. The venue set up was absolutely beautiful as well. I was a little nervous Bc the carpeting is so ugly ( orange/red) but with the uplighting and dimmed lights,it was absolutely beautiful. I received so many compliments on how the room looked that night. In addition to the venue, the hotel offered a very spacious king suite and hospitality room for the bridal party to hang out in. Hotel staff were very courteous and I absolutely recommend this place for a wedding. Loved it! read more

I haven't stayed at this Marriott before but I had a very good experience. The room is a little small but it was plenty big for us (2 adults and a kid). The rooms don't have a fridge installed but if you ask the front desk they will gladly come by with a portal fridge that you can use throughout your stay. The hotel wasn't very busy during Thanksgiving, not sure how quiet the rooms are otherwise but we didn't hear any other guests. Their restaurant is nice but it's not cheap. I tried their Italian beef sandwich was really good. They didn't unfortunately have a breakfast buffet in the restaurant because it's so slow around Thanksgiving. We did eat breakfast the last day at the restaurant which was quite good. I had the all-american breakfast which filled me up good. They were understaffed this particular day so the service was a bit slow but I would assume that's just because it was around Thanksgiving when they don't have a lot of guests. We are Marriott Rewards members and ended up using the concierge lounge for breakfast and late snacks the rest of the time. They had a really nice selection especially for breakfast at the lounge and my wife said they had more variety at the time that we were there than she's seen there before. The concierge was really nice and entertaining on top of that. There are also lot's of nice restaurants nearby and a big mall if you get an urge to shop. It was a really nice stay, we'll definitely stay here the next time we come back to the area read more

I've been here several times now. Once, for a corporate event for my company -- it was well-done - from the food down to every last detail -- they nailed it. I've also been here a couple times for their Eat. Drink. Meet. events, which I've enjoyed with my colleagues. Most recently, my husband & I stayed here for our 17th wedding anniversary. They were able to accommodate our special requests of a high floor & early check-in. We made a note that we were celebrating our anniversary when we booked the room, and they gave us a couple complimentary drink vouchers, as well as a voucher for a free appetizer at the local restaurant we were going to be dining at that evening. We took advantage of a romance package they offered - which included 2 breakfast buffets, chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. They asked at check-in when we would like them delivered to our room -- and they arrived within 30 minutes of our preferred time. The bed was comfortable, and I absolutely love the in-room showers, opposed to tubs. I despise hotel shower curtains trying to cling to your legs -- so it is entirely refreshing to see a shower instead with glass doors. Toiletries smelled nice, and was everything we'd need. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we just booked another night here this upcoming December, for the night of my company Christmas party. Cannot wait for our stay!!! read more

This place is under heavy renovation - so if your considering staying here - call a head of time to see what state the renovation progress is in. I stayed three days for business and the noise can be off putting. Speaking of noise, there were 4 hotel room attendants cleaning on my floor my first day and I could hear them talking to each other loudly while they were in the different rooms. I've never experienced that. Also, the ice machine was broken so I told the front desk. The next day, it was still broken. The staff are friendly, that's why I gave the two stars. The lounge that they have for breakfast & dinner is . It's like someone took a class room and put a kitchenette in it and some tables. It reminds me of a elementary school. I'm surprised they charged me so much per night for this type of experience. If you're considering wanting to stay here, I would advise you call in advance just to see if they're done with renovating. Perhaps your Marriott experience will be a better one. read more

Reserved room online on 4.12, for 5 nights... I chose this location as I travel quite a bit for work. I never really paid attention to the different "rewards programs" from hotel chains til recently. Current work project has had me staying in hotels from Jan- til now (going til June), last 120 days or so. I have stayed at both IHG and Marriott hotels, personally the Marriott hotels have been classier IMO. That being said, the last hotel was a Fairfield Inn (a "select" class of hotel), with the holiday coming up and visiting family I chose the Sheraton by Marriott in Schaumburg, which is listed as a "Premium" hotel. My thinking was that the "select" line of Marriott hotels have been quite nice, the "premium" line should be "a treat". This is so far from the truth, at least at this location. Upon arriving I check in and was thanked for being a member, the gentleman stated he was going to put me in a slightly larger room away from the ice machine, cool... I thought "little extra room is always appreciated" upon getting my room card, I was given vouchers for breakfast. "Ummm ok..." on going to my room, I passed said ice machine, it sounded as if a jet was taxiing for takeoff at the airport, well avoided that one I thought. I get to my door (room 260 is all the way in the back on first floor) I see dirty plates and bowls on the ground right next to my door.... I looked passed it, it was late and I had driven 12 hours. After entering the room and getting somewhat settled I noticed the toilet was dirty, wiping it off with Lysol wipes, the wipe turned black. The room itself isn't bad, but very, very, underwhelming and not 100% clean for a "premium" hotel line. Short story- I am glad I used points, I would not pay to stay here. Although it did stink to waste the points, I could of used them at a better location, at least I didn't waste cash. The hotel isn't as "premium" as it is made out to be- I have been to other Marriott locations that were much better. The number of conveniences - soap, breakfast, etc., are more plentiful and FREE at the "lesser" hotels. (Not sure why when they are the same company...) Bathrooms are tiny for such a "premium" experience, definitely not on par with its sister hotels. Microwave? Not in your room. One in the hallway heading towards the front desk. I mean.... Who doesn't like communal microwaves.... Do not come here with the impression that the local corporate centers, and somewhat decent location to ohare would put this hotel at the top for guest service or cleanliness, because it doesn't. Really underwhelmed and almost a little angry.... Wanted to use the points to get away for the holiday for a little bit, instead, I reserved a worse hotel then I had when I was on the road working. If this location is a testament to the difference between the "premium" and "select" lines offered by Marriott, save you money and just go basic. If you are traveling to Chicago with plans in the burbs, Schaumburg is a great place to consider staying. It has lots of wonderful restaurants, a nice mall, movie theaters, and a nearby Metra station which will take you downtown without having to mess with traffic or pay an insane amount for daily parking. We were greeted by a welcoming staff who let us know where the concierge lounge was and gave us vouchers to redeem at the breakfast buffet. My husband travels for work and stays in Marriotts often so he has gold status with them. Only gold and platinum members are given access to the lounge which is open weekdays with free meals, beverages, and snacks. There is a Starbucks in the lobby too which I prefer as I'm normally not a fan of hotel coffee. We ate at the breakfast buffet our last morning there and were actually pleasantly surprised. They had an omelette station where I got an egg white, spinach, and feta omelette made fresh in about 2 minutes that was delicious! They also had fruit, oatmeal, yogurts, toast, bagels, scrambled eggs, waffles, breakfast meats, and potatoes. Our room was cozy with a king sized bed and rainfall shower head. We also had an office area and could faintly see a view of downtown on a clear day. The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was the elevators. Twice I got in one claiming to be going down to the lobby but instead took me up a few floors. Also, one morning we were trapped in one for about 5 minutes with another couple before the doors would open. When they did it was a floor none of us had hit the button for (and no one was standing there waiting for a ride either). It felt like taking a gamble each time we got into one to see where we would end up. Very odd. I would definitely stay here again though. It was centrally located for all our plans, clean and comfortable, with a great staff who truly made us feel at ease. read more
