Everything has changed from the actual CARE to the respect given and best of all...they have just started charging residents 30% plus more for their billing with NO explanation. The new Executive Director is absolutely awful. She doesn't respond to emails and wants everything done in person (don't trust that!!) So that there's no record! There is no longer wine served at meals. And if it runs out it's out. They can have A glass on Wednesday and A glass on Fridays. While it sparkles on the outside beware. Whitewashed tombs!!! Maintenance requests are ignored or pushed aside. SO I have contacted the STATE about care violations, AND Cogir. On multiple occasions Cogir has been contacted. And they are not responding. The care is NOT THERE. The office doesn't care. There is borderline abuse in SO many situations. It's fresh and new. But as cold as an ice box. BEWARE if the three trolls under the bridge.

Also I'm concerned about the relationship between two of their caregivers on assisted living... they have a romantic relationship where they refer to each other as "mother" and "daughter". It's very uncomfortable to witness. I've even overheard them calling a male resident "grandpa" and a female resident "grandma". I don't know what sort of sick incest kink they have going on but if it continues I will be moving my mom to another facility!

Avamere offered the nicest outdoor experience with a walking trail, duck pond and easy access to shopping and bus lines. The interior of Avamere was also a step up! It did not have that tell tail 'older person' smell that all the other facilities had. Fresh paint and fresh carpet go a long way toward this achievement. Additionally I would like to give Cassie Delozier a shout out. She made the transition smooth from independent living for my brother to a very pleasant room that he is very happy with. She did a personal visit with my brother to make sure he would fit in, arranged to give him a personal tour of the facility and helped get us all settled in once the move happened. She made a point to introduce him to all the residents and staff on his first day and was instrumental in us choosing Avamere for my brothers forever hone. She continues to answer my periodic question about resources and general questions within the hour that they are posed, excellent customer service! Thank you Cassie! If anyone is looking into a superior senior living experience I would highly recommend Avamere at Park Place.

Sadly, my mom only got to enjoy the care from Maggie and James for two months before she died. Maggie's empathy and care of my mother was truly amazing, and made losing her a little easier, knowing that she was well cared for. My family and I cared for my mom at our childhood home for 2+ years, but when her dementia progressed to the advanced stage, we realized she needed more care than we could provide. Luckily, we found Jenilee and her care- team at Heritage House. My family and I took a tour and were immediately impressed with the care team's friendliness, knowledge and ability to provide 24-hour skilled (and loving) care. Heritage House is located on a quiet, tree-lined street in a residential neighborhood. It's cozy and clean --full of plants and light, with a loving small dog and cat who like to check in on residents. Sadly my mom passed away a few nights ago (in her bed at Heritage House).
